I am a Nigerian, my entire family lives in Nigeria and I am only temporarily away. So the false alarms and chaos is as much my business as much as it is everyone else's.

You asked why parents werent carried along?... The story of the medical outreach has been in the news for over a week, even the ex COAS Ihejirika visited recently and it was in the media. You still insist the military woke up and suddenly started vaccinating children without parental consent, I have asked the question severally, where exactly did that happen besides just the whatsapp and Facebook broadcast messages originating from the usual suspect?... Can you swear on you life that it happened in real life anywhere?

There is no smoke without fire yes! But we all know where the fire came from - ipob sources hell bent on creating chaos and inducting everyone into their needless prejudice and paranoia against anything Nigeria. Yes the outreach staryed since last month, but it only takes one nincompoop behind a phone to start fear mongering through rumours.

Once again, these children that were forcibly injected and killed without patental consent, how come the peddlers of this information cant get a name or location?
So appearing on news media (which only few people able to access) is the best way the military were able to sensitize the people on a very sensitive issue like medical outreach. What was the news about and who were targeted in the the media campaign. Or you think it's enough for the military to announce in the news that they will be conducting medical outreach? Was the affected area mentioned? Did they include their methodology? Was there fliers, banners? How did they inform the parents that their wards will be affected in the exercise? If they were convinced by the military of their intention why would the parent brave all odds to pull their children/wards out of school?

You can keep blaming IPOB (a ghost) all you like. Hopefully, in your mind, that will exonerate the military bungling of their own exercise by failing to conduct proper sensitization.

Children running away and parents frantically scaling fences to pick their children was obviously a result of the dangerous rumours from 'certain sources' about children being forcibly injected with killer substances in schools by soldiers. I live in London but even yestrday, I also received several broadcast messages to warn friends and relatives. If I were a parent, even though I know better, I would have also gone to pick my kids. Likewise if I was a student, I would have also run away upon hearing such a dangerous rumour. So I dont think you need a soothsayer to tell you why parents frantically went to pick their kids, not after the barrage of deadly messages in the airwaves yesterday.

Regarding the exercise generally, there's nothing ill-thought about it; this isnt the first time it is happening, the SE isnt the only place it is happening and Nigeria isnt the only place where the military has organised a medical outreach before. The only reason it became a problem is cos the way the SE has basically made Nigeria its enemy and the paranoia and distrust that follows that. Lastly, the outreach is voluntary, anyone who doesnt need it should simply ignore it; how is that too much of a problem?
Like you said, you live in London, so you basically have little or no conviction on your comments, compare to those who are directly affected. So you of course have the liberty to choose what to believe.

There is no smoke without fire. If you insist there is nothing ill-thought about it, why were parents not carried along, while their wards were involved. There are suggestion that three persons died already as result of the exercise. Whether that was the 'certain source of the dangerous rumour' or not you obviously have no iota of idea. You are desperately trying to fit your narration within the context of the IPOB versus Army situation. While IPOB may have a beef with the Army and could potentially fuel this rumour, have you asked yourself this question:

Didn't this medical outreach start in September? Why was this 'rumour' only effective yesterday?

You still think there is no smoke without fire?

I've been pretty busy for 2 days now so I havent followrd up this story very well. But from the little I've read, I see all this as needless scare mongering by ipob and some other political losers; I may be very wrong though. But regarding what you just wrote above, do you have any proof that any child was forcibly being vaccinated without parental consent?... Besides the rumour mill on social media (which typically originates from ipob sources or from the camp of politically disgruntled persons), was there really any child that was vaccinated without parental consent?.. Let's be honest, do you know any?
If it was with parents' consent why would same parents come for their children in schools? Why would at least one of them scale school fence to rescue her ward. If it was rumour mongering by IPOB, what was the Military response to the rumour? Are they incapable of dealing with such rumours? If they are, what exactly can the military do well?

Fact is, as with most things in Nigeria, this exercise is clearly ill thought, and shabbily implemented. In IT they'll say, it didn't pass UAT (Users Acceptance Test). And that's no fault of the parents or the children whom they sought to vaccinate (or poke with needles).

Oh. You have lost count of the amount that were killed in the first operation. Or maybe there loss of memory in the East that made them forgot people werd killed in the first operation by both police and Military, but you all accepted the first medical outreach because you lots are dumb then.

The operation is targeting miscreants, criminals and bandits. Also, kidnappers and Armed robbers are not excluded. Maybe your father and brothers belong to one of those forbidden groups. Maybe you are a miscreants too.

Now, the Medical outreach is part of the Military mission, maybe to the innocent citizens they can render help to. The Military are stationed in a location for anybody willing to receive medical care to come forward for treatment. You can please prove to us that the Army went to schools forcing people and little children to take any substance. Prove that or shook your fatlie into your as.s where you brought iit from
Infantile retort.

I'm done with you. Discerning South East parents have refused the Army's Greek Gift. They have in their own wisdom and discretion saved their children from being used for experiment or worst fate.

I have nothing to proof to you. If anyone has anything to proof, it is the semi-literate Nigeria Army and their crass commanders. And you can see that from the statement they have released and some they will release in the coming days.

Operation Python I, they administer Medical help. Yes or No.

Operation Crocodile Smile, they also included Medical outreach on one side while making hell rain the creek with people dying.

Operation Awatse in Ogun state records 100s of militant dead. It comes with medical outreach to the civilians without any noise.

All these happened in the Southern Nigeria without noises and emotional rants.

These happened without the Army forcing anyone to take any substance. People did out of their own will, freely and open minded. No one was forced.

But you made some claims. You said the Army cannot be trusted to coerce Children. Did the Army force any Child to take medical care? Provide picture or link where the Army forced children to take any substance.
How many Igbos were killed in the first python dances compare to the second? What was the level of acrimony during the first and second?
Perhaps, our level of enlightenment and awareness clearly are on a different level. We don't see through same lens as you hypocritic lots. We (Igbos) are not like the rest of you gullible people who don't know their left from their right. You can's kill our fathers and forcefully inject our children. You are entitled to your opinion at the end bro. I'm not affected in anyway by whatever trauma and apprehension you put yourselves and your kids through in a bid to score a political point which always end up as an own goal.
You don't even have any information, and you are here spilling your guts out on what clearly doesn't affect you. Well, let the military take whatever they have and go give them to your children, kiths and kin.

South East people are enlightened enough to understand at no one has the right to inject their wards (whether for vaccination, or blood test) without their express consent. We don't send our ill children to school by the way, so the semi-literate Nigeria army clearly don't have a clue what they are doing in South East schools in the name of medical outreach. Away with your greek's gift.

Perhaps parents in Ogbomosho, and State of O'Osun will be more gullible.

Since when did medical outreach = injection?

Does anything in the picture below indicate an injection or vaccine? The last outreach in the SS involved free multivitamins, cough syrups, mosquito nets, condoms, free blood pressure checks etc.

Where is the evidence that the Army went to schools, forcing needles into the butt of pupils, without the approval of school management or parents?

The Military guys went to their field with medical expert and are stationed in a location. Anyone who wills to be treated will simply walk to them and get treatment. There is no evidence thay anyone was forced to be treated
The military started on a very wrong footing, and evidence of their atrocities are still being compiled. Either the military is led by some illiterate or the bulk of them are semi-literates. These men who kill and lie about it, simply cannot be trusted not to coerce the children into being injected with unknown substance. The people didn't trust their motive and they withdrew their wards.

As far as this goes, this is a failed project, they should come back at a another time, or better still hand-over to civilian authorities. We know greek's gift when we see one.
