I don't mean to douse your hopes but who told you that even if you pass the CBT, you will get the job? It's government job and lots will be at play. Just do your best, hope for the best and plan for the worst. As for you getting invites for several jobs, it mean you are doing well and will get a job soon. It's a good thing you are being invited. Do you know many are applying and not even being called? Go for the CBT, do your best and keep applying for other jobs. In no distant time, you will laugh. |
As a greedy man that you are, you should manage it like that. You think you are the only one that's cunny. She knows her problem and offerred you a chance to travel because of that. Enjoy your relationship with the mouth odour and the problem with her getting married. Happy married life in advance. |
Mr President floated the naira. I guess those guys have been making Nigerians pay a certain equivalent in pounds, hence the change. |

President Tinubu is now the third president implementing Oransaye's report. They all announced its implementation but, you can guess what eventually happened. Let's see if Tinubu will be any different:

Who else have seen this? If this happens, jobs may likely be lost. "The 800-page report recommended that 263 of the statutory agencies be slashed to 161; 38 agencies be scrapped; 52 be merged and 14 be reverted to departments in various ministries. The report also recommends that the law establishing the National Salaries and Wages Commission be repealed and its functions taken over by the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Responsibility Commission. It advised the FG to merge the nation’s top three anti-corruption agencies—the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission and the Code of Conduct Bureau."

Years ago, I happen to get same offer from someone. Only mine was 2m. Of course I didn't pay. 2 years after that, I got another offer for 800k but I didn't pay. Months down the line, God did it and I got an offer without paying a kobo. I later learn the guy who asked me to pay 800k scammed people. The problem with your offer is you may even be issued a fake appointment letter or at a point, you will be asked to pay a part of the money before you get your letter and the letter may not come. If you are qualified, which I assume you are, calm down. Even without paying, you will eventually get that job if you don't give up. Anyways, the ball is in your court. All the best. Sweetcrude19: |
You can actually be both qualified for both bro. You need to understand that there are different departments in these organisations. For instance, they both has account departments and as a chartered accountant, you can work in both. Even as a communication expert, you can work in both. As an ICT expert, you can work in both etc etc There's really nothing about being strategic if you are qualified. Even that tescom job you talked about earlier, you could have gotten it if you know someone at tescom HQ. It won't matter if you are not an indigene. I know the state you talked about. I know the year. I know some non indigene who passed got in while some indigene who passed didn't, even in subjects that they didn't need many candidates. Ask for favour. Try use connections if you have it. Forget being strategic. All strategy belongs to God. Use resources to get information. All the best. achorladey: |
While it is indeed true some get government jobs without connections, I don't think it's accurate to say "many". "Some" will be better. That's my opinion anyway. Majority gets the job via connections with no payments whatsoever. Minority get it through job slot sales (even though many won't admit). Only a few get it without connections or payments and there are jobs you will never get through this route. Thank you achorladey: |
We have now arrived at the same destination. You surely need connections ![]() Thank you. achorladey: |
Search for "John Zegrus" He is the man in your story. He isn't from unknown country. Google him and read about him. |
Educate me please. For someone who is well qualified to work in say NCC or NNPC but has absolutely no connection, how does he become strategic with what he has so he can get jobs in such places? achorladey: |
The problem with your question is that you didn't ask it well. There are two different salary scale for staff of federal polytechnics. There is one for academic staff and another for non academic staff. For both, the entry salary varies depending on the qualifications and the step placed. For instance and Assistant Lecturer who just started work can't earn as a Lecturer 1. Likewise, someone with a OND can't earn same as someone with a first degree for non academic staff. If you know the step and salary scale you have been offered, then people will be able to help you. Auwalboy: |
If you don't go for NYSC as a result of age, you will get NYSC exemption certificate which is also like NYSC certificate. Stop worrying about NYSC. Go for the course you desire. Seunpapa65: |
The question you should ask yourself is why do you want to choose anatomy? If you are convinced, then so be it. Why don't you rather go for courses like nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, physiotherapy or radiography? Those courses are much better than anatomy. |
I agree with almost everything except number 2. Scammers should be tagged scammers to prevent others from falling into same pit. Someone once contact me here with information about one guy that scammed him. No job, no refund. He kept giving different days. And he comes here to give information he probably gathered on Facebook. When I searched his moniker, lots have called him out on Nairaland on various threads too. If we can't help people, don't let us be their source of unhappiness. Information may not be flowing like before for now because it's a new government and many heads of organization are just settling down. Soon, it will change again. May all who are finding jobs get their desired jobs this year. kkkp: |
I think your family is cursed but it isn't the kind of curse you think. The curse is from your parents. It is a self made curse. Giving birth to 5 children when you don't have the resources to cater for 2 is a great curse. All your problems are from lack of money. As for you not getting a job, continue to apply. You will eventually get a job. For now do anything legitimate that can fetch you money. |
I have gotten three jobs here. 2 private jobs , one federal government job. Grateful to God and Nairaland. |
I just checked out the reviews. It's indeed a terrible hotel. Definitely a poorly managed hotel. That German manager and the Nigerian counterpart are doing a bad job.

