Buhari and Oshibanjo stink of it.

The Igbos had travelled and mingled among free nations. No power on earth will stop them from dancing in the rising sun of growing freedom of people away from the stagnant historical dustbin of nation statism. They want to face the world on their own terms.
Very well articulated. On point!

It is interesting to note that the South East seems to give Bihari a lot of sleepless nights. When he came back from his medical vacation and addressed the nation, his speech showed his disdain for the East and now his independent day speech is still pointing in the same direction, inspire of the myriads of problems challenging this nation, which he can latch on and give the populace hope and inspiration he chooses to be stuck with his revealed dislike for the Igbos.
We do not care what Buhari think of us. Tell him that Chameleon said, "I will not change the dignified walking steps of my fore-fathers because the forest is on fire."

We will not cower for Buhari. At this rate he will sooner or later go to blazes, Igbos will remain!

Can you expatiate on the emboldened because i feel this Ohanaeze ndigbo led by Nnia Nwodo has been the most vociferous in defending Ndigbo to the point that they even defended IPOB on some occasions. I think this is the best so far.
I'm not particular about which Ohaneze era, and it's rather a bit too early to judge the current leadership.

Ohaneze has been in existence for several years, apart from throwing their weight in support of one presidential candidate or another, what else have they done?

How has Ohaneze pursued any of the their agenda? Have they ever called on the people for their support? Have they ever mobilized for any cause like IPOB did? Why should should they be applauded for effort, when no result if visible? Taking a vociferous principled stand in not enough bro, Ndigbo need more than that. IPOB/Kanu has shown us how it could be done; that is the new bar.

It's highly unlikely that's the game plan. Such move will be strongly resisted. But if the equation changes in the presidency, the military is already in position to take advantage.

Whatever the police are doing or not doing, it is not the job of the military. Retool and retrain the police. That's the solution not to use the military for police job. If the military are jobless, they should demonstrate that by completing the mission to remove boko haram as a concern. That's where there talent are need not at Oshodi chasing miscreants; nor at Aba shooting protesters.
PoliticsRe: South-East Governors Are Confusionists - Junaid Muhammad by PointB: 11:55am On Oct 02, 2017
The current South East governors are indeed one of the most confused set of clowns leading us today.

They foolishly betrayed their own people without any tangible reason or benefit. Who told them they cannot oppose the Federal Government decision to terrorize protesters with Army? Couldn't they have reminded the army of the need to be civil in the mandate?

But rather in bid to be seen as politically correct (at the center) they threw their own under the bus. i'm sure we haven't seen the end of this saga. Sooner or later, they will realise it pays to defend the people than to defend some constitution.

OLUTOYOSI15:
I'm not even sure anymore if this is a democracy or military regime. Most of the things the soldiers are doing could be easily done by the Nigerian police (if properly equipped and motivated).
Very well said.

It's possible (theoretically) that the massive deployment of military for police duties could have been done with best intention. But then 'the road to hell is paved with good intention.'

This deployment is a double-edge sword. During coup, the military usually deploy soldiers to strategic areas/commands. As such unusual military deployment could be an early warning of impending coup.

With this kind of deployment the military is doing now, the benefit of using military deployment as early warning has been eroded. if they are moving troop for coup no one will know. They military have already taken over the country for all intent and purpose. Official declaration is only a matter of time.
PoliticsNationwide Military Deployments And I'robot - A Sinister Parallel In The Offing? by PointB(op):
Recently the Nigeria Military deployed in the South East Zone in the now (in)famous Python Dance II. The military buoyed by their hard fought ‘victory’ against allegedly stone wielding protesters in which several atrocities has been alleged, has now turned their gears and guns to other cities with a subtly warning to the people to cower or be cowed.

It is my opinion, and of course several well-meaning netizens that in sane climes, the Military are always often confined to the barracks unless there is armed insurrection or external aggression. But that is not the case in Nigeria.

Popular deployment of Military in Nigeria ranges from ‘monitoring’ elections, dealing with miscreants and kidnappers, and protecting pipelines, and of course crushing protesters.

Beyond the macabre Python Dance, and putrid crocodile smile, is there something sinister in the offing as the Military stranglehold almost all the states (with some in striking reach) in the country with one operations or the other. Are we in danger of a bloodless Military Coup? Perhaps, not yet.

Those familiar with the Will Smith’s popular movie, I’Robot will recall how robot were deployed in all most homes, making if a lot more easier for robots to impose curfew on human, ostensible to safe humanity from herself.

The Nigeria military is massively and hastily deploying to every state under various guises, with seemingly consent of the civilian authorites. When tomorrow comes, when things change, what will stop them from ordering curfew while martial music blare from our radios. What will stop the Military from saving us from the politicians; from ourselves like the Robots in Will Smith's I'Robot tried to do? Are we fiddling with Military Coup?

PoliticsRe: Military To Begin Operation Crocodile Smile In Ogun State by PointB: 9:35am On Oct 02, 2017
His words: “We are going to start crocodile smile in Ogun State. It is a scale of exercise to step up tempo targeted on miscreants.”

Adoke, however, urged residents not to entertain any fear when the operation starts, stressing that some miscreants have been identified and needed to be flushed out.

He said: “Though, the state is said to be peaceful but we still have some miscreants to be dealt with, so when you see crocodile smile, don’t be scared.”
Again, let me restate here for providence.

The Military has no business targeting 'miscreants' in Ogun State (or in any other state for that matter). That is not the job of the military. It's police duty. If the Police are overwhelmed they could request for (temporary) re-reinforcement from other (more peaceful) states. Reducing the Military to doing Police duty is not only demeaning to the Military, it also open up the potential for Military coups.

Judging from the spate of Military deployment across the entire country, what is the assurance that is in not a cover for a potential military coup? What stops the military from overwhelming the civil authority and seizing power at this rate?

Mrnairalandd:
Nnamdi Kanu is forever doomed if he follows this path of making his disappearance look like it was orchestrated by the Nigeria Army.

What he does think through with this plan is this, if he successfully deceive the Court that Nnamdi Kanu has been killed, arrested or hidden by Nigeria Army so as to avoid an arrest warrant being issued against Nnamdi Kanu, it ll be on record that Nnamdi Kanu is a dead man which means Nnamdi Kanu ll never ever appear in Nigeria again for life cos the Court now recognises Nnamdi Kanu as a dead man.

This plan is dead on arrival. It won't work...
What if he's actaully been kidnapped/killed by the Army? The Nigeria Army is known for her preponderance to shoot first and ask questions later. Both Nnamdi Kanu and his parent are still missing since the Army invasion.

If Kanu is play acting, are his aged royal parent in cahoot?

Now to your question. In the contest of our discussion, "Armed" is connoted as as "Carrying firearm"!
