However if you don't then we shall all discern who the real coward is.
Why would he do that? What will happen to Alaba, Trade Fair, Oshodi, etc? Hell no! Lagos is too sweet, no one is going to bomb it. No way. Never!

You jesters can only chorus "One Nigeria" in the south, most especially in regards to the SW.
You dare not suggest the same thing in the north.
Well at least we can chorus it in the SW (as if it takes guts)? Where can you (if it takes guts to say so)?
By the way North want One Nigeria too. I guess it's only the SW that doesn't want one Nigeria, but as usual are too chicken to say so! Waiting for the Igboman to do your dirty job, huh? You will wait till infinity!

To the poster who asked if Fashola and Tinubu are bastards for appointing an Igbo Commissioner in Lagos State: Yes. They are ignorant baboons and bastards of the worst kind.

I know Fashola had no hand in it. He was appointed because he had been washing money for "Tinubu" while working at a bank. The truth is, Ojuyobo appointed him to spite indigenous Lagosians, since his Iragbiji origin has been discovered, despite his valiant attempts to hide it. We now know that the name he bears belongs to a WOMAN who attended Chicago State University. That's why you have never heard the full version of the "Bola" in his name. Is it Bolanle, or Olubola, or Adebola, or Boladale, or Abimbola? Which important Yoruba person bears the short form of their name OFFICIALLYhuh

Fashola simply went along because he's a boy-boy of the super gangster, Yekini Amoda Ogunlere, alias Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

To the Ibos and other ethnic minorities agitating to become governor of Lagos State, I say this: Remember the events leading up to the civil war? It was this same boastful and arrogant behaviour after the January 1966 coup that led to the intense HATE that Northerners in general and Hausa/Fulanis in particular harboured for you people and ultimately led to the genocide later that year that eventually led to the civil war in which 3 million of your people were slaughtered needlessly. Your refusal to learn from your own tragic recent history will be your undoing. Continue underestimating indigenous Lagosians. We will eventually have to teach you people a final lesson in how not to be ingrates and disagreeable guests in another man's land.

The first step has already started.

A gradual boycott of Igbo businesses by indigenous Lagosians has already begun. It will spread to other Yoruba groups resident in Lagos. We don't need much motivation for this boycott, since all you people sell are fake and sub-standard goods anyway. It will continue to VERY STRINGENT terms for rental of property to Ibo people, and then outright refusal to rent to you, then refusal to SELL land to Ibos. We are developing a strategy that will see Lagosians and other Yoruba property owners only leasing land and houses to you  for a maximum of 10 years. All your existing C of Os will be revoked in the public interest. It is in the public interest that Ibos do not empty out their villages to relocate to Lagos in order to realise their vain ambition to rule us.

Keep shouting. We shall see.
All these BS will not work; or better still work against you!
the most stvpid part of it is saying it online in the open. Nevertheless, the sooner you start the sooner the news spread; I can tell you, it wont end the way you think. Igbos have come to stay in this dungeon, aptly called One Nigeria, the more the obstacle, the more they thrive (and produce more babies lol). Take your empty threat and stick it up your stinking a$$. Yorubas have been tribalistic right from the time Igbos started dealing with them; so you have not said anything new. And which Yorubas will stop doing business with Igbos? The one that sold MKO Abiola for pocket money, which one?  grin grin grin grin grin I laugh in Yoruba!  grin grin grin grin If you stop buying from Igbos, be sure that the result will be mutual. Igbo have the money and population to out-muscle you in business, even in your own back yard. And many of them are landlords already, so quit hyperventilating, you are making no sense!

The man that thrived with 20 pounds will only scoff at your angry, pathetic ranting of a disturb, disillusioned, insecure tribalistic ant.
Bring it on man; when heaven falls it will fall on all of us.  No shaking. Let see who has the tenacity to recover faster!

Nonsenses and jagbajantis post! Yorubos and empty threats! Until Nigeria unravels, the strong will benefit from the status quo. Not the insecure whiners!

Dead on Arrival. The same tribalism you want to put an end to is what you are using to place your tribe above others. Where did you got your ibo 30 Yoruba 20? Arrant nonsense.
If it pleases you, I have modified it. But it really does not matter what the sizes of the major ethnic groups are. And if it does matter, it will be articulated at the conference (or so I believe). This thread has no tribal undertone.

Thanks.

Thanks Ndu_chucks. Didn't know it has been tried before now.

Let's assume current events - GEJ ascension, Boko Haram, Mustaphagate, middle belt reawakening, resurgent Igbo,  marginalisation of Yorubas in political office sharing, Islamic banking (or Islamisation of the country), etc, have overtaken the initial effort. Lets see how this new effort will work.

So can we start with Item 1 (that is supposing we agree to the format)

- Kindly list your ethnic groups.

Here are some that I know (in no particular order)

Group Name          Estimated Size (in million)
1. Anang
2. Berom
3. Ijaw
4. Yoruba
5. Igbo
6. Hausa
7. Fulani
8. Ibibio
9. Efik
10. Tiv
11. Kanuri
12. Nupe
13. Igala
14. Idoma
15.
16.
17.

Pls copy, add missing ethnic group, and paste. After enumerating which we shall agree on the ethnic groups that shall feature in our 'mock' SNC.
Let's give it a shot. Each ethnic group will eventually nominate their candidates (2-5) per group for the conference (so each group should start looking for 'strong men' to represent them. ) Enumeration of ethnic group will end by Sunday 14th August.

Comments pls!

