Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch angry after his goal for Portugal vs Serbia in a 2-2 draw.

Ronaldo appeared to have won the game for Portugal when he played fired the ball into the net at the end.

But, Serbia defender Stefan Mitrovic ran back to play the ball off the line, and match officials ruled out the goal.

However, replays of the incident showed the ball did go over the line and Ronaldo was furious.

He complained to the match the officials before throwing the Portugal armband away and storming off the pitch.

Diogo Jota gave Portugal a quick 2-0 lead in the first but Serbia came back into the match and it ended 2-2.

This shouldn't be up for debate. its obviously a wrong call by the assistant ref......A staunch fan of LEO but not blind to the truth.

Its time to introduce goal line technology and VAR.

Sorry o, the only person thinking backwards is the one who is too emotional without capacity to analyze and evaluate assertions. Did you even understand what I typed Mr 16-bits brain?

Look at the image below, if you draw a straight line down from the outermost right circumferential edge of the ball, it looks like it will still touch the goal line, meaning the whole ball may not have crossed the line. How will the referee give such a goal when it was not completely clear and certain? Please learn to reason objectively for it will take you far. I'll say the same if it was Messi that was in this situation.

I watched the snippet of the controversial goal over and over again... honestly with the distance of the referee from the goal.. the referee will need the help of VAR to decide..

Y'all yelling at the referee should know that it all happened within a split second and not the paused or slow motion replay you are watching.. it's a hard decision to make without goal line technology

too bad bt I dnt blame d reff or lineman since var or goal line technology isn't available to help them..
it happened to messi against valencia and even lampard too in a world cup game n its a very frustrating experience...
I remember a good friend dts a refree in our league do say its better for d refree to council a supposed goal dt he isn't sure about even if it crossed d line than allowing d goal as long as him n his assistance ain't sure about it because they are not computers...
BT dt decision really pain me bcoz Portugal straight win was d last game for me to use small 7k take flex Sunday n one mumu reff jus spoil am..

well I didn't watch the match. But if the pictures above are true then the ball crossed with all the circumference.
