@Noble1010, there has never been any support for most if not all of the Chinese STBs found in the Naija market.

The ViewSAT vrt4950h in question never fully upgraded with the compatible s/w. The ViewSAT vrt4922HD is different since it has a Serial Number it could mean the mainboard is of a supported brand. Open up the decoder & snapshot the mainboard chassis ID.

Hello everyone, I'm a first timer here. I just got this old Strong decoder today (SRT 4669X II) with a dish (90cm). Pls gurus in the house, how good is this decoder and what should I do next? I bought it specifically to watch news, latest movies and music videos on FTA. your advice/opinion is going to be highly appreciated.
Your decoder is mpeg 4 decoder. You may be denied of some hd channels on some satellites. If you are in Lagos, reach me on 08060150782 or whatsapp me for any guidance you may need if you are outside Lagos

That's 51.5e, your satellite TV isn't h.265 compliant that's why you experience that. To get the best experience it's better you buy a standalone decoder.

please What can I do to make more stations to show becox my friend which I bought the TV from he was watching plenty STATIONS but his leaving in Lagos and I was leaving in ilorin Kwara state.. GURUS I SALUTE YOU.. PLEASE AND PLEASE COME AND HELP ME

To add to what dlolly said, the screenshot below , though not entirely
everything listed. But to a reasonable extent will give you some of what to expect by reviewing the channels on the said satellite position and its frequency.

Considering the geographical location (Nigeria) where we find ourselves. It all amounts to having a larger dish setup. Aka bud, to enable one have a nice feel to the plus side of having the decoder, besides the ability of giving one alternate means of viewing your favourite channels on your laptop, tablet or phone, anywhere around your compound or for as far as your Wi-Fi or hot-spot connection can go.

My brother, am always amazed at the level of your humanitarian gesture. I love you bro and thanks you for posting a comprehensive list of what the scam account can do.
checking through the list, I think satellites like 36e, 9e, 7w etc can still be done with 90/100cm dish if am not mistaken or which can be view with the 90cm or 1m dish?
@dlollyboi, thanks baba for always been there to help people out on the platform.

If you read through my post carefully, you will notice I said our Geographical location makes it impossible to receive the listed frequency on the sat with the dish size you mentioned.

Even though some frequencies on a particular sat seems receivable with small dish. But then you must be in that exact footprint and Nigeria don't fall into that category . Though the tp might look familiar to what we are used to receiving in Nigeria but it's actually for a different service provider whose footprint does not cover Nigeria . So tracking with small dishes is impossible.

Like the zap package on 36e can be tracked with the dish sized you mentioned if you are based in South Africa.

The nilesat package can still be done with such dish sized you mentioned for people living in North Africa

Hotbird package can still be done with 120cm dish size for people living in north Africa.

But down here in west Africa.. I guess people living in northern part of Nigeria will receive such or some with as low as 1.8 metre dish.

Anywhere else in Nigeria will start from as low as 2.4 to as high as 5 metre dish , depending on the proximity (location in Nigeria) to have a taste of those frequency.

Less I forget, it does not open any package in 9 east yet. That would have been nice though, because I hear of people receiving that sat with 1 metre dish size in Nigeria.

..... Just for educational purposes

No disputing that fact my bro.

Please be kind enough to give out the name of the LNB that does the magic. For the benefit of all. One love.
