Hello house, please can e-Visa be extended? I see the option is available on the portal, so I am wondering who has used this before while in the country and if it was successful? Thanks

For now it is pointless to appeal an evisa rejection as the South African evisa department isn't structured as of yet to handle appeals. Although you may receive a letter via email insisting you can appeal, avoid this route and resubmit again with your id/passport(your missing document).

Also can you explain further what you meant by, "I had applied for my mum, using my own bank statement." what do you mean by this? Are you saying you applied on your mum's behalf( your mother being the applicant) and used your bank statement as a sponsor? If so then this can complicate things a bit, as you do need to attach a letter explaining that you are sponsoring your mother on her visit to South Africa and assume full responsibility of the cost of her vacation expenses. Ideally I will recommend that you still have to attach her bank account if she has one as often at times they still need to see her own bank account( this often at times is overlooked if applied at the consulate office but I'm yet to see the response via evisa route).

Depending on how old your mother is they may overlook it and grant her the visa if she's deemed or classified as an elderly lady. My next question will be, are you a South African residence? if so then attach your South African id and in that letter ensure to write your address elaborating that she will be residing with you at your premises.

Thanks so much for your wisdom. I am here on work visa and inviting my 73 years old mum for 4 months from Nigeria. So you are correct- I applied on her behalf and used my bank statement (South Africa). I think I can reapply and like you suggested add her account statement in addition to mine? She's a few hundred KM away from Lagos so not practical for me to bring her to Lagos VFS- hence e-visa route. Appreciate your feedback, thanks

Pls is it possible to appeal a rejected e-visa and how does one go about it pls?
The reason for rejection was that I did not attach my ID. I had applied for my mum, using my own bank statement.

Greenpoint park- no animals but free and they'll enjoy the landscape and swings for kids.
Check wikideals for deals on zoos and co. There'll be a lot now because of school breaks

I believe so. The rule will be "Cut your coat according to your size"
If they are tourists, then they should explore low-budget places to visit such as Iziko museum, Zeits museum is free for Africans with ID card on Weds. Table mountain experience is not cheap so they need to prioritize their sightseeing. Feeding and movement should come first since accommodation is sorted. If this money is including shopping then they need to set budget boundaries. All in all, the money is reasonable.

Oh, thanks alot, seems you have good knowledge about there. please which child friendly place can they visit with their child, the child like animals.

Infact thanks! I called Kenya yesterday and they confirmed even in writing that they recognize it.

No

Not all airlines recognize the Evisa, we've had a case here where the airline wasn't able to authenticate the Evisa, and the person missed his flight, please try and confirm from the airline before booking your flight, thanks

Guys I'm new here. Please help me out. I urgently need to book for nursing exam visa in SA. It will take just about 3 days or 4 max. What category of visa should I apply for and which service or office should I go through. In the past few months, many colleagues have been denied visas after retaining their passports for months. Thanks.

Hello house,

I am typing this just to make my little contribution.

A reliable agent billed me 180k to apply for a visitor visa. This was beyond my budget, so I decided to do everything independently.

I applied for e-visa through 'saonline vfsevisa (dot )com' total cost was 87 USD

I got my hotel and flight reservation through 'visareservation (dot) com' total cost was 55 USD ( they deliver the itineraries to your mail within 24hrs). Their reservation are valid up to 2 weeks.

After getting the itineraries, I proceeded to register on the VFS e-visa platform. Note: you will need a scanned copy of all supporting documents, the size of which must not exceed 1MB

Some documents I submitted

Passport - 10 yrs validity
Yellow card - Lifetime (make sure its verifiable through the barcode on the card)
The hotel and flight itineraries I mentioned above
Three statements of account (1st was salary account, closing balance about 50k Naira {inflow and outflow of 11m}. 2nd was secondary income account, closing balance of about 150k Naira {inflow and outflow of 28m}. 3rd was savings statement, closing balance 5m Naira plus)
Daily itinerary of what I will do each day
Self Introduction letter
Employment-related documents ( I did not submit an introductory letter)
Property documents (multiple land c of o's, also have a house which I provided the documents for)
Family documents ( I am not married, but I submitted my sibling's and parents' ID cards)
3-month payslips
Affidavits
Birth certificate
Pension statement ( 5m Naira plus balance)

I used a Chipper USD card to pay the 87 USD fees

I applied last week and my e-visa was approved in 5 days, with Multiple entries (they also added two days extra to my requested stay period)

Note also, if you missed any document during upload, or you uploaded a blurry document, VFS will send you a mail to re-upload the documents (12 hrs timeframe). When the visa is approved, VFS will send you a mail, with your e-visa.

I really hope I have helped someone with the little information I have provided. Wish you all success in your future applications.

Good morning house. I was denied my student visa with the only reason being YELLOW CARD NOT VALIDATED. I have now validated my yellow card online with barcode. I am submitting again tomorrow and my question is, can I use all my previous documents since they do not have an issue with those documents? Has anyone recently had this issue? Please advise, thank you!

Hello house,

Myself and family already have our TRV. I would however like to know if we can convert it to study visa when we get to Canada. I did a bit of research and I'm not clear on whether it is possible, easy or a wild goose chase. I found below on CIC

QUOTE
How to get a study permit
If you belong to one of the following groups, you need to apply to extend your stay in Canada as a student:

holders of temporary resident permits (TRP) valid for a minimum of six months and their family members
END OF QUOTE

Will appreciate some guidance please.

@kdf3449

I had asked a similar question last week but seeing no response I am proceeding with my gut feel. I am based in Ghana and in similar situation. I would do the online route that way no need to travel to Nigeria, maybe you should explore that as well also cos u have limited time off work. I indicated the residence permit issue in my letter of explanation so believe that should suffice. Good luck though and pls keep me posted.

Hello house,

Please i need professional advice on how to approach my travel plans. I have been working here in Dubai for almost 2years now and i just got married December 2015,I have traveled to South Africa, Kenya, Turkey ( twice ), Italy and Spain, all these visas i got from here in Dubai with no stress. I wish to take my wife on a trip to Canada but because she hasn't gotten her residence here, she can't apply from here with me so i am planning on coming back to Nigeria to apply there with her. I would like to know if i can use my statement of account here to apply over there in Nigeria because i don't have a salary account there in Nigeria. I also wish to know how long the visa processing time takes because I can't be away from work for too long as my company must issue me a late stating the period am going off work.( it takes just 14 days over here )

Please i will appreciate if i can get advice on my plans.

Thanks

Hello house,

Pls need your expert and urgent advice. I currently work and live in Ghana and Im expecting my work permit to be out say next week. I intend to travel to Canada with my hubby and children mid-year, however they do not have a work/residence permit here in Ghana yet. My question is can we submit our application together in Ghana? My children already school here. I do not have the luxury of time to fly them all back to Nigeria for this purpose and I also prefer that my husband applies with us here. Pls advice if the Ghanian consular/VFS would accept our application. Thanks!
