I am not sure you read the story or perhaps you did not understand it ma. These are people doing well in Nigeria yet travelled overseas and decided to cheat the system of their host country.
Not everyone wants to go Yankee ma. Not even by this crooked manner . All the preliminary signs are always there. A crocodile in Nigeria can't become a Tiger in UK/US. That Henry guy must have been breaking the laws but getting away with it in Nigeria, he just carried such obnoxious behaviour overseas and unfortunately for him, he now can't get away with it anymore.

If he is not a law breaker, he should have left UK and returned home rather than living the rest of his life as a fugitive.
When people create problems for themselves they should be honest to admit it instead of blaming others or their native country.

Some people are so good on their jobs here in Lagos that they are routinely sent overseas to work and they return home even before their visa expires.I sometimes cringe when I see some Nigerians hustling and getting paid far less for what they can earn here at home but too ashamed to come back home. It is never too late to come back home and rebuild especially when you see your life goals flashing away before you eyes. Why on earth will I want to spend years overseas as a menial job worker?
Well said...but please note that majority of people leaving the country is not only for greener pastures but for a working system. A system where you pay for energy you get it, you pay for water and you get it...the list is endless. Our system here doesn't support creative thinking but rather celebrate mediocrity and bigotry. Don't so much blame them, I could understand the pain some people pass thru in this country...may God Almighty heal our land.

A Serious something... Without Papers and Work. Permit how you won take get better Job or even pay Bills?!
I know of men wey don reach 40yrs wey go find one Technical school enroll just to get the 2yrs multiple student Visa to study.

True but Nigerians still help fellow naija abroad. There are loophole in the system people do cash at hand jobs, fellow naija help others with papers. My friend's girlfriend is a nurse in Sweden she gave her documents to fellow naija woman here to be using it to work she pays her £50 every week.

Remember students visa can only works ten hours a week wetin the pay want buy.

My suggestion to people is travel out if you don't like it you can always ho back home. What I have gained here is Hardworks beats talent also hardwork pays

God brought us to Nigeria and we felt as years goes by,previous years where better than now but our parents told us that thing were bad even when they gave birth to us,as days goes by,it looks like every year, the recent years where better than our tomorrow in Nigeria.

Why is it that most people who want to travel out of the country are mostly youth?

Why is that Nigeria is retrogressing rather than progress,? Look at every sector in Nigeria, does any of them give any sensible person hope?

Nigeria has been bastardised by our evil leaders,we met Nigeria cursed,we did not curse Nigeria,if really you want people to stop traveling for greener pastures, you will have to carry arms and stop praying that God stops evil politicians from looting ur generation dry, confront them and kill them, that's what will make any politician who get to the top to take his job serious by providing basic amenities for it citizens

Boris Johnson had covid last year he was treated in a public hospital. Nhs hospital shared the same wards with normal citizens.

Look at the vaccination he got his last week or two weeks ago he didnt jump the queue. But in naija president politicians are first in line before the poor pensioners in rural areas villages. Is that a country

I don't think he's okay , I really do not think so . My brother from the ops write-up he did not mention Canada . My brother has just relocated to Canada now with his family , this the 4 week running now . This is guy with paid job with a top bank in Nigeria and his wife a RN with a government establishments. If things were okay my brother and his family won't relocate . He sold his belongings and moved without looking back . So silly persons will not tell u Nigeria is not cursed . It really does not matter sir. It's just a matter of time, you will realise that you will get from Nigeria what you wish for Nigeria. You will get from Detroit same thing you wish for Detroit. I know someone who talks down on Nigeria like you and feels he has spent long enough overseas to insulate him from the curses he rains on his fatherland. When covid-19 swept people away in the UK, he was one of those who didn't make it back enough and the rest is history. He is 6 feet down below somewhere overseas not even his graveyard was seen by his relative here in Nigeria.
When he needed to run down to Nigeria, by providence, our airspace was shut and he was shut out. He got exactly the bad stuff he gives to the land and even both his living and dead did not make it back to Nigeria.
If you can't bless the Land, don't curse it because it will haunt you someday.
Money and character are two different things. If you don't have a proper upbringing, sadly, you can't buy it. Bibire o se fowora
What kinda rubbish talk is this? People don't die in Nigeria? Did people not die of covid in Nigeria? grin what an ignorant assertions. People die more in Nigeria than in the UK.

Nigeria is a shithole, even your president knows that hence he is here in The UK seeking medical treatment. Stop yarnning rubbish. grin

What do you mean " doing well"? Because you have a little money to flaunt around you call it doing well. Money is not everythimg tha6 is what you people are yet to understand. Just because you are satisfied with the condition of things in that shithole doesnt mean others have to be like you.
Come back and rebuild what? 200million of you cannot rebuild that shithole it is a few hundreds in diaspora that will build it successfully abi. The ones in diaspora that came back the likes of Jelani and NOI how have they succeeded in making any lasting change

My question sef is they say their life is cool. What is cool about living in a place with no healthcare. You have to travel some 7 hours to access quality health services. Lets talk of how they barricade themselves behing high fences and burglary proof bars like animals in a cage. For the country where I dey Iam yet to see a house with iron bars across their windows. Even in the rough neighbourhoods.

I have this to say... I understand the plight of so many Nigerians and that why we all want to travel overseas or abroad as sweet as we call it grin

Nonetheless, let no one insult Nigeria. We have leadership problem as we all know but at least Nigeria is a fucking free country with the best of weathers. People are making it big in Nigeria, people are getting jobs, doing businesses, helping others in need, building houses, etc.

How many of you pay for the water you use to bath and cook at home. Once you have a borehole or well.... Gbam. Water is plenty everywhere. Light is not stable i know, but at least you are happy. Steady electricity cannot be your source of joy.

But it is not some people fault why they still want to travel abroad after they see pictures of their colleagues on the streets of London with sneakers and a hood jacket. Nigerians over there don't snap in their place of work, they can only snap when they get to one street like that or when they there is snow and you will see the picture and without thinking twice, you are already asking God when you will travel Abroad like say Abroad na Heaven grin grin cheesy
