Loose market? The ones they singlehandedly created?

Loose Job? As if Nigeria created job for them or the ones they created themselves?

Why won't you think before you rant?

Let's always admit they truth, the Igbos are the economic backbone of Nigeria, threaten them at your own peril.

Politics / BREAKING: IPOB Welcomes Arewa’s Quit Notice, Pleads For Time To Relocate by PMBNG(m): 4:30pm On Jun 10, 2017
THE Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed gratitude to Arewa groups for having the courtesy to give the Igbo an advance warning to vacate northern Nigeria.

The group, however, pleaded for ample time for Igbo to relocate back to the south.

Some Arewa youth groups had recently issued three months quit notice from the north to Igbo residing there.

Although the call was roundly criticised by northern governors and stakeholders, spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) Ango Abdullahi, on Friday, expressed support for the youth groups.

Reacting in a statement signed by Emma Powerful, IPOB assured the Arewa groups that its people will heed the warning and leave northern Nigeria.

IPOB called on all southerners in the north to start exiting the region as soon as possible.

“We the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leadership worldwide wish to sincerely thank the Arewa Elders Forum(AEF), Arewa Youths and Arewa Consultative Forum for seeing sense in what IPOB has been saying about the need for a referendum to be conducted in Nigeria to decide the fate of the component ethnic nationalities criminally lumped together by the British in 1914,” the statement read.

“Biafrans in general also wish to thank these vocal Northerners for at least having the courtesy to issue advance warning this time before embarking on their routine massacre of Igbos and other Biafrans living in Northern Nigeria; unlike what their fathers did in 1966 when death, destruction and mayhem were unleashed upon unsuspecting innocent civilian populations from the South comprising of mostly Igbo men, women and children.

“Igbo massacres in Northern Nigeria has occurred so many times that it has almost become some sort of an annual sporting activity for blood thirsty Northern youths. That is why we are particularly grateful to Arewa Youths and Elders for having the decency to give us prior notice before the slaughter commences.

“We promise to adhere to your warning to leave Northern Nigeria because a word is enough for the wise. Biafrans and other Southerner should start packing their properties to come down to the South. We also advice the Northern youths and their Elders to keep it on because all they have done is exercise their right to free speech which is not a crime under any law known to man. We are therefore against those calling for the arrest of these Arewa Youths and their Elders.

“It is abundantly evident from the genocidal statements coming from certain influential segments of Northern Nigeria that the British socio-political experimentation and economic fraud we know today as Nigeria, should not have been created in the first place. IPOB is very much aware of the covert blackmail and implied threat inherent in the utterances emanating from Islamic Northern Nigeria.

“Furthermore, the assumption that economic investments of Biafrans in the Northern part of the contraption called Nigeria is an impediment to Biafra restoration project is misguided and most definitely misplaced. This is cheap blackmail designed to trigger rancour among Biafra populations because the North have always assumed and wrongly too, that Igbos will place economic well being over and above their life. This assumption is based on a false premise and one we are determined to prove same as events unfold in the coming weeks and months.

“IPOB under the divine leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the instrument Chukwu Okike Abiama (God Almighty) is using to restore Biafra, therefore we are not afraid of our enemies, neither will any threat or violence from any quarter deter us. We remain peaceful in our noble quest to restore Biafra but we must caution that we always retain the right as a people to defend ourselves should the need arise.

“The civilised world is aware that we IPOB have been adopting peaceful means to restore Biafra since 2014. It is the Arewa Islamic Northern Nigeria dominated Army, Police, Navy and Civil Defence that has brought torture, killings, massacres and mayhem to communities and populations in the South. Till date, nobody has been held to account despite the existence of a comprehensive Amnesty International report to this effect.

“We are aware that these Northern youths and their sponsors Britain, have perfected plans to begin another round of killing of innocent people as the did in 1966. We advise them not to make this mistake because Britain will no longer protect Islamic Northern Nigeria because in this digital age, the world is watching. Allow Biafrans time to relocate peacefully back to Bafraland, that is all we ask.”

Politics / Re: Igbo Quit Notice: Northern Youths Call For Arrest Of Ango Abdullahi by PMBNG(m): 12:23pm On Jun 10, 2017
Till date, The signatories to the arewa declaration are yet to be arrested but it took less than 24hrs to arrest Nnamdi Kanu who committed the same offence like the northern youths.

Well what were I expecting when their people are heads of all security apparatus in this country?

Till date, those who murdered a Christian preacher in Abuja are yet to be arrested and prosecuted.

Is it the Ife-crisis? Didn't it take the police few hours to arrest the Yoruba extraction involved in the crisis?

Well, we are watching!!!
Politics / Igbo Quit Notice: Northern Youths Call For Arrest Of Ango Abdullahi by PMBNG(m): 12:03pm On Jun 10, 2017
THE Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has called on the Federal Government to extend its arrest order to Prof. Ango Abdullahi, spokesman of the NEF.

