It is home like no other. I can travel from East to West and from North to South, but no place like home. No place like Lagos, the ever busy, ever bustling city. I miss bus conductors shouting, calling passengers, I miss sachet water vendors running around, I miss head-packers (Alabaru) pushing you with their loads in the streets of Lagos Island, I miss area boys collecting dues (owo-ile) in Idumota. I miss Oshodi, Ojuelegba, Iyana - Ipaja, Mushin, Shitta, Campus etc. Oh, I miss Naija.

The only country in the world, where leaders will be corrupt with impunity and still come out to beat their chest, the place where millions live below $1 per day and a few ride in private jets and exotic cars; If the jets and cars were bought with money from their sweat, I'll care less, but most of them are being bought with money from the 'national cake', which is supposed to be every man's right. The country where you can do almost anything and get away with it, as long as you know how to dine with the Cabals. The place where 'cabalocracy' and 'lootocracy' are the courses the youths want to study in the universities.

But wait, are the leaders only to be blamed, are all these misappropriation and maladministration being perpetrated just by these few or they are being helped, helped by You? Yes you. The words of Lagbaja's song comes to mind; "200 million mumu". Are we not the ones? The ones who cast our votes for the highest bidder; with 1000 Naira hidden in 70 Naira Agege bread, we sell our present and future. Are we not the ones who cast our votes for the free spending candidate without asking what his occupation is? Are we not the ones, who sit back and cross our legs, satisfied as our resources are being raped over and over again? Are we not the ones who come 2015, will line up to collect bread, a cup of rice and our usual 1000 Naira? Maybe with the expected advent of 5000 Naira note, we might be upgraded to 1500.

People, think deep and hard. Is this the Nigeria you want? Is this the hope of our future, Is there a way out, what can be done, must we all expect the non functioning government at all levels provide for our basic needs? Hmmm, No! I don't think we should.

I have no answer to the issues raised above and if I do, what is the assurance that I will be listened to? What is the assurance that my tiny voice will be heard when great men have come and gone telling us the same things, what is the proof that the 200 million mumu's are not enjoying being swayed like leaves on the sea, what is the surety that we will change? NONE!

Instead of giving you an answer, I rant. I rant, so that we can begin to think, to create a thought process as individuals and collectively which will enable us channel a way out of this mess. To think of what legacy we want to leave behind to the unborn children of tomorrow, to think of what the future will be if we continue on this path. To imagine this continuous steady rot of our identity as a nation. To think of what we as a nation can achieve if everything is working accordingly, to dream and act our dream of a great Nigeria, a great future which no doubt begins WITH YOU.

I opened shop for my real estate practice in 2008 and I can beat my chest that I have never ever and never will request a client to pay consultation or form fee. Its absolutely unprofessional in my books. Even the period when I just started out and wasn't making anything, I never asked a client for calls money or t-fare. Late in 2008, I trekked from Admiralty Road (not Admiralty Way) in Lekki 1 to Bonny Camp before taking a bus to Lagos Island because I exhausted my funds on call credits and was 'too proud' and not willing to debase myself in front of a client or fellow agent by asking for t-fare.
I believe its more of an attitude, standards or character thingy to say you won't and you don't. Funny enough, I have paid agent's t-fares to come and show my clients properties.

And God has been faithful because I keep getting referrals from my clients, both the ones who closed through me and the ones who didn't. Also, clients who appreciate the impeccable service I try to provide sometimes appreciate me by giving me money after viewing, even before agreeing to take a property or not.

All said, most of us are bad, unprofessional, dirty etc, but definitely not all of us and I can stand tall to say I am one of the standout few.

Thanks for your exposition, it has really been enlightening, only it bored me towards the end because of the 'big' science parlance. I managed to read it to the end though and gained insight into several issues.

I used to have attacks for as far back as I can remember, from my primary school days to even after I graduated from the university in 2008. From my dreams to a semi-conscious state on until I attain full consciousness, I will lie down on the bed and be unable to move even a finger. All my body will be very heavy as if a huge invisible weight is compressing me, I'll be unable to turn my head, unable to move a finger, unable to utter a word, I'll sometimes feel my mouth being drawn apart as if they are trying to tear it up (I always feel the physical pain when am released). There are times when I will find myself in a battle area and at first I'll be at the forefront of trying to escape, all of a sudden, I'll begin to slow down while still making laboured efforts to keep up and not be left behind, but eventually they would leave without me. Also, I used to dream and feel myself flying, it normally starts with me standing or walking along and gradually I'll begin to feel a slow breeze lift me off the ground into the air. I used to enjoy that as a child, until I started growing older and it began to get uncontrollable and it would attempt to carry me away or hang me on high tension wires.

All these came to an end in September 2009, when I rededicated my life to Christ. Please know that I have been a christian all my life, a member of the choir and one of the leading youths in my church from my teenage years, but what was missing was a personal relationship with my God and therefore the absence of the Holy Spirit.

In January 2010, I failed to see temptation for what it is and committed fornication. And lo and behold they came back, even if I have a short nap in the afternoon, I will be tormented. Not until I realised my folly by mid February 2010 and crept back to the Throne of Grace before I was finally liberated.

From then till now, nothing like tormenting again. Even as I'll finish writing this and go to bed, I am overconfident that I will sleep peacefully like a new born baby and wake up early in the morning raring to go because I carry a fire no demon, power, principality or witch nor wizard can contend with and also because it is written about me in Psalm 127 : 2 that "He giveth His beloved (me) sleep.

Beware, demons are for real.
