Paid for it or stole it from the children of the masses to the children of the connected? Lawmakers are known to threaten agencies of government to give them job slots or have problems with their budget passage. Corruption and nepotism keeps growing while those who benefit keep applauding. ogwuche4u: |
I did the state job, the first federal job and now the second. NSEstudent: |
NSCDC pays more. There's also room for bribery and corruption, if that's your thing. No need to further your education. But, you will wear uniform, be exposed to more risks, work on public holidays, transfer to states you never dream of going, probably work outside in the harmattan or in the rain. It comes with the job. Graduate Assistant pays less but you don't get room for bribery and corruption like in Civil Defense. You get to stay and plan your life in one place with your family. No fear of transfers. No writing of promotion exams every three years with fear of failure. No working outside during harsh weather. But you will mark, supervise students, write journals and academic papers, make research, attend conferences. Choice wisely. Namus2020: |
Depends on your own definition of success. Education is the key to my own success. Even without human connection but with only God, I got three government jobs in five years. 2 federal and one state job. I am a champion of merits. Many people with something upstairs won't have problems getting jobs if not for greedy, corrupt politicians and their supporters. Amovingman: |
If you are talking about academic staff, people have collected APLs. I know two people. Funnily, they didn't contact most people. You have to contact your Dean to know if your letter is ready. Then, just go to the school and pick it up. Talilaf: |
Number 1, I was the one who schooled you and prompted you to realize your mistake and then make new findings. Number 2. You cannot school me as you are very ignorant of my profession. I am a lecturer and that's why I called your attention to your funny errors. Number 3: Saying allowances has nothing to do with FG is another error from you Mr. Pride. Make another finding and come back to boast as usual. He even said something about cooked fantasies. You ask and make findings. I don't need to do this because I live in the world you are trying to know about. smartkester: |
You know nothing about lecturing ranks and it's salaries. If you indeed ask a friend who is a lecturer, ask him again what his salary is and his rank. How can you even say L1 is after AL? How can you say the increment is just 20 to 30k? Ask your friend about CATA if truly you have a lecturer as a friend. smartkester: |
How come Tinubu attacked Jonathan for insecurity but can't solve insecurity when he got there. Why didn't those who attacked GEJ join security forces going by this thread? |
Let it motivate you and not discourage you. Work hard. Try every job opening. Never give up. Even without connection, you can get a FG job. Of course, those with connection may get it first but if you don't give up, you probably will get in too. While waiting, sharpen your skills and get more qualifications if you can. Luck is preparation meet opportunity. . NotSidestory: |
Only the connected enjoy. So many Yorubas need a job and they can't get it while some fulanis, Hausas or Igbos have gotten it. It is never a tribe thing. Every tribe that has connection enjoys at every point in time. I went for NBTE job test in Kaduna Polytechnic in 2016 and I met one fulani guy who came from Katsina. Told him he has no problem since Buhari was the president. He just smiled and told me the truth: he has no connection, there no guarantee he gets the job. Only those connected to those in power gets job. So many fulanis who want job won't get it, yet some Igbos or Urhobos or Tiv will get it. Getting jobs through slot should be a crime. All those who engage in that nonesense are destroying Nigeria. There ought to be a open, competitive process and the best ought to get jobs. Omuka1: |
You said you don't understand but you have answered already and that means you understand. Do you have any control in the exchange rate? BannedUser: |
That one that your money even reduces immediately you send money there. BannedUser: |
I know of two state universities where there AL gets not less than 250k currently. I also know that very soon that amount will increase by the time they all start getting CATA that FG owned universities started getting since January. Normally, states pay more than federal. DeEconomist1: |
Most states to the best of my knowledge hasn't started paying CATA, so I am guessing it's not yet applicable to them. But know that most states before the introduction of CATA get more than universities owned by the FG. I also know that they are also fighting to start getting CATA. When they do, they will earn even much more than FG pays. DeEconomist1: |
Federal Tertiary Institutions (FTI) are no longer on IPPIS. If people from ippis tells you they can help you get a job in FTI, tell them I say they are a very big liar. RealGora: |
Do not let anyone know deceive you or make you do what you don't want. If you don't want to go, don't go. It's not a job where you can be transfered to another state after some time. It's not as if you don't also have a reliable job at the moment. Think carefully before you resign. You need to consider moving, consider leaving your loved ones, consider transport to your own state when you visit and back to work. Family is everything. You must also consider the salary, if that job worth it. Does it worth the sacrifices you are about to make? If it doesn't worth the sacrifices, decline now and hope you get a better one close by someday or perhaps continue with the one at hand until retirement. RealAbba: |
