Crime has no tribe, race or religion. Although the penchant to get rich by anyhow-means is someone more on some quaters but that does not mean that crime is not ubiquitous.

This is democracy; there MUST be freedom of speech.
If I may ask: Is it part of Anti-corruption crusade that warranted about N1.599b to be approved for renovation (Inspection, replacement of expansion joints where necessary, and painting) of 3rd Mainland bridge? Nevertheless, we want the bridge renovated, but should it cost a total of N18.87b?

Times without number I have warned those willing to go to US to proper home work.
Perhaps the guy was working himself out on realising that the medical bill is not a joke; more so that none of the Family member has social security.
State of Maryland do not give discount on Child bearing hospital bill. It cost about $13,000 for hassles free normal delivery. Starting point of CS is $24,000!
Trust me you must pay all your bills.
Meanwhile, after delivery there are compulsory bill-tagged checks on the child which must be done within 3-5 days.
Remember throughout the period all the family member would eat and pay their bills.
Nothing is free in US except the air you breathe in.
Also, US is not Nigeria as you'll hardly fund someone to help because majority are struggling.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND FINDINGS WELL BEFORE YOU TRAVEL TO US.
RIP to the struggling guy.

Religion / Re: Comedians Shouldn't Be Allowed To Perform In Churches - Lagos Pastor (Video) by POPVT: 12:55pm On Apr 26, 2017

now down to business

Christianity and churches in Nigeria is comdey

what could be more funny than a Nigerian believing the son of a Jewish folklore carpenter killed in a small Israeli village 2000 years ago died for their sins when the Jews themselves don't buy that?

do these people know that there are far more Muslims and Judaism adherents in Israel than there are Christians?

The religious affiliation of the Israeli population as of 2011 was 75.4% Judaism, 16.9%
Muslim , 2.1% Christian , and 1.7% Druze , with the remaining 4.0% belonging to minor faiths such as Samaritanism, Baha'iism or no religion

these are people whose ancestors lived during the time and saw this Jesus live and die but they don't believe he was dying for them

but a Nigerian read from a book and concluded that the Jews are wrong because logic favours storytelling over experiencing something, Amirite you must know Goodluck Jonathan more than the people living with and around him because you read newspapers and check internet for news about him

just try to imagine how funny its gonna sound if you travel to the US and see most Americans worshipping Murtala Mohammed, saying he died for them grin

every Nigerian Christian is a comedian tongue

Education / Ecstasy In Ibadan As Diesel And Kerosine Are Produced Cheaper From Waste Plastic by POPVT: 3:02pm On Sep 15, 2016
http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/09/15/ecstasy-in-ibadan-as-institute-exhibits-diesel-kerosene-produced-from-plastics/

Ibadan, the ancient capital city of Oyo State, was agog wednesday as the Education Advancement Centre (EAC) released a set of chemical products derived from waste plastics and cans.

The products include diesel, kerosene and alum which were made from waste plastic and cans instead of crude oil.

The firm launched the products at an exhibition at its Bodija headquarters, which was one of the activities marking its 20th anniversary.

The products, which come at a cheaper cost, according to the director, Mr Muyiwa Bamgbose, would also reduce environmental destruction through the use of the non-degradable materials as raw materials.

Bamgbose said rather than relying on oil, which was quite expensive, the waste materials, which were available in huge quantity, were far cheaper.

For instance, he said a litre of its kerosene and diesel would cost N120 instead of the average of N200 they were being sold nationwide.

But EAC is not willing to go into large scale production. Rather, the firm is looking for investors or manufacturers that can produce at that level that will meet the needs of Nigerians.

Bamgbose, in an interview with reporters, said: “For the diesel and kerosene, we call them green products. They are made from waste thermosetting plastics which do not have any recycle value. The non-thermosetting plastics can be recycled but thermosetting are useless. From those thermosetting plastics, we have been able to produce kerosene that can reduce the cost of fuel and get our environment cleaner because they are non-degradable.

“The other part is the aluminium from cans. When people finish drinking from aluminium cans, they throw them away. Some compress them and export. But this is something that is more useful to us in Nigeria. When we export the aluminium, we later import chemicals to produce alum whereas this aluminium cans have alum content which we extracted into aluminium hydroxide and reacting it with sulphuric acid, we are able to produce alum that is useful for water treatment and others. Water works need alum to make water cleaner. We have been able to put all these together based on basic science coupled with research and development. We believe that is the function of education. Education should research and find new solutions to new problems.

“Right now, it is at a pilot scale. We can produce about 500 litres of kerosene and diesel per day. We are able to produce a trailer load of alum in two days. We will begin to offer the products in the next few days.

“We have approached the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for quality control and standardisation and they are happy to visit our factory.

“But we are not interested in producing in large scale. We are looking for factories or investors that will do that. We will just sell the licence to them and they can produce in large scale for Nigerians. They will end up helping our environment by ridding it of the wastes which have constituted nuisance all over the country. If we find people who are willing to finance the production, we will give them the licence and the know-how.

“We will serve as technical partners to them because these processes are not static. We went through various processes to arrive at where we are. That also tells us that we cannot stop at where we are today. We are never satisfied with whatever we achieve.

