bakila: The Army has a duty to prevent internal aggression against Nigeria and its citizen. Kanu who riled up his follows is the onw who deserves ICC summons. Internal (armed) insurrection, yes! But not against unarmed protesters. Did they attack police before the soldiers were called in? Perhaps the state should have reported Kanu to ICC if they thought that was a good cause of action. But no state has the power or right to arbitrarily execute protesters. |

Isn't it their job to safeguard the civil population? Did they make arrest? Have they charged the culprits/perpetrators to court? |

The consequences of their attempt is now subject of their petition, una well done carry go. It's too early to claim victory. It's not even end of first half. |

msylva2147: so killing of the northerners and threatening the life of a sitting president is lawful abi? kwantinu because I am watching you in 3rd. I do doubt if any Northerner was killed by IPOB. Yet, if any Northerner was killed, the culprit(s) must be found, tried and punished for the crime if found guilty. I'm sure there is a law governing threat of life of sitting (or squatting president). And I'm 100% percent sure it's not extra judicial killing by soldiers. |

brightalo17: Yet ICC will clap for BSS as there own army and award them for stoning Nigerian army on parade? Hope you have the name of those individuals that killed those people? Hope you have the shooting videos as evidence?
Court case are won with evidence not emotions and claims, if there is no evidence it will remain Nigerian army word against BSS word which is You kill and the army will say I didn't kill, So the court will do what without evidence? There are abundant of evidence bro. Don't forget Amnesty International (who will be called as witness) have done their own independent verifications. Those people who were killed have family, and their testimony will count. BSS could as well be BullShiYTY Saga as they were neither armed nor killed anyone. One good point you have made though is sticking to the army's original line that they didn't kill anyone. Now we can only hope that IPOB (Internationally recognised, locally proscribed) in collaboration with their foreign partners can prove that Soldiers slaughtered people in Abia as they did in Kaduna (Shia). Surely one of these will stick and it will be enough for crime against humanity charge against Buratia and the one who commanded him. Best chance Nigeria have is to kill the matter before it gets to the court. Can they? |

mrvitalis: George bush still walk free, ex France president still walk free , Putin walks free after Georgia?
Why didn't they try Mubarak? Or the past Tunisian president ?
Ooh China dealing with its people everyday in eastern China It's true. Sadly those people you mentioned with the exclusion of Mubarak and Tunisian president are veto wielding powers at the UN Security Council. And I know for certain that the US is not a signatory to the ICC charter. Nigeria may yet get away with this barbarity if she plays her cards well. But it's not enough to chestbeat and say nothing will happen at the ICC after several petition. The ICC stands to lose face and bite if it's seen to fail to act. And failing to act means that third world and developing countries such as Nigeria with weak governance, and semi-failed states my engage in impunity. The promise to hold erring leaders accountable is an insurance against genocide. They won't stand by and let this deterrence be eroded. Nigeria hasn't heard the last of this IPOB matter. And it will surely resurrect the Shai massacre. Buratai has comitted one atrocity too many. Buhari will save his hide by claiming he (Buratia) acted alone/rouge! |

brightalo17: Only When ICC tell you that army did that for defensive measure since even you yourself have stated how unjustifiable there action was by creating BSS e.t.c, so what exactly do you expect ICC to do maybe Ban Nigerian army or jail Buhari? abeg stop dreaming and face reality.
Kpata kpata they'll tell Nigerians to live in peace and advice people not to cause problems that will lead to such problem next time. Usually, criminals don't admit to their crimes. Currently, the Nigeria Army's position is that they didn't kill anyone. They have not stated they kill anyone while defending themselves. I think they will maintain that lie if/when invited to the ICC. ICC cannot and will not ban Nigeria Army. What the ICC can do is to recommended punishment for culpable individuals. The job of the court is to dispense justice and melt punishment as deterrence. And I won't stop dreaming as MKO Abiola who reputed to have once said, "He who does not dream cannot have vision." Nigeria cannot have peace without justice; it's not done anywhere as it leads to impunity. What was norm in 19th and 20th century is no longer norm today. As an Igboman, I'm inherently abhorrent to injustice. Those who murder the innocent bystanders and protesters in Kaduna (Shia) and Abia (IPOB) should pay the price! |

