PoliticsWhy Jonathan’s Book ‘my Transition Hour’ Is A Disaster – Presidency by poscabafash(op): 8:55pm On Nov 24, 2018
The Presidency has described the book authored by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, ‘My Transition Hour’ as a “disaster.”

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said there were lots of confusion in the publication.

Appearing on THISDAY sister television station, ARISE Television’s News Tonight at the weekend, Shehu stressed that the book should never have been written in the first place.

According to Shehu, “I have read online that some of his former ministers have come out to say that they never said he must not hand over.

“And of course, we have seen some statements coming from him. So, we have seen a lot of confusions in the publication.

“And then, was that what he was set out to achieve? I am not sure that anyone will write a book simply to cause confusion.

“I think that from all the actions we are getting, I think the only person Mr. Jonathan didn’t blame in that book is his wife.

“He blamed everybody under the sun for the things that went wrong with his election, for how he lost. So, therefore, I think that book is a disaster. It shouldn’t have been written.”

Politics”buhari Deserves Second Term” by poscabafash(op): 2:06pm On Nov 23, 2018
Alhaji Bello Dantani, a lawmaker representing Argungu/Augie in Kebbi state at the House of Representatives, says President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term following his numerous achievements in office.

Dantani made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Birni-Kebbi, on Friday.

The lawmaker, who earlier had a closed door meeting with Gov. Atiku Bagudu, said the improved security situation in the state is one of the Buhari’s main achievements in office.

“I can vividly recall in 2014 when Boko Haram insurgents unleashed mayhem in my constituency in Argungu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
“A relative of mine died in the attack, which I had never imagined the security situation then could deteriorate to.
“The insurgency had spilled off from Borno state to Kebbi state,” Dantani said.

According to him, the APC- led government has now nipped the security situation in the bud, not only in the state but in many states in the Northern part of the country.

Dantani refuted allegation from opposition parties that the security situation had not improved in the state in particular and the country in general.
“Many of us have not forgotten when insurgency attacks reached Kano, Sokoto, Niger states, among others.

“We don’t have such attacks now. Isn’t that an improvement in the security situation?
“We should also not be unmindful of the fact that the agricultural revolution of Buhari, has helped our teeming unemployed youths and made our state, a leading rice producer in the country.
“All these are courtesy of Buhari’s administration,” he said.

The lawmaker called on people from his constituency, to massively rally round and support APC, in order to move the state and country forward come 2019 general elections

Politics2019: President Buhari Promises Increased Internet Access by poscabafash(op): 10:14am On Nov 22, 2018
As the 2019 general election campaigns begin, President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration is committed to granting increased internet access to the poorest in the society.

The information is in the President Buhari and Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo’s Next Level Campaign Guide for 2019.

According to the guide, the efforts of government in the past few years enabled internet access and promoted local content, especially among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government.

It stated that “following the Vice President’s visit to Silicon Valley, U.S., where he visited the headquarters of some leading global technology companies, he met Google officials.

“He met with Google Chief Executive Officer, Sundar Pichai, and its top executives in July and the global tech company now provides free Wi-fi access in several public places in Nigeria.

“This initiative will bridge societal gaps by providing free internet access to some of the poorest in the society.

“It will grant access to information, tools of education, improved business and job opportunities and expansion for many Nigerians.”

It further said that the free internet access was in line with the administration’s plan to improve the country’s technology sector and leverage on the gains that a data-driven digital economy could offer.

It added that Information Communication Technology (ICT) was the new oil, adding that oil revenues were no longer sustainable.

The guide indicated that the first free Wi-fi sites were rolled out in some parts of Lagos State.

Corroborating President Buhari’s achievements, Mrs Titi Akinsomi, Google Nigeria Public Policy Lead, said “Google is highly committed to granting internet access to Nigerians.

“We are here to develop to make the promise of the digital economy a reality in Nigeria.”

Akinsomi recognised that internet access was like a venture and the company was targeting 200 free Wi-Fi sites in the country in the next one year.

Akinsomi further said that “we are being deliberate about going to where there is need: we have been doing a lot of training in digital skills and development training skills, we follow the people.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Vice President Yemi Osibanjo in July embarked on a three-day tour of the world’s technology capital, the Silicon Valley in the U.S., to learn and to boost the country’s new investments in evolving technology and entertainment sectors.

All of them are scammers. Since we haven't tried youth since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, I believe the time is getting closer everyday.

