For those in UK, please which laptop would you recommend and what store or link....

PLs don't mention Dell as I am about to bin mine which is less than 1 year.

What is wrong with your Dell? Would you be willing to sell it to me for small money? My 7 year old has been on my neck for a computer for a while.

Re: the question try a MacBook Pro. Unless you don’t think it’s high performance enough for what you need it to do.

Buy a dell or Lenovo business/enterprise grade laptop. Not the consumer ones.

Or buy a MacBook

What would you be using the laptop for?

I will recommend PCSpecialist. You can customised or configure your laptop or pc to your desired level of our powerful you want your pc to be.
Am currently using a work laptop that was configured by them. Very powerful something.

Chromebook all the way! I have used an Acer chromebook for years for work and for play. They are cheap, practical and effective. I like the way they synchronize with google on my phone such that i still have access to it whilst away from it. I will never go back to using windows etc.

Honestly!

I bought a new one, logged in and automatically have everything in the old moved to the new acer.

Phone synchronization top notch.

Battery life, eternity.

Hi, I'm a bit curious. The high commission has been closed for passport renewal since December 22 last year. So, did your friend go to renew his/her passport or something else?

If this is true it really does not make sense. The high commission has been closed for a combination of many months due to the pandemic, how come they have run out of passport booklets.

Unfortunately and very sadly, the bolded is now the essence of Nigeria.
Buhari just arrived the HC, obviously he'll soon sort it out.

TheGuyFromHR:

1. Orienting yourself towards healthcare.
You can grab some cheap and quick certifications (NVQs) and start in at the lower levels, healthcare assistant, phlebotomist, etc.
Or depending on what you read in school and if you have the money to go back to school, there's nursing, physician associate, etc.

2. Or if you can skill yourself in IT-related pathways, all that coding and stuff.

In your shoes I would tweak my CV heavily and flesh out customer service experience (no matter how tenuous) and make those one of my targeted positions. The only upside of covid is the increase in positions that have now turned WFH.
Then look for a couple of certifications to anchor yourself. As you are in banking, think compliance and governance (all that KYC, AML stuff), tax law (don't do a masters o). These City people have so many dodgy clients, so they have to preach compliance loudly while they happily help them dishwash their money.

Then get some handwork if you can. Anything to get yourself outside on a daily. Even if you will be the designated babysitter/childcare specialist for a while, push them off to school and go and carry load in Tesco or something for a shift. Or babysit by day then go mail sorting or warehousing by night. Our Nigerian women dey try well well, tolerating our weird cultural practices and all that, but when you are the winner of bread you go show am.

@TheGuyFromHR How easy is it to transition to HR? Will you advise it? And what courses or steps can one take towards that?

Transitioning to HR is the easiest thing in the world, but I wouldn't necessarily advise it.
If you really wanted to do that, and since you're already coming to the UK, look more to taking a CIPD qualification than a masters.