The group, which addressed a world press in Kaduna at wee hours of Saturday noted that, should there be any crisis as a result of uncivil declaration by some reckless youths who failed to weigh the implications of such sensitive matter on the economic and socio-political consequences, Ango Abdullahi and his family would leave the country, leaving innocent people to pay with their blood.

President of NYCN, Isah Abubakar said the Kaduna Declaration’ was never in any way represent the collective voice or decision of any legitimate coalition of youth groups from the region as the council remains the apex youth organisation that has the right to announce any resolution of youths from the region.

The group, which plainly dissociated itself from the declaration said Nigeria remain one indivisible entity reiterating that, any Nigerian citizen, has the right to live and own property anywhere he or she chooses to reside without fear from other fellow citizens.

Isah, who expressed worry that when the country is working very hard to retrace its step to good governance, some were busy trying to frustrate that effort by well meaning Nigeria especially, President Mohammadu Buhari and his Vice Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

According to him, “we are surprise with statement credited to our renowned elder and academic, Professor Ango Abdullahi supporting the uncivil and illegal declaration that Igbos should vacate the North.

“NYCN want to use this medium to dissociate itself from anti-Nigeria agenda for selfish reason. We are not happy with the development in all its ramifications.

“We are calling on federal government to extend its arrest order to Professor Ango Abdullahi and other people who must have sponsored the perpetrators of such a huge inciting statement capable of throng the country into another civil unrest while the country is yet to fully recovered from the previous one several decades after”.

SOME Igbos resident in the north have already begun relocating to other parts of Nigeria, following the quit notice issued by the Coalition of Northern Youths.

Though the directive has now been rescinded, barely a week ago, the Coalition of Northern Youths had given all Igbos resident in the north a three month directive to vacate the region, and also asked Hausas in the east to return back to their places of origin.

Daily Post reports that during a visit to the God is Good Motor Park in Mando, Kaduna State on Thursday, June 8, the park was brimming with Igbos returning back to the east.

One of the fleeing Igbos identified himself as Ifeanyi Odozie, an electric appliance dealer.

According to Odozie, he was leaving because he didn’t want to put his family at risk.

He further disclosed that he did not trust the government to protect him and his family.

Odozie stated: “I have been in this place for thirty years but I think I have overstayed my welcome here. I will take my family to the village and return by next week to sell off some of my belongings here.

“The federal government won’t be there to save us when problem starts.

“Since they (the northern youths) gave their order, who has been arrested?

“I also have my village, it is high time I returned home.”

Another Igbo who was interviewed identified herself as Chioma Okoye, a trader of second hand clothes at the Kaduna Central market in Kaduna.

In her words: “I want to go and rest for a while. I really don’t know what these people are up to. I will come back when they are ready to accommodate us.”

In Kano state, the situation was the same.

An angry Igbo man who identified himself as Mazi Obiekwe angrily scolded a reporter saying, “go and ask Buhari and his kinsmen why they want us to leave their land.”

Igbo, Arewa face-off: Niger Delta Militants Demand Return Of Oil Blocs Held By Northerners

A coalition of Niger Delta militants is demanding from the Federal Government the return of all oil blocs controlled by Northerners to the people of the oil producing region.

The demand is in retaliation for the order issued by Northern youth organizations to the Igbo in the north to quit the region by October 1.

The Niger Delta Watchdogs, Niger Delta Volunteers, Niger Delta Peoples Fighters, Niger Delta Warriors, Bakassi Freedom Fighters, Niger Delta Movement for Justice, Niger Delta Fighters Network and Niger Delta Freedom Mandate, said in a joint statement yesterday that they also intend to declare an independent Niger Delta on October 1 with a view to freeing their people from what they called northern enslavement.

The communiqué was signed by ‘General’ John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogs and Convener: Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators), ‘General’ Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers), ‘General’ Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors), and ‘Major-Gen.’ Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters).

Others are ‘Major-Gen.’ Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters), ‘Major-Gen.’ Ibinabo Horsfall (Niger Delta Movement for Justice), ‘Major-Gen.’ Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network), and ‘Major-Gen.’ Inibeghe Adams (Niger Delta Freedom Mandate).

Besides, they warned all the companies operating such oil blocs to quit within three months.

The group said: “A coalition of the Niger Delta militants met today in Port Harcourt to review the recent call by the Arewa Youths groups that the Ndigbo should vacate all the Northern states within three months.

“We see the declaration by Arewa Youths as a declaration which the northern elders, leaders, political elite, security heads from the North and governors were fully aware of.

“We demand 100 per cent control of our resources. We demand that the Federal Government should hand over all oil blocs owned by northerners to Niger Delta indigenes. All the companies operating in such oil blocs/wells should vacate within three months.

