rolchi: But I thought Fashola said he doesn't have the power to hire and fire doctors, so who gave him the power now? ACN and propaganda. Fashola has eaten the humble pie! How does it taste? He said it LIVE on Tuesday....I jus tire for this country. |
nwani oma: And so u feel you would change it without consulting shareholders? And the president is not the federal government! Pls they should just accept their mistake and revert the name, i wonder the kind of advisers GEJ has sef!seconded!...I tire o, we need serious re-orientation in this country.......we did social studies, business studies etc in secondary school and the terms federal government and democracy were clearly defined. Even if its a private business, won't you notify the managers of the company, the bank, CAC etc.....Nigeria is not a one man show anymore, IT BELONGS TO US |
papatosibe: So John Harvard isnt a person's name? Harvard was actually named after John Harvard. The institution was named Harvard College on March 13, 1639, after its first principal donor, a young clergyman named John Harvard. A graduate of Emmanuel College, Cambridge in England, John Harvard bequeathed about four hundred books in his will to form the basis of the college library collection, along with half his personal wealth worth several hundred pounds. Ambrose Alli University is a university in Nigeria established in 1981. It was established by the then governor of Bendel State (now Edo and Delta States), Professor Ambrose Folorunso Alli (1979–1983). First known as Bendel State University, then Edo State University, it was later changed to its present name in commemoration of Alli. The decision to establish the University of Ife (popularly referred to as "Great Ife" by the ruling Action Group party of the Western Region of Nigeria was in protest at the recommendations of the Ashby commission. The university was founded in 1962 as the University of Ife by the regional government of Western Nigeria. |
papatosibe: Abiola is the single biggest donor to Unilag causes. He has given more scholarships to Unilag students than any other person, living or dead!Source...... |
werepeLeri: and if they build new universities, you will be the first to say it is misplaced priority! What is misplaced about that, the clueless president should have a scale of preference and set his priorities right. |
Some of you guys don't think at all, If you attend or attended unilag, you'll understand it. OAU was renamed after awolowo because he fought for the cause when he was premier of the western region and built the school. He contributed a lot to western education etc, I am not in anyway down grading mko but GEJ's move is political and unacceptable. They should build new universities, new roads etc and name them whatever they like. |
I dont have anything against Abiola but Jonathan is insane, clueless and surrounded by brainless people. soon UI will be Adedibu University and Ilorin Rasheed Yekini University...What should be important is raising the standard of education not changing names or demeaning its reputation. Politicians mess with everything, when will our leaders grow up and become real leaders...smh |
who has ever sued them for lawlessly or stupidly blocking the road for 5-7 hours when GEJ is in Lagos, all fingers are not equal sha . |

Hello Nairalanders, Please I need info about Nokia's major distributor(s) in Nigeria. Thanks |
Plans to buy, deal not sealed yet. anyways, can someone tell me why FB is investing so much in Instagram? |
This isn't the first time I would witness such an event but this particular one got me thinking; Why are we so lawless and inconsiderate in this country. Please correct me if I am wrong but I think there's a problem with most Nigerians; PRIDE & ARROGANCE. I am not being judgemental, its a personal opinion. Last nite, my cousin & I picked up a friend and decided to take her home, she stays at Osapa, Lekki. For almost 20 minutes, two prado jeeps blocked the road..reg. number- Deuce2 and Eky948AG respectively for no reason; the supposed "BIG BOY" was just having a conversation with a friend on the road. We honked to alert them that cars had to pass....The heavily bearded guy looked in our direction and asked us to fly, His mopol fired 2 shots in the air and we had to wait for them to wrap up the conversation. We felt so helpless and insulted...Just thought to share my experience but seriously, what is the way forward for the country? |