But I won't blame you if you didn't know that. A lot of you don't know your left from your right. You are like Boxer in Animal Farm whose maxim is: "Comrade Napoleon is right; I must work harder!" But truth is Comrade Buhari/Buratai are not always right. You need to stay above bigotry and blind patriotism. Buhari/Buratia were wrong to have slaughtered the Shia; and were wrong to have killed people when they stormed Abia. If I'm still here when they come to have parade in your house, and they kill or capture your family, I'll still maintain they are wrong! |

brightalo17: So creating Bss, waving Biafran flag and threatening a sitting president's life is justifiable, or you think ICC are dumb? While that is not justifiable, it is still not sufficient reason to deploy soldiers to kill civilians. That's is not rule of law. ICC will take that (threats) into account, but I tell you it pales in significance to what the soldiers did. |

I don't who did this to you guys, it could be lack of proper education, or none attachment of value to sanctity of life. Whatever be the case, you can still be redeemed. Provocation is the Nigeria Army having a 'drill' in front of Nnamdi Kanu house, not someone allegedly pelting the soldiers with stones. Even if provoked with stone pelting, there is a standard rule of engagement in civilian areas. Did you carefully observe that the Army deny killing anyone? Why do think they are doing that? It's simply because they know it's wrong to do so. So if you are compelled to lie like the army, you should be insisting they didn't do any of those things they are being accused of. But don't excuse it as due to provocation. You are not helping their case. |

When he is true he should also petition all other international bodies. Arrogant empty chest beating generation that will never learn.. Always making no sense. Hate speech (if a crime by Nigeria law) should be addressed by the court. Shooting and killing people arbitrary is jungle justice, and crime against humanity. I don't know why this is difficult to understand. Hate speech and incitement to violence is not an excuse to kill people. Arrest and prosecute! That's what civilized countries do. The fact that Nigeria behaves like a stone age country is not ICC's fault. The ICC will definitely take this serious as they don't pander to the same ethnic bigotry that blinds several Nigerians like you to the truth. |

mrvitalis: ICC is powerless against a country like Nigeria
ICC would be careful not to anger Nigeria(South Africa is already vexing ) because by so doing
We can make Africa pull out of the ICC
The Supreme Court is obviously independent and can handle anything you want Don't be foolish. What it takes is a new government in Nigeria tomorrow and the sentiment will change! Buhari will not last forever as president, and Buratai might still become a scape goat sooner or later. Now currently international politics may be favorable, but it won't remain so forever. Look at Saddam (armed by the US against Iran), Osama (a CIA boy used against Russia), Gaddafi. These people were respected at some point until the politics changed. Best approach is for people to conduct themselves according to rule of law and international best practice. Provoking, shooting and killing unarmed civilians is not allowed anywhere in the world. So don't hail or encourage people in power to abuse their privilege. Even if Buhari pulls Nigeria out of ICC to avoid the mess the created, what assurance do you have that the next president will not revoke that decision. In a nutshell, quit being myopic, think far! See tomorrow!! |

If not for the fact that the government needs Kanu alive so as to make him an example, do you think he would have escaped? If they really wanted him, they would have gotten him.
The FG is not willing to make him popular again by capturing him thus it is preferred for him to be sent into perpetual oblivion. Kanu will become very unpopular after the success of November 2017 guber election in Anambra. A man has no brain! |

When filing documents for the lawsuit, he is to add an affidavit that he has locus. What gives him locus? An express instruction by Kanu to sue.
If he doesn't have that, the case is thrown out for lack of locus standi. If he is proven to have fraudulently claimed to have, he stands risk of perjury. Have u forgotten that after Kanu went missing, Ipob was proscribed. When Kanu's lawyer went to Court to challenge the proscription, he stated in his deposition that he has Kanu's mandate and authority to challenge the proscription of Ipob.
In trying to dribble others, you've been dribbled. As Kanu's lawyer challenging illegality against his client is his job, he needs not other express permission. Kanu is either kidnapped or held by the government. There is no other logical conclusion to this. |
