Nairaland of old, we'd have had correct answers by now. Let me attempt. I might be wrong on some.

1. Babies are born everyday, not children. The term child covers the period from birth (not before birth) to adulthood, as defined in different jurisdictions.

2. Start from the lowest floor, and keep going higher till the egg breaks. Whichever floor it breaks, the floor beneath it is the answer.

3. Divide the coins into 2, that's 50 in each pile. Every coin has heads. The question asked for equal number of heads not equal number of heads UP.

4. Open the box incorrectly labelled "Apples and oranges", whatever fruit comes out makes it the box containing that fruit alone, you have one correct label now. The box incorrectly labelled that first fruit becomes correctly labelled as the second fruit alone and the third box which was incorrectly labelled as the second fruit alone is to be correctly labelled "Apples and oranges".

Athemisia:

WRONG
You can't have a negative answer for 1.

2. An egg can break from 10m and 20m, once it's broken it's broken. Hence, why I noted you can't have it again (options are for insist)

3. All coins have head

4. All are labeled incorrectly, simply get one and get all that's all.
Re: Can You Answer These Tricky Job Interview Questions From Apple Inc? by GigiMax: 2:46pm On Apr 14, 2021
1. 385,000 babies are born each day

2. This is a time series Analysis. That is, the number of times the egg could break on each floor is dependent on the number of floors and eggs available for practice. It actually tests the human capacity to make decisions based on best and worst case scenario.

Drop Floor
#1 14
#2 27
#3 39
#4 50
#5 60
#6 69
#7 77
#8 84
#9 90
#10 95
#11 99
#12 100

3. Pick any 10 coins and make a small pile. You now have 90 coins in a pile (call it pile A), and 10 coins in a new pile (call it pile B). You don't know where the heads are, but you do know that there are 10 of them in total, and therefore however many heads there are in pile A, there is 10 minus this many in pile B.

Let's do an inventory:
Pile A contains:
- n heads
- 90-n tails

Pile B contains:
- 10-n heads
- the rest tails. How many tails exactly? Well out of 10 coins, 10-n are heads, which means the number of tails is 10-(10-n) = n tails.

Wait...what? pile A has n heads, and pile B has n tails? So we know that there are always the same number of heads in pile A as there are tails in pile B, even if we don't know exactly what number that is? So flip over all the coins in pile B. We now have the same number of heads in both piles.

The solution for the worst case in this scenario occurs when the threshold floor is floor number 14 – because we will drop the first egg on floor 14, and it will break. Then we have to test floors 1-13 with the 2nd egg to see where the egg breaks again, and the egg will not break on any of those floors. But since the egg broke on the floor 14, we can conclude that the threshold floor is floor number 14.

I am sleepy already

I saw this Interview Questions on Glassdoor and I just felt it might be very useful to some of us given that most companies especially in Nigeria like copying these big tech guys. We all know that Apple is one of the biggest Tech companies in the World and to get a job there wouldn’t be so easy.

Glassdoor decided to make this easy by providing some questions Apple Inc uses to select their employees – I would be revealing 3 questions here that I feel are more brain tasking and require more brain knowledge. Is your brain equipped to answer these Apple’s Job Interview Questions? If Yes? Let’s do this smiley

1. How many children are born every day?

2. If you have 2 eggs, and you want to figure out what’s the highest floor from which you can drop the egg without breaking it, how would you do it? What’s the optimal solution?

3.You have 100 coins laying flat on a table, each with a head side and a tail side. 10 of them are heads up, 90 are tails up. You can’t feel, see or in any other way find out which side is up. Split the coins into two piles such that there are the same number of heads in each pile.”

4. There are three boxes, one contains only apples, one contains only oranges, and one contains both apples and oranges. The boxes have been incorrectly labeled such that no label identifies the actual contents of the box it labels. Opening just one box, and without looking in the box, you take out one piece of fruit. By looking at the fruit, how can you immediately label all of the boxes correctly?

So who can answer any?

A woman gave birth and the babies are twin.

If asked how many children do she have, what is she going to input?

Question 2: to optimize result, start from the middle floor, if the egg breaks, try one-quarter, but if it didn't break, try three-quarter.
This is solving by halfing.

Since the three boxes are labeled wrongly, pick the one that is labeled apples and oranges and open, any fruit you bring out is the only fruit in that particular box, assuming your see apple, remove the label from the other box bearing apple and place on the one you opened, exchange the remaining two labels

Google no 2, you'll see it's iteration. In iteration it could be broken, once it's broken that's it you can't recover it.

3. Google 3. Not determined, but the question didn't ask us to put equal number of heads facing up. Hence all coins have a head. 50:50.

4. As long as the three are not labeled correctly, the one with the mixture is the key. Simple.

These questions may not have a single answer. I think it depends on the intelligence applied.

The first question, I will say 2

The 2nd question: you start dropping the eggs from the safest and lowest level.

The 3rd question: is the probability of having the same numbers of tails and heads equal on both sides. So what's the probability? Mathematicians over to u!

Probability of any outcome always less than 1. Which is why it's either 1/2, or 1/no of coin faces

This one is easy I guess. The key to labelling the boxes correctly is the fact that they have all been labelled incorrectly. One you open a box and you pick one of apple or orange(determined by its feel and not looking in), you know that fruit is that box and the any other box not labelled with that fruit from the two other boxes.
For example if a handpicked fruit is orange, I know orange is in that box and one of the two remaining boxes, but since they all labelled incorrectly, whichever box doesn't carry orange label is the real orange box. Once that's out of the way, I simple swap the labels on the remaining two boxes to complete their labelling.

Let me attempt no4: since none of the boxes is labelled correctly, if I pick an orange and the tag on the box reads "APPLES", I will change the label to "ORANGES". Now I'm left with two boxes; one bearing " ORANGES" and the other bearing "APPLES AND ORANGES". I will simply exchange the labels. This might not be 100% but at least each box contains a fruit on its label.

There'll be equal number of heads and tails in each regardless of how you select them as long as you have divided the 100 coins into 50 in each pile

If you pick out an Apple in one box, label the other two with oranges. You'd be half correct on one box
But if you have time, pick the the fruit out, weigh it and multiple by the number that should be in each box to get a proximate match to be sure of the selected fruit and compare with the weight of the other boxes noting that one box will have a differing number (the mixed box).

Atleast, I've attempted answering while y'all are speaking grammer cool
