Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by poeticjustic(m): 10:30am On Apr 09, 2015
@ justwise...thank you for your response. Take no offence...is there any reference (web link if possible) that can be pointed to?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by poeticjustic(m): 9:40am On Apr 09, 2015
Good morning pals, please I need anyone who can to help me clarify this; I have a flight ticket to Toronto, but with a switch at Heathrow. Would I be needing a UK transit visa? British Airways (UK) said I would not be needing it (from their own check) since the flight connection would last less than 24hrs, but that I should confirm from the UK visa office in Nigeria. But the Visa office here got it all complicated by giving me some UK numbers to call. I called the number, and it turned out to be a paid service, and I need to have a credit Card.
Any useful info on what needs to be done would be appreciated.

Thanks
Poems For Review / Re: Fantasy Girl - Poem By Lorretta U by poeticjustic(m): 2:14pm On Oct 02, 2013
@ Lorretta, for whatever it's worth, even if this piece wouldn't make you a Laureate, it snagged a literary brick wall that I've been up against. No one was born a master of the game. It's like a treadmill, no matter how fast you are on it, you never get to the end; u only get stronger and more fit. Keep trying; that's what the best ones always do

...and poetry just got laid on a death bed,
above which hovers the ecstatic eagles.
should I merry with the birds, or mourn the dead;
or just wave a magic wand and watch as it wriggles?

@fyn gal,
U have liquidated my literary fears;
my once frozen thoughts can now flow
through a poetic duct clogged for years
by that "lil man down d street...everybody's foe".
your words fuse without a seam,
with a rhythm that gets my nod mode activated.
A 5 stars rating is highest, so it seem.
would giving you 6 make you overrated?

lol. Me don't think so. Nice work.

Nairaland / General / Re: One Reason Why You Hate Or Love Nigeria by poeticjustic(m): 2:31pm On Nov 12, 2009
I like Nigeria because she's like a 49yrs old woman, crippled from birth, pushed about in every wrong direction by her infidel husband, helpless just like her children, yet she's happy, or rather adjudged so.

WHEN TRUTH IS TOLD

let truth be told when lies become old,

when falsehood, my oral cistern can no longer hold;

let the beauty in my eyes reveal its deceptive wile,

when my cozy lips loses its hypnotic smile.

from sole to crown, its been glitz and glamour,

when my soul goes down, so will my feats for armour.

let truth be told when my bones become frail,

when the wind of time blows away my youthful veil;

let your heart be put to test when these truths are told,

perhaps its fiery love would plodly become cold.

my sole to crown you adored with its twinkles,

when my soul goes down, will you abhor its wrinkles?

let truth be told when i walk out through life's doorsill,

when, like other buried treasures, i take a dust-seal;

let not your heart grow weary when these truths are told,

only your sworn oath of love make sure to uphold.

'twas for sole to crown you crossed your heart,

when my soul goes down, until then do us part.

not WHEN TRUTH IS TOLD. wink

Literature / Re: John Grisham Or Sydney Sheldon by poeticjustic(m): 1:08pm On Oct 29, 2009
som1 said in earlier posts dat these 2 writers blong 2 diff genres, n dat has bin confirmd by odaz. On dat ground, i'd say there's no leverage, no yardstick 4 comparisn. Nevadless, i'v read plenty of Grisham's work, n, in my opinion, he's a very good writer. Meanyl, i wnder y queenesthr classified PELICAN BRIEF as 'boring'. . . na wa o. Anyways, havn't bin so in2 sheldon. . . . i'l check him out.
