Quite a whole lot of past post to read from!
Was looking to see if those who heavily criticized UACN would be among the many, particularly those that were projecting a 2-3 entry price back then… but they have all disappeared. What a world we live in! wink cheesy grin

Felicitation to all those who keyed in @ btw N4.5-4.6 (when we 1st called it out here) up to an AP of N6-7 (a period which saw the price consolidate for quite some time) and were patient enough to reap their rewards.
For the mid to long term folks, UACN is a HOLD!
Raking off the peg from both the special div and UPDC REITS allotment (circa 55k + approx N1.27) the 65k actual div still carries a real return slightly higher than everything the fixed income space can offer. …more so, when UACN books is now even much more healthier.

For the short term folks, an added 15-37% premium from previous mkt close of N9.90 is feasible but with a 1-0.67 probability as u go up that premium (low to high)... so yes UACN can still rise from here!
That said, those journeying with the vehicle should do well to drop off @ their desired destination in line with their set out plan before embarking on it.

GSK is another that will very well reward the patient. With GSK, the clause “extremely under-priced” is the most fitting/perfect description. The just released YE 2020 financial print shows that even @ a price peg of N15, GSK will still have an MoS(RR in view) that can more than cover up for an above average risk premium.
As I stated here back then, those looking at the surface (EM effect, certain key profitability and growth indices) in the SoI will not see the HUGE VALUE therein. …unless u dig much much deeper into the coys CFS, then relate and where necessary benchmark against certain very pivotal lines in their BS.

Hear this; Even if an “emefielenical play” should increase yield at the fixed income space by over 2x and/or a fiscal play should push up surrounding risk (i.e inflation peg) by near the same margin, GSK will still be undervalued @ N15.
Elsewhere, certain KEY No trend in the coys CFS and BS is again telling me that something positive(the pursuit for ROI in view) might happen in the not so distant future… including but not limited to the possibility of a buyout @ a very juicy premium.

But we are done talking GSK. Time will help take good care of the rest!

My dear,
Don’t allow ur forecast(perceived as they clearly are) make u miss out on the select few opportunities that the market would present.
Ur talk on rising yields in the FI space causing a diversion of funds away from the stock market is for now half-baked(a bit too early) and holds little or no water given the current economic play on ground. wink cheesy grin

I hope u understand that the stop rates u quoted are only but ur nominal return investing in that space. …ur RR(real return) remains largely negative or stretched even if u double those figures.
...a brief;

Ur Nos are broadly forward-looking estimates but lets just be generous and assume that the coupon on a 1yr tenure NTB is 5%.(actual 1yr DR is @ circa </=4%)
Lets even double that rate... which would be a 10% nominal return. Unfortunately, that would still compute to an approx negative 2.7% in real return(net of inflation)
At the OMO space, ur RR will also print negative over a 1yr time-frame.

And I hope u also know that over the same period, certain select healthy coys can deliver near 2x their previous yield peg.
Lets dig in a bit more…
A coy like ZENITH bank will likely return a N5.7 cash flow accrual within a roughly 1yr period(N2.7 in march 2021, 30k in July 2021 and another N2.7 in march 2022). At a price peg of N25, that’s a near 23% div yield(circa 22.8%) in nominal return and a net positive near 12.5% real return.
Even if we decide to be cautiously optimistic and assume the bank may pay less dividend within the said time-frame(though there is no just reason to think so at this time), yield would still print at approx 10.3% of real return. Then there is also the matter of a possible cap appreciation to top up ur total CGY.
…the interpretation of this is that it could likely take u as much as 2.5yrs to derive an equivalent value playing a 1yr NTB as u would playing the asset ZENITH, ceteris peribus. Needless to say that aligning with the latter ahead of the former should be a worthy opportunity cost.
Similar arguments can be made for other healthy high yield-giving coys like GTB, UBA, AFPRUD, UCAP, DSR, DC etc.

Now unless u are one of them fellows who believe that the negative 2.7% RR(from playing in that FI space) is greater than that of a positive 12.5% or min. 10.3% playing the ZENITH asset, u would quite naturally incline with the latter investment channel. wink cheesy grin

There is need to understand what the market is “playing or acting out” at any given time. While u can not predict with certainty its motive, u can take advantage of its “plays” and the opportunities that come with it.
The market is about to gift u with one more. Know when and how to act. cool shocked wink
No need to fret… trend remains largely bullish!!(see my past post on this line)

Selah

ZENITH together with some select banking coys (FIDELITY, GTB, ACCESS, WEMA etc) could well prove to be stubborn and resist any big drop in price... so it might pay to always seek to adjust ur investing/trade setup in line with the economic reality at the time while seeking for reward.

There's a reason certain select stocks aren't falling as some folks would've expected. (the past post above should serve to give a clue)

Good Morning,
Please I will be appreciate if someone can give me an insight on what is driving royalex stock price up.
I bought at .25 hoping to sell at .30, but with the level of bid I am seeing in the stock, I decided not to sell yet. I will appreciate if someone can give me an insight on what is driving the price up, is unusual to me.
Thanks

Do not be left out. The KEY is to ensure u permute from among the right coys.

@mcy56, do bring me my Access remote and replace the battery of some names in the INS sector. wink cheesy grin
Nice job u've been doing to keep the platform lively. Not forgetting other great contributors too.
Thanks all!

Will drop the name of a coy that will most likely deliver btw 89-115% ROI in the short to mid term (3-9 months time-frame) much later.
At its CMP, the prob for inherent risk is equivalent to zero while that of feasible REWARD is already near 1.

Bye for now!

It’s said that 10% returns by a fund manager in the USA annually is a good profit.
By that standard anything upper and an investor should be happy.

I believe patience is key. You can jump in for dividend and make 12% each for two years or miss one year, enter at a good entry point and with dividends and stock price appreciation get about 25-30% which beats the first approach

Patience is key in the market. Yes we just jump but look before you leap
Don’t let get rich quick or success of others push you. Have a plan and stick to it. undecided

Please shine ur light on international breweries

They just used the recently concluded rights issue to shave a hugh chunk off their debt

I was impressed by the fact that the majority holders still coughed out enough cash to offset debt and might have no plans of receiving dividend soonest

I have plans for it @ #2

You have the right to take an advice or not to, why are you stressing yourself , people burn their candle to analyze a company report why you sleep at home or play around think you are smart , when you want to make decision you come here and pick their advice to invest , when investment don’t go the right way you complain.
