you can apply without an exam but you'll need exams to get admitted. So you can start your application now and submit test scores later.

I choose to be happy, cos I owe myself that. Good news on your AWA! Great score there!

You've been calling those profs, or emailing them? Your best bet is to call them, send them texts, just anything, that doesn't require email. Even though they would still have to send those LORs via email. Better still, I suggest you choose a day. Try to get those email requests from your target schools in their emails first. Get your PC down to your school, and do all you can to make them do it. I think it's easier that way.

And yes, letters from faculty members weigh a whole lot more than from any other source. Why? Grad programs don't give a damn about our character, extracurriculars, or other soft skills. Of course, it would be nice to have those, but then they're interested in your research experience and/or potential. The rule of thumb is for every 3 letters, 2 should come from those you've worked closely with in research-heavy environments or something similar.

Good luck!
schools are usually specific in the lor they require, some request solely academic ref while some go with professional and academic.
I have never served on any admission committee and I don't think any one on here has but following the instructions on the portal of the school pays and you can get professional info on quora

I was at jkk to take toefl this morning. I must say the real exam was a little bit more difficult than I expected.
The questions for both the listening and reading sections wer a little bit confusing, infact the only section I found very easy was the writing section.
I used roughly five days to prepare for the test and from my experience, I dnt thnk it requires a lot of time, its just about having a strategy for answering questions (Notefull videos really helped). So I'm thankful I didnt spend so much time studying.
I just hope I get up to my target score.
I took the test the same day, thanks for the person that shared the magoosh account, although magoosh is way tougher than the actual test. Cracking the toefl by Princeton is the best prep for the toefl in my opinion

Which rich? They are so carried away by the pictures and the bright views. I literally went off social media and changed my number cos I was getting too many overwhelming messages even from people I don't know, asking me about how they can come here or telling me to send money.

I still use my naira master card here. Atleast I stopped after the exchange rate went crazy. Well, that helped my spending. I don't know my issues with clothes and shoes. I buy now, I hate in two weeks.

How the hell will you come to America with $300. There is no Aluta in US. You don't pay fees, you get purged out straight.
This cracked me up, lmao, ALUTA !!!!!!!.

Hello House.
You guys are amazing.
Please does anyone know universities in america that would accept 2.4 cgpa for graduate degree admission for a student from a Nigerian university and not also require Test of english results , GMAT, GRE or require translation of university transcripts by WES.
Thanks so much.
you might end up with a professional masters, but try searching using Google. You should also state your field that way you might get specific help. You should also try to have a semester you are working towards so you'll see if you could even give some tests a try. I'm sure you can if you have time on your side

Ndawe,
With your cgpa, you'd get into a good school here.
I have a friend with a similar GRE score doing her PhD in a good school.
Are you coming for fall 2017?
Information is very pertinent, thanks for the motivation you gave, in addition to what you said I would like to add that a top GRE score is good, it helps one stand out in the pack but only GRE doesn't make a good application, the overall application does. Be informed, research schools, get an academic fitted resume with required experience, get a strong sop to bolster you choice and show your clear goals and direction. Establish good communication with the grad coord to know about funding, space, and deadlines or extensions.

A minimum GRE score is usually set for programs but funding from your department most times depends on its availability and your program. A 340 might not mean being funded.

The importance of a high gre score can't be over emphasized, it opens doors and creates better options

Too late, boss. You should seriously consider shifting to a later date. 2-3 months of consistent prep is the rule, not the exception for the GRE. Still, you can check the first post on this thread for what you'll need >> https://www.nairaland.com/1832477/how-achieve-high-scores-gre

Good work! First off, I urge to consider quit writing like this, it doesn't much add up to your ambitions as a decent grad student. You must have been pretty motivated during your UG days, for the Prof to think you're really good without the GRE. He might be seriously considering you for a Teaching Assistantship position, hence the TOEFL. To that end, you'd need to score particularly high on your Speaking section, while not losing grips in the other sections.

I think the cheapest you'll get is with B Y Mafit Nig. for 50k. Google them, you'll see how to register. Do your due diligence though, as I've only read their reviews, not actually registered through them.

Cheers!

The Nigerian uber drivers will soon shut down uber. I am so certain about it. I don't no how they are able to turn of the meter. I took one and he told me that anytime I need a cab I should just call him and I don't have to pay so much. That it will be his personal money and time. From what he said, that means they also do personal businesses at the expense of uber and possibly manipulate the meter!!!!
Which meter, the agreement between the driver and uber is via the app, we get you clients from our app we take 25%.

At the end of the day, some drivers can go offline and go around their normal 100% hustle, they are not cheating uber that way. Well most drivers are on different portals like taxify and Co, so you do what favours you. When it's not that uber is the one that leased or bought a vehicle for you

You think uber is a saint Abi?

Apply wisdom to this selling and buying of bed space on Nl, don't go out as quickly as you have just come in... Be smart and do it on the lowest key, and don't rush for so many greedy folks here, when you finally get into school you'll get a space, you'll make friends, get even affordable rates... Boys usually don't have problems