“The Federal Government should immediately relocate NNPC and all the offices that have to do with oil/gas sector back to Niger Delta states and immediately replace the Group Managing Director with an indigene of Niger Delta.

“All northern indigenes working in NNPC and any other board that has anything to do with oil/gas should be sacked with immediate effect.

“We demand an independent and sovereign Republic of Niger Delta. We are tired of living with the North under Nigeria. We are tired of the President’s sentiments against the Niger Delta people.

“The President can have time to receive the Chibok girls but could not have time to meet with the representatives of the Niger Delta agitators. Our money has been used to fund Boko Haram, a problem created by the Northerners in order to use it as conduit pipe to siphon the resources of Niger Delta.

“On October 1, 2017 we shall declare our independence come rain, come shine. We shall take our destiny in our hands and free ourselves from the slavery of the North as they are tired of one Nigeria.”

Politics / Your Biafra Will Be Landlocked? Find Out My Answers by PMBNG(m): 10:18pm On May 31, 2017
Now that the ashes of the Biafra talk is still smoldering, with few sparks here and there, I think it is important to address this once again.

If Biafra becomes a sovereign state today, it will be a landlocked country. Yes.

If Biafra becomes a sovereign state today, it will have one of the highest population densities in the world because of its smaller landmass. Yes.

Are these obstacles to economic growth and development? Yes.

Are they insurmountable? No.

The need to address this arose out of the myriads of assumptions on what may likely be the fate of a sovereign Biafran state should Nigeria continue to refuse our call to restructure and save itself from imminent implosion.

Many have said that a sovereign Biafra will face the huddles of geography due mainly to its small land mass and landlocked state.

Being landlocked is an impediment to economic growth no doubt,The World Bank said its negative impact equals about 1.5% of GDP. But access to the sea is not in itself a guarantee to economic growth either.

With developments in technology, logistics and huge improvements in air transportation, committed countries have cut down on this impediment to a negligible level.I think you know about the Antonov An 225 Mriya cargo aircraft which has the capacity to carry over 450,000 kg of weight?

Moreso, the world is moving into a full knowledge economy where the internet of things has erased physical borders.

Still on the issue of landlocked?

Of Africa's top 10 fastest growing economies, four are landlocked among them are Rwanda, Botswana, and Ethiopia. Zambia which has remained Africa's shinning example of democracy and stability is equally landlocked.

And of Africa's poorest and economic laggards, many have access to the sea, among them are Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania, Mozambique,Congo DRC, Togo, Sao Tome and Somalia of all countries.

Having access to the sea with irresponsible leadership equals mental and psychological lock, and that is the worst kind. Nigeria is a clear example.

In an age of jumbo cargo planes, and international trade corridors, being landlocked is an archaic excuse against development.

Ethiopia has taken the lead in linking up east African countries by fast electric train with connection to the Port of Djibouti. This has cut to a day, the time it takes for a container to get to Addis Ababa from Djibouti Port. Yet it takes three to four days from a container to get to Aba from Lagos.

Djibouti is building one of the worlds largest integrated sea port with a cargo airport to service over 25 African countries and 400 million people. It has become so competitive they are cutting costs.

During the last economic crisis that hit Europe, it is interesting to note that all the PIIGS ( Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain) countries all have access to the sea. Yet Switzerland, Luxembourg and Austria that are landlocked were economically more buoyant.

Every student of development is aware that geography does not hold the influence it used to have as a determinant of development. In its place, culture has taken precedent. That is why some of the most magnificent cities today are rising up from places that were ordinary deserts four decades ago. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar among others.

Have we wondered how Haiti and Dominican Republic share same weather and climatic conditions with unimpeded access to drown in the sea .......yet they are complete opposites?

Biafra has land poverty.....

Yes. The South East is one of the most densely populated regions in Africa. In places like enclave (Mbaise) driving through the communities, you might think there is a festivity going on.

But how is that a disadvantage?

Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area houses over 30 million people comfortably.

To what extent has landmass stopped Hong Kong from growing?

Monaco has 25,718 people per square km.

Bangladesh, North Korea, Rwanda, Netherlands and India all have high densities, yet people are not marching on the heads of others.

And who said if Biafra becomes a sovereign state, every Biafran must live in Biafra?

What makes you think that if Biafra becomes a sovereign state that Niger Delta Republic will refuse to enter an agreement with it granting it access to either the ports at Onne, or Calabar, especially as there will be money to be made from it?

Dont be surprised that Oduduwa Republic and Niger Delta Republic will be competing to woo Biafra importers to use their ports. And mark my word, Arewa Republic will become Biafra's major food exporter. Nation states are guided by political and economic interests not mundane sentiments.