Obviously you are a very sentimental person. If not you will understand what I wrote. If you leave sentiment, you will understand my point of view. ITbomb: |
Bros, this was absolutely not necessary. He asked a question that is in tandem with even the name of this wonderful thread. Gensanusi: |
I didn't mention you. I was referring to the guy in the story. Northernblood9: |
didi100, you are too young to handle this. Inform your mom of your discovery immediately. You mom should know what to do. And if I may ask, what of your dad? |
If this story is true, then you are an irresponsible man who is responsible for your situation. Own up to your faults and move on. You need to forget the girl and that child. You obviously can't take care of the child and your baby mama can't too. So, forget about the baby. Learn from your mistakes, fall in love again but with a responsible lady and settle down. Just make sure you tell the new woman your story before you marry her. Some from the village eventually make it in life. Hope and pray your baby will make it too. Someday you will still unite with her. It's a matter of time. |
Amen to that. This thing is pretty simple. Anyone can open four different Nairaland accounts. When their yansh is open in one account, they will quickly use the other accounts to douse tension. Impossibilities do not exist. Nadingo: |
I will never blame the one paying. The blame is on the one promising heaven and earth when government is about to change hands. He knows government is about to change hands and he is still ready to sell slots! Just imagine that. achorladey: |
You said it yourself. Those quickly labelling thieves as scammers may actually NOT be scammers. Xtruzz: |
@gentledude52 Well, there nothing you can do that will make that girl change. She's from a dysfunctional family and she will never be able to act like an ideal wife. You made a great mistake to have dated and impregnated her. However, the solution is simple but hard. Completely stop calling her or giving her money even for your baby's upkeep. This will be difficult but it's the best. She will continue to try to use the baby as a leverage until you do this. When you do this, she will understand you have escaped the only power she has over you and she will be forced to dump your baby. Trust me, she will release you baby to you hoping you will be forced to reach out to her again. So, be prepared. Get your baby and take care of your baby. Be prepared for it. All the best. |
You think it's beauty that is the most important thing when choosing a woman to marry? Think again. TakeNigeriaBack: |
Is it the fact that many lecturers engage in other business or the fact that they get grants or the fact that some of them are into consultancy? Or that some go for INEC job or sometimes work as facilitators? What do you really want me to explain? Love800: |
Same FG that is finding it hard to pay wage award? Let's pray it won't be like wage award. Success1930: |
I never took the report of the special investigator serious once I saw he said Buhari didn't approve the naira redesign but one Tunde Sabiu. There are videos out there where Buhari repeatedly said he authorised the redesign. Even after the redesign, Emefiele took the new notes to the man who gave him approval - Buhari. Buhari has also in the past redesign the naira notes when he was military head of state. God knows how many other lies are in that report. But because Nigerians have decided it was Emefiele who is to be blamed for the redesign, they are not even thinking about Buhari who created all these problems.
