Guys, let me derail a little bit. I haven't travelled a lot and it's actually my first time in Dubai and Abu dhabi, I love my country but I am so ashamed of it, it's not just the wonderful things here but the peace, a system that's innovative and works.

As in ehn, I am so pained.

Please what has he missed? He is on point. He has identified the genesis of problem and likely solutions which makes sense. You guys should go up north and compare with the south, it's a glorified desert, even Kano is a shadow of what it used to be. Anyways, the northern governors, ex military head of states, emirs et al that embezzled the funds should plough it back to develop the northern region; shikena,

For me, I am on the fence on this one but the interview is very detailed. He has mentioned some names including dates and events. The proper thing for us to do is to confirm the authenticity of the names and if possible interview some of them too. Someone like Ado Bayero should be well known considering his Family and background. This is a serious one o, God help us

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe At African Union: Let’s Stand Up To West by pmarine: 3:38pm On Feb 02, 2012
Kenyanstar:
Most of you guys criticiszing mugabe are ignorant of zimbabwe internal affairs. First, zimbabwe is one of the most beautifull, scenic cleanest countries in africa. You cannot even compare it with Nigeria. A visit to harare, capital city is like a walk in newyork. Its not only breathtaking but orderly. One of mugabes policies is to unify the country, but resistance from white minority group who still maintain apertheid role. Town like francistown r strictly white inhabited. The issue of tribalism is non existent. What is really hurting zimbabwe is sanctions not mugabe.
You are a joker, how does cleaniness portray economic sanity. We are talking deep here my brother, I am sure you 've been to Abuja ( some of the prime areas like asokoro et al)it's a fine city but does it portray the hardship Nigerians go through daily? Brain pulse, u r on point.
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe At African Union: Let’s Stand Up To West by pmarine: 2:48pm On Feb 02, 2012
African leaders should shut up and deal with the internal problems first, there is a saying in Yoruba, ti iku ile o ba pani, to de ole pani, what do we have to show for all the resources we have, war, poverty, greed, selfishness, et al. These guys would come, cause problems and milk Africa dry because our house is not in order.

I think Sowore smokes igbo - even if you have a point, no need to be rude about it. The President is on an official mission - you called it a junket. You need to watch how this same Sowore was rude to Fashola in London sometimes back.

The igbo he smokes is getting into his brain bit by bit.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria President Urges Boko Haram To Come Out And Talk by pmarine: 10:43pm On Jan 26, 2012
@dilluminati, I knw and have been following the trends. I suspect we have BH members in house too but nothing has been documented so far. Initially, people claimed they are against western education, another school of thought said it's because the yaradua administration killed their leaders, some would say they are Political thugs, some say they are against Christians, now it's about state governors not meeting financial obligations. I know its all interwoven but they should state in very clear terms what they stand for and what they want. Mr. President's request isn't for dialogue, it's to identify the root.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria President Urges Boko Haram To Come Out And Talk by pmarine: 10:25pm On Jan 26, 2012
Personally, I feel he has done the right thing by asking them to state their demands. We don't even know what they want or why they are angry. It was easy to tackle the Niger delta problems because their demands were clearly stated. They (BH) have killed men, women, Christians and muslims. Let them come out and state their demands and we ' ll move on to the next step.

PoliticsRe: "May IBB Die A Violent Death"- Gani Fawehinmi’s Son by pmarine: 11:06am On Nov 13, 2011
Can we move on, Ibb, Buhari, Obasanjo should be kept in the past. Let's think of better n productive ways to change this country and move forward. The young man has every right to be bitter but he has to move on and live his own life. I read something recently on Lord Lugard's assessment of Africans and its really painful that after 89 years, same na ni.

“”In character and temperament” wrote Lord Lugard, “the

typical African of this race-type is a happy,

thriftless, excitable person. Lacking in self control,

discipline, and foresight. Naturally courageous, and

naturally courteous and polite, full of personal vanity, with

little sense of veracity, fond of music and loving

weapons as an oriental loves jewelry. His thoughts are

concentrated on the events and feelings of the moment,

and he suffers little from the apprehension for the

future, or grief for the past. His mind is far nearer to

the animal world than the that of the European or

Asiatic, and exhibits something of the animals placidity

and want of desire to rise beyond the State he has

reached. Through the ages the African appears to have

evolved no organized religious creed, and though some

tribes appear to believe in a deity, the religious sense

seldom rises above pantheistic animalism and seems more

often to take the form of a vague dread of the

supernatural”

He lacks the power of organization, and is

conspicuously deficient in the management and control alike of

men or business. He loves the display of power, but

fails to realize its responsibility ….he will work

hard with a less incentive than most races. He has the

courage of the fighting animal -an instinct rather than

a moral virtue……In brief, the virtues and defects

of this race-type are those of attractive children,

whose confidence when it is won is given ungrudgingly as

to an older and wiser superior and without

envy…….Perhaps the two traits which have impressed me as

those most characteristic of the African native are his

lack of apprehension and his ability to visualize the

future”