______________________

I do not believe in territorial Biafra or secession. And I have made that known severally. I know that a restructured Nigeria will offer Igbo a great deal and that much needed space to be who they were created to be. This belief has nothing to do with the thinking, or fear that a sovereign Biafran nation will be unworkable. It will work. It takes only commitments and sacrifices to make nations work.

There is a thing called human resources.......human resources recognises no such barriers as landlocked.

Development and underdevelopment are states of mind.

If Biafra becomes independent and allow the quality of unthinking leadership that has been the lot Nigeria to captain its ship. It will be worse than South Sudan and before long Biafrans will start looking back to Egypt.

Nigeria is not working, and as long as it continues in this trajectory, it will never work.

If you so love Nigeria, instead of wasting your mental energy fighting over Biafra this and Biafra that, join hands in calling for Nigeria's urgent restructuring so that it will release its children from the Frankenstein state of ignorance, poverty, lack, and oppression.

Nigeria has failed Africa.

Incase you don't know, I'm from Anambra State.

Politics / Garba Umar Durbunde Kidnapped by PMBNG(m): 1:48pm On May 31, 2017
A member of the House of Representatives, Garba Umar- Durbunde, representing Sumaila/Takai Constituency of Kano State, has been kidnapped in Kaduna.

The PUNCH gathered that Umar-Durbunde was kidnapped at Jere along the Kaduna-Abuja Road around 5pm on Tuesday on his way to Kano from the Federal Capital Territory.

It could not be immediately ascertained if he was alone in the vehicle during the incident.

A member of the House, who pleaded anonymity, said the abductors had not contacted family members and friends of the lawmaker.

“He was kidnapped on his way to Kano from Abuja. His family and friends have not heard anything about him,” he said.

A police source stated, “The lawmaker was on his way to Kano when he was abducted but details of the incident are sketchy. What I can confirm is that the police had launched a massive manhunt for the hoodlums who perpetrated the abduction and we are sure of rescuing the lawmaker soon and apprehending his captors subsequently.”

The Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Aliyu Usman, confirmed the abduction of Umar-Durbunde by suspected hoodlums, but declined to speak further on efforts to rescue him.

“I can confirm the abduction of the lawmaker,” he told one of our correspondents on the telephone on Wednesday but declined to provide additional details.

The Presidency and the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed shock over the kidnapping of the lawmaker.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Mr. Abdulrahman Kawu, told The PUNCH that the incident was condemnable, calling on security operatives to ensure his release.

“This is a condemnable act; I have just heard about it. I am still expecting the details and it is shocking,” Kawu stated.

On his part, Ganduje condemned the kidnapping, saying it was unfortunate that such evil was carried out during the Ramadan.

In a statement by the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Garba Muhammad, on behalf of the state government, the governor called on security agents to secure the release of the lawmaker.

He stated, “Governor Ganduje, who was shocked by the news of the sad and unfortunate event, particularly at this holy month of Ramadan, condemned it in the strongest term as an act of wickedness perpetrated by evil and cold-hearted elements.

“He therefore called on the police force and other security agencies to intensify effort to rescue the kidnapped lawmaker while also advising members of the public to be vigilante and security conscious at all times.

NNAMDI Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has again flouted another term of his bail conditions granted to him by the judge presiding over his trial, Binta Nyako.

Mr. Kanu, who is facing charges of treasonable felony at the Federal High Court in Abuja has been at the vanguard of the call for an independent Biafra republic from the Nigerian state.

The bail is the first since the commencement of his trial for alleged treason.

Nyako granting Kanu bail, said he is to produce three sureties with N100 million each.

Nyako ruled that Mr. Kanu must never be seen in a crowd of more than 10 people.

“No interviews and no rallies,” said Mrs. Nyako, threatening to revoke the bail if any of the terms was breached.

On Sunday, Kanu, flouting his bail term, addressed a crowd of supporters – on the occasion of the Shabbat, a Jewish religious programme – numbering more than 10, in his father’s compound in Abia State.

His group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had declared May 30 as sit-at-home protest to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Biafran war, alongside those who lost their lives in the process.

On Tuesday, Kanu, flouted another of his bail conditions by granting Al-Jazeera an interview in his father’s house in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital.

“I don’t care. I can’t go outside to call for a press conference. I can’t go on Biafra Radio to broadcast. I can’t allow large [groups of] people to basically congregate outside to see me…it’s like asking me not to breathe,” he said.

He also hinted on why he is demanding for the secession of Igbos and the entire South-East from Nigeria, citing marginalization.

“I’m not allowed to contest for the presidency of Nigeria because I’m Igbo. I’m not allowed to aspire to become the inspector general of police because I’m Igbo.

“I’m not allowed to become chief of army staff because I’m Igbo. What sort of stupid country is that? Why would any idiot want me to be in that sort of country?” he questioned.