It depends on what you want. Do you want to simply make money or do you want visibility. Do you want to work really hard and perhaps make a name for yourself or do you want to enjoy life (soft life). Forget about the fact that one is owned by state and the other by the federal. In most cases as lecturers, states pay much more than federal government. So money shouldn't be a consideration here. If you will like to later move to federal university , perhaps because of anything, it will be easier if you take up that university job. There's respect and more opportunities with university. The college of education will most likely prevent you from getting a university lecturing job later. Even if you are lucky, you will never be offered more than the same L2 you are being offered right now even if you have 10 years experience in that college of education. If I were you, I will quickly take up that university job. If you want to work in the university, this is your opportunity. I am a lecturer and I know things. Drllmy: |
It is Orogun and it is located in Ughelli north LGA of Delta state. It is located beside Federal Polytechnic Orogun. Not far from Ughelli, not far from Abraka. Not really far from Warri. CHEMICALBOSS: |
Please, does this also apply to academic staff recruitment or is it only for non academic positions? lordprogress: |
Unless you are applying to a college of education or to a university of education, your PGDE and TRCN is not needed and will not be appreciated. They will reckon with your masters and first degree alone. Start a PhD and put it on your cv. You are likely to get a job in a university as AL if you are on PhD than if you aren't. Don't settle only for university. Polytechnic are also there. Same for colleges of education. So apply everywhere. The key is not to give up or get angry with the system. Just continue to apply. One day, you will be shocked that you are in. Last year was when there was so many lecturing opportunities in many institutions. But, still continue to look for opportunities. You won't know which will work. Can you get in without knowing anyone? Yes. It may take time but never give up. TOM208: |
Sahara Reporters often drop fake news. They sometimes even make news up, if those involved has problems with Sowore or Sowore has problems with them. Not a reputable media. But because someone often lie doesn't mean he won't sometimes say the truth. ruggedtimi: |

Omoluwabi4real:That's for people who have no job. Many here have jobs. It's better they know the salary before applying. When they get the job and then they waste the opportunity because they now get to know the salary is even worse. It's better they don't apply after knowing the salary and allowing those without jobs to at least apply and get the job.. And this thread is all about salaries. So, allow people to ask for salary. |
Recruitment is currently ongoing. Apply online cokeryusuf09: |
That's the table for you. Ademoore07:

You are the one playing here bro. MOST of those who got in through connections are grossly incompetent. They will never get in through a fair process. Of course there are exceptions but most who get in will never make it in through a fair process. Politicians largely do not care about how competent you are. If those connected are as qualified as you are trying to make people believe, why don't they let the recruitment process fair and transparent? Politicians are largely wicked people with a few exceptions. Those with connections have one vote, those without have one vote. Why then do they keep bringing their people in? Are you justifying the wicked act of using connections to bring people into government offices? We all own Nigeria. Allow people in based on merit. That's how to develop a country. Study the story of Singapore. Let's stop holding this country down. And yes, I work for government. I know only God. I could have gotten in over ten years before I got in if not for useless connections that shut doors on people like us whose only crime is to be law abiding without links to corrupt politicians! Medically, even if you have something with a woman who is positive, you may still be negative. Having something with an HIV positive woman doesn't automatically make you positive. |
I do not have an idea of what to expect. As for coming with your certificate, I don't think there's any need for that now, but experience has taught me that it is far better to overprepare than underprepare. Your certificates aren't heavy. If you come with it and don't need it, you will simply return it. But if you come and discovered you need it, you will regret never bringing it in the first place. Tessyy1701: |
Life is a risk. The amount of risks you are willing to take will dictate where you will get to eventually.. What if "someone" indeed got the job? I have gotten federal jobs without knowing anyone before. Oh, I once travelled to Kaduna from somewhere in the south for an NBTE test. No way I didn't pass it. Yet, Nigeria happened to me. Nothing is so sure. But you wouldn't know if you didn't try. anzion: |