“Even for the kerosene and diesel, while we are saying it is a licensing model we are looking at whereby we will be involved continuously, we may find a better way of doing it. When we started we were using naked flame to heat. Now, we are using electric energy. That’s why we want to participate rather than just sell technology to users. Manufacturers will need to continue to upgrade the process. The same for the aluminium from cans. We are willing to participate so that continuously we can improve on the products.”

On sustainability, Bamgbose said plastic use had become part of modern life, meaning that they will continue to be there in large number. He added that the technology is completely home-made while the Nigerian population would continue to need the products.

After participating in the exhibition which also featured some educational materials, including software and other educational technological materials, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, said the products developed by the firm showed that there was great future for Nigeria.

This is a calculated attempt by MultiChoice and Co- sponsor to subtly sow the seed of Sodomy in on a large scale which may take up to 10years before our Children would start clamouring for it. Our God shall frustrate all the Ahitophel-like counsel upon this Country. Kudos to our NCC. Moreover, somebody must be made to answer some questions because MultiChoice knows Nigeria Law. No Nigeria dear try anything against their own Law.

Politics / Fashola Disagrees With VP Namadi Sambo Over Heavy Taxation by POPVT: 2:32am On Dec 31, 2014
http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=97866.

The Lagos State Government has said the statement credited to Vice President Namadi Sambo that people were leaving the state in droves as a result of the heavy taxes imposed on them by the All Progressives Congress-led administration in the state, is untrue and ‘lacking in facts’.

In a statement on Monday by the Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on Information and Strategy, Lateef Raji, the government wondered how the vice president, who was not known for courting controversy, could make such a statement.
It, therefore, advised Mr. Sambo, to in the future, make “simple greetings” instead of making “non-residential claims that are lacking in facts”.

Raji said the state government had been innovative in the management of its Internally Generated Revenue, adding that “attendant improved and consistent performance over the years will continue to be mind-boggling for all those who do not appreciate the need to move from the past and adopt innovations in order to improve the lot of the society”.

He said, “The fact remains that Lagos continues to attract the inflow of people like the bee to the honey, in pursuit of their means of livelihood daily. The Lagos State Government had for long realised that the state, with its enormous social and economic potential, cannot continue to depend on the allocation from the Federation Accounts if it must deliver on the popular expectations.

“Measures were then introduced to drive efficiency in the tax assessment and collection regimes by effectively plugging loopholes and leakages in the system. The result was the leap in the accruable to the coffers of the state government”.

Raji added that the state government had embarked on infrastructure upgrades to meet the critical areas of need like never experienced before.

“At any given time, not less than two hundred roads, not leaving out those of the Federal Government, are being executed.

“The Vice President is not known for courting controversies, but as a junior partner in Nigeria’s uninspiring Presidency, he cannot but speak during public engagements. Rather than join the gabby gang in Abuja, simple greetings and a few compliments will do instead of making non-residential claims that are lacking in facts”, he said.

Raji further added that the state government would be willing to provide Sambo with accurate data that could assist him to make informed deductions.

I guess that was the Intent of the Islamic Bank 'they' Created.
The only time they had the opportunity to showcase the so called Interest free Banking, they clearly demonstrated what the religion is meant for. Your guess is as good as mine. No one can convince me that Islam is a religion of Peace. Anyway, Peace may mean another thing in their dictionary.
Politics / Ex-cbn Top Official Funded Boko Haram by POPVT: 4:32am On Sep 14, 2014
Australian hostage negotiator, Davis Stephen, has again issued another daring statement after 72 hours of his claim that a former Borno governor, and an unnamed retired army chief were sponsors of Boko Haram.

The statement by the Perth-based international adviser, who for four months was involved in negotiations on behalf of the federal government with commanders of the Boko Haram for the release of over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the sect last April, referred to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Azubuike Ihejirika.

In an interview with TheCable, Stephen, said a Senior official of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, who just left the country’s apex bank handled the financial transactions of the sect group.

His words: “One of the biggest of suppliers of arms and military uniforms to the JAS (Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, better known as Boko Haram) currently lives in Cairo, Egypt. He is the recipient of money sent by political sponsors from Nigeria.

“The funds go through the CBN’s financial system and appear to be a legal transaction. Meanwhile, the CBN official who handles the funding is an uncle to three of those arrested in connection with the Nyanya bombings. The three boys lived with him.

“They were arrested by the SSS (Department of State Security) after the bombings but they do not seem to have been interrogated about their uncle in CBN. Or if they have given up information about their uncle, then the SSS has not moved against him.”

The expert in negotiations added that, “Also, a senior official of CBN, who recently left the bank, was very close to Sodiq Aminu Ogwuche, the mastermind of the Nyanya bombings who also schooled in Sudan.

“Boko Haram Commanders said Ogwuche’s wife used to visit this top official in his office at the headquarters of the bank in Abuja before the Nyanya bombings. They were very close,” Davis said.

He said he is speaking out now because he feels the Federal government is doing little in the rescue of the missing Chibok girls.

“I have three daughters. I just cannot stand the thought of what those girls are passing through.

“I have spoken to an escapee who described how she was being raped for 40 days by militants. I can’t stand it. It is heart-breaking. Nigerian authorities must act decisively now,” Stephen urged