Politics''buhari Would Rather Lose Than Rig 2019 Elections'' - Femi Adesina by poscabafash(op): 12:42pm On Nov 21, 2018
Femi Adesina who is the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, has said that President Buhari would rather lose the 2019 presidential election than rig it.
Adesina said this when he appeared on ARISE TV on Tuesday, November 20th.

“I’m surprised that this president has been with you for three and half years and yet you do not seem to know him. If anybody would rig election or anything, it will not be President Muhammadu Buhari. He would rather even prefer to lose fair and square. He has even said it before that if the only thing he would leave as a legacy for Nigeria is free and fair election, he would do it. Forget that the election would be rigged, that will not happen.” he said

PoliticsEx-npdp Spokesperson, Reveals Those Who Allegedly Wanted Buhari Dead In London by poscabafash(op): 7:04pm On Nov 16, 2018
A former Spokesperson of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has revealed that those peddling the narrative of cloned or ‘fake Buhari’ leading Nigeria are gullible mischief makers.

He said that the same individual had prayed for President Muhammadu Buhari’s death while he was receiving treatment in a London hospital earlier in the year.

Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, said this in a statement he signed, where he also revealed that the narrative had been part of the strategies of those who have plundered the nation’s wealth without conscience before President Buhari came in to end their reign of unchecked stealing.

Eze said the authors of the narrative had hoped that the president would not return alive from his prolonged sick leave abroad, but were shocked to see him back healthier and pushing the anti-corruption campaign more vigorously, adding that their ‘plan B’ was taking advantage of the gullible and hateful, selling them a story that has become the butt of jokes across the world.

He said, “These misguided fellows, who are products of the dismantled looting system that looted our common patrimony with impunity, would have loved to see President Buhari dead so that the efforts to recover their looted lot will be impossible, but unfortunately for them through the prayers of some innocent children of God that include the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby and Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who visited him in London, and other religions leaders he survived to their uttermost shame and chagrin.

Eze highlighted that, “those peddling this falsehood are despicable and doubters of the ability of God to heal should take consolation in the words of Archbishop of Canterbury who later personally received the Nigerian president at Lambeth Palace, London stating that he was delighted to see the rapid recovery Mr. Buhari has made from his health challenges, noting that it was a testimony to the healing powers of God, and answer to prayers of millions of people round the world.

“President Muhammadu Buhari who thanked Pastor Adeboye for visiting him saying on his twitter handle ‘thank Pastor Adeboye for visiting today, and for his prayers and good wishes. May God continue to bless him and his work’”

According to Eze, others that visited President Buhari during this period were the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara
Apart from his Media Team, the State Governors, some selected Ministers and the then Acting-President Yemi Osinbajo led the stream of visitors.

Eze wonders how all these high ranking personalities couldn’t detect the ‘fake President’ and regretted that instead of us rejoicing that President Muhammadu Buhari survived their evil plot they resorted to cheap blackmail of trying to cast doubt and aspersion on the person and personality of President Buhari”, he said.

Eze also described the onslaught on the person of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as mischievous, unpatriotic, evil, demonic and unacceptable, saying “how could a foreigner, as claimed by these mischief makers, come in to act as the President of Nigeria without either the wife of the President or his children raising alarm over such an unislamic and unholy act?

“How could he have known both the president’s home in Kastina, recognize all the political actors in Nigeria, including his ministers and governors. Proponents of this satanic game should understand that Nigerians are aware, wise people and not fools who will accept such a dubious and diversionary strategy”, he said.

Eze recalled the statement of Mr Yakubu Dogara the Speaker of the House of Representatives, “Today we visited His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari. I am glad that he is doing well. His health has improved tremendously. I urge all Nigerians to continue to pray and offer thanks to God for answered prayers and for the safe return of Mr President.

“We must give thanks to God for this highly welcomed recovery. It is clear that Mr. President’s insistence on following his doctors’ advice has yielded the desired results. Mr. President exhibited remarkable recovery and was very conversant with all the political happenings back at home and across the continent.”
Eze, therefore, counselled the egg heads in PDP to come up with serious campaign issues instead of such elementary and awkward diversionary styles of blackmailing.

He also assured Nigerians that President Buhari’s survival was divine as enemies of Nigeria never expected him to survive, adding, “with all the great works his administration is doing to revive our economy: revival of the power sector, agriculture, roads and rail line and many others, Nigeria should be ready to ensure that he is reelected to avoid taking us back to the era of looting system of government associated with PDP leadership.”