Many have asked for SNC, but not many of us has really sat down to suggest how it should go.

I want to propose the format below for the first Nairaland SNC. The problem is that I dont have enough time on my hand. Nevertheless, I believe it will assume a live of it's own (beyond what I imagine).

Here is what I propose:

Nairaland SNC Format

1.  Enumeration of Interested ethnic nationalities                                    -  1 week
2.  Collation and Publishing 'accepted' ethnic nationalities                       -  1 week
3.  Suggestion of SNC format                                                                    -  1 week
4.  Acceptance of format (votes)                                                               -  1 week
5.  Nomination of delegates from ethnic nationalities                               -  1 week
6.  Nomination of moderators (preferable with admin right) (votes)         -  1 week
7.  Conference (delegates only, observers are not to comment)               -  2 Weeks
8.  Declaration/Publish of Conference Result                                             - 1 Week

What do you think? Please lets keep our comments decent.  cool

sbeezy8:
cheesy how can you cancel state of origin n not sharia?

NOT  a problem for lagos , cause non yorubas have contested in election the past three times, n still didnt win- if anything it draws unity among ethnic groups n pins them against each other- with who ever dominates the REGION have the upper hand- like the first repulic. See as Zik was liked by lagos yoruba but "yorubas from surrounding states" are INDEED more tribalistic than indigenous lagosians themselves.

this issue right now is about non indignes regardless of tribe- without state of origin a Saraki can win lagos hands-down.

The only way I see a non yoruba becoming govenor of lagos is if yorubas vote that person themselves, if anything i see Lagos becoming more yoruba speaking like old days with influx from surrounding states. Fashola isnt triblastic cause many of lagos indignes arent tribalstic much, cant say the same for oyos ogun kwara ondo etc.

UNLESS you can stop millions of yorubas from ogun ekiti kwara kogi ondo oyo osun from voting/contesting/migrating to lagos - than its unlikely. i also see more opc members too many of which are young yoruba thugs from surrounding states.

DOESNT really matter to me tho- what I like about non lagos yorubas is they speak deeper yoruba n are indeed more tribalstic

but ND STATES N MIDDLE BELT STATES will be at a loss esp with the religious thing. Jos will be like 10 times worse, jobs n oil companies owned by non deltans will indeed be majority of oil companies even more than now.
Yea, yea. We saw the millions of Yorubas that voted in the last election.

N_N,

Like i wrote in one of my posts above, i can't see an infidel becoming governor of a sharia state like zamfara.

And i know that if it can't happen in the north, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN ODUALAND!

"Aigbo ile wo ni baba re ti wa" will be the first question.

An inability to provide the required answer to this question will put paid to any lofty ambition of governorship in that particular state.

There will always be those "omo ales" willing to bring in outsiders to wreck havoc on their fathersland. That's nothing new and not peculiar to Odualand.

In the past, they have not been able to actualise their ambitions and neither will they be allowed to do so in yorubaland now.

Its an open secret how much hatred the igbos harbours for us yorubas.

Is it the igbos who constantly call us despicable names that will now be voted for to govern over us?

Hell will freezes first before that's allowed to occur in yorubaland.

It will mark a return to the old "wild wild west".

No shaking, my brother! I just dey Look & Laugh.

I sincerely hope they pass the bill into law as we will finally be able to settle once and for all, who the real "cowards" are and also that no part of yorubaland is a "No man's Land"
I dey laff oooooo

These Yoruba people and their insecurity, one will begin to wonder if they are as educated as they claim. Na wa ooo

Genocide, here it comes, To be sincere Igbo has been in Lagos for ages  contributed commercially ,socially, economically all over nigeria, It is ridiculous that A yoruba to be a militant in Bayelsa , Claiming Ogoni land likewise ijaw or Igboman in Eko ile, Eko ile belongs and will be Yoruba homeland,
The bill will go long way even can affects Royal rites as well, it means An igboman will be contesting for Oba of lagos, hahhahhahha, even Emir of sokoto or Kano, hmmmm, i want to ask anyone this question, Can a visitor walk into your home and say' i want to rule your Family'?, pls this is not about tribes but a rightful thinker , even in western world you can not Just come and decided to be a king of England or even Prime minister in England,
The bolded does not apply. Those position are not electable. They are traditional institution. No one is contesting for Obi of Onitsha, Oba of Lagos, or Emir of Kano. Quit your paranoia.

PoliticsImo State Cabinet Not Bloated - Rochas by PointB(op): 12:43pm On Aug 08, 2011
GOVERNOR Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has denied appointing a bloated cabinet of 250 officials and sacking 10,000 workers in the state.

Speaking with The Guardian in Lagos yesterday, the Special Assistant on Media to the governor, Chinedu Offor, said that what people referred to as a bloated cabinet was a group of volunteers who agreed to wok for the government and were formed into various committees. “It is unfortunate that people simply saw the list of the cabinet members and without asking questions went to the press and started to cry bloated cabinet,” he said.

He said Imo State had the smallest cabinet where the deputy governor was also acting as Commissioner for Works. “People are volunteering to work for the state but people muddled up the numbers of those that were working on volunteer basis with those on government payroll,” he said.

He added: “These people are not government appointees. Their names are just on the list to help the government. They are not government employees neither are they on payroll. They are people who came out to say they love the government and wanted to contribute their quotas to the government of Governor Okorocha.

Immediately the committees are done with their various assignments, they will be dissolved. Before, the jobs of the committees were given to consultants and contractors but they are being done free by the committees.”
