Route survey with a Garmin GPS Device Day One
This stage of the project involves the use of a garmin GPS device pictured above to obtain the coordinates and elevation of salient points along the proposed gas pipeline to guide the clients decision in picking the most economical and viable route. The GPS device was calibrated to Minna datum for accurate and precise readings.
A chainage of 25m was set to obtain the elevations and detailed coordinates along the route.The route started at the Nigerian Liquefied Gas station at Ajaokuta where the coordinates of the Tie in Points of the Proposed route one were taken and the route was then continued through the thick bush to the road. Two personals were employed for the purpose of clearing a path through the bush till we reached the Ajaokuta -ITOBE road opposite the gereju power station where our survey or day one was concluded. A distance of about 3km was covered for todays survey bringing route one into partial conclusion.
The following salient points were taken along the route.
- A helipad
- A stream ( Course Unknown)
- Swampy land
-Elevations at every 25m

There is already a cheaper and better material alternative to wood, and that's polysterine material.Its used for partition and non load bearing walls....The polysterine can also be used for rib slab. A company in Abuja is into polysterine production
Another alternative is Bamboo which can be found in abundance in the SW and part of the SE....The is a great material advocate for cheap affordable housing.

There are alot of temporary fix I have come across like using of PVC ceiling to cover the lower part of the wall from ground to about 3ft, it cost about 6k per bundle , it's a better alternative than scraping the wall regularly for plastering and repainting.
Its the most economic alternative but number one rule of building Never ever build without using damp proof membrane expeially in southern Nigerian where the water table is relatively high

This big omission as rendered the building incomplete even after the completion of the project, The Inhabitant of the building would forever be plagued with the constant scourge of water rising through the foundation to soak the wall leading to pilling of the paint.

The backfilling was estimated to take up 12 trips of laterite at cost of 7k per trip .At the moment we have used just 4trips with the remaining supply coming tomorrow.

Good day sir, Its not only the bricklayers that deserve a beer, I and Abdulwastecx worked hand in hand with them to ensure straightness and accuracy, we only allowed an error of +/-20mm at every check with our plumb, line, Profile board and tape but I must also admit the bricklayers were patient and precise with their bricklaying.

Some charge for BOQ but we do it for free because we a young company trying to attract clients