PoliticsIgbo Leaders Should Play Wise Politics, Support APC - Okorocha by poscabafash(op): 9:28am On Nov 16, 2018
IMO State Governor Rochas Okorocha has urged Igbo leaders to avoid what he called indiscriminate adoption of candidates ahead of the 2019 general elections without considering its implication.

Okorocha, who spoke on the background of the reported endorsement of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar by a section of Igbo leaders, warned that such action could be costly
He stated that President Muhammadu Buhari will still win the election.

Okorocha’s stance came as more Nigerians expressed mixed reaction on the Igbo leaders’ endorsement of Atiku.

A statement issued by the Imo State governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, read in part: “Following the reported adoption of the PDP presidential candidate by Igbo leaders led by Prof. Ben Nwabueze, Governor Okorocha has advised the leaders and other relevant groups in Igboland to toe the path of wisdom and avoid the indiscriminate adoption of candidates.”

Onwuemeodo quoted the governor as saying: “My advice is that Igbo leaders should toe the path of wisdom and should not come again adopting a candidate. Mine is an advice that the Igbos should be careful not to play the same type of very bad politics we played in the past, which most of the times, kept us in political wilderness.

“As a people, we must be wise now and never foreclose the possibility of any presidential candidate becoming the President tomorrow.

The governor stated: “I am here also to inform the whole world that I am still in APC and the APC candidate for Orlu Zone Senatorial election. Nothing has changed towards that. This is to correct some misinformation and rumours that might be going on from time to time in some quarters. I believe in this APC and I founded APC and will remain in APC to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming elections. I support President Buhari’s presidential ambition one hundred per cent and I am convinced that he will emerge victorious in the 2019 general election.”

Okorocha asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to verify the court order brought by Chief Hope Uzodinma for which he was listed as the Imo State APC governorship candidate.

He said the verification became necessary “to find out the authenticity or otherwise of the court order”, insisting that the court order in question might have been forged.

Also yesterday, Voice of Nigeria (VON) Director-General Osita Okechukwu frowned at the endorsement of Atiku and Peter Obi joint ticket by some eminent Igbo leaders.

Okechukwu said no matter the level of endorsement, Buhari stands a better chance in the forthcoming 2019 presidential election.

The VON boss, who is also an APC chieftain, described the development as “not the most viable option”.

Okechukwu said: “Without being immodest, Professor Nwabueze and co’s option is 2nd rate to Igbo presidency in 2023, if actually they want to finally address the age long marginalisation of Ndigbo and create sense of belonging…

“On the serious side of the political coin, one can sincerely state that there is no better way to once and for all create a sense of belonging for Ndigbo better than harvesting the rotation of president convention.

By extension, there is no better way to actualising level playing field, equity and natural justice than voting for Buhari in 2019, as voting for him will make his supporters to vote for us. His cult followership is mostly from the North. He is “Ekwom Ibe”, meaning a man trusted by his people. And when we talk of 2023, Buhari’s remaining four years is cast in constitutional stone more than Atiku’s pledge.”

But the Lagos State chapter Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Roy Olokungboye, said as far as he was concerned, “it is a free world and every Nigerian is free to support any candidate of their choice”.

A chieftain of Anambra State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Charles Amilo, believes the Igbo leaders committed a political blunder by endorsing Atiku.

He said: “They have made a big mistake; they are taking their personal hatred for Buhari too far. This is a time to stand akimbo, otherwise the support for Peter Obi might be a worse disaster, compared to what happened when they followed former President Goodluck Jonathan sheepishly.”

National Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie, does not subscribe to the view that what took place in Enugu on Wednesday was an Igbo endorsement of Atiku.

He said: “I would not describe what happened in Enugu yesterday as a support of the Igbo for Atiku. The endorsement that took place yesterday was done by Igbo people in the PDP and their traditional partners called the CUPP, particularly those who benefitted immensely from the PDP government.”

Former Lagos State Police Commissioner. Abubakar Tsav said those who endorsed Atiku in the Southeast have their reasons.

He said: “We are in a democracy and everybody is free to support anyone they like. But, we should not be carried away; those who endorsed Atiku have their reasons for doing so.

“Atiku served under Obasanjo and the former President has given us a report on him in his recent books, where he described his former deputy as corrupt. The point is, the man has a lot of money to spend. If we recollect during the PDP convention, where he emerged, there were reports of dollars exchanging hands.”

Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Lanre Razak said Nigeria has passed the stage of politics based on ethnic colouration or support.

“The Igbo leaders should be more patriotic and more Nigerian than being sectional. Rather than saying that the entire Igbo nation is supporting one party or leader, they should be more liberal in their disposition,” Razak said.
