I did volunteering with a domestic abuse charity and the perks were nice. If I needed quick cash, health care assistant was the surest job or security

Student jobs - mini/part or full time(usually for a limited time 2/3 months).

Side works - relocation (most oft), garden work, painting.

*I was also eligible for student loans hence not much pressure.

Receptionist work put me through school and Uni, as well as air-conditioner installation in the summer time. Also had my own biz teaching GCSE and ALevel Maths that contributed.

Am new in Brandon canada and I have been choosy about available part time job and depending on my saving and income from Nigeria but the exchange rate is hitting me bad and am thinking of getting a job

As a student, you have about 20 hours a week to work. Anything more than that authorities will come after you.

The best jobs you can as a student in Canada is logistics whether it is Warehouse or Delivery, logistics is the best option.

If you can knack very well, create a profile here and pay premium charges, you can knack older ladies and get paid about 150 CAD.

Thank me later

Online Remote jobs anywhere anytime is better
You can get to earn as much as $30000(thirty thousand ) monthly or yearly depends on time spent and jobs completed because of your location doing transcribing or voice over. It's a lil harder from Africa especially Nigeria because of Online scams associated to such regions though some of us still find our way around the challenges!

@Seniorwriter

How do you get around it? Could you please share a link or two?

Thanks in advance.

If you're going to Europe or Australia, make sure that apart from having the skills (fork lift operator), you get some form of certificate or documentation for it. For some weird reason, they always require it.

Truth be told. I usually think that I would be able to work whenever I leave Nigeria for studies abroad. But I am here now and sometimes I wonder how I would be able to have supported myself if I was not sponsored by the school. To even find time for oneself after project reports, assignments and reading for exams is too hectic.
Thank God for scholarships.

NB: if you have to work abroad you may have to sacrifice your academic results for the cash. If you're for your academic pursuits, you better leave the job thingy.

Oh yes, thank God for scholarships.

Between, students still cope by learning to make sacrifices. What have we not done? Midnight jobs, full-time jobs, semi-skilled and unskilled labor, name them. And we still attend classes and study group sessions. Actually, how much one takes academic pursuit seriously determines how much stressful this journey is.

To the topic,
Depending on your city, you could find out what is more common. Also, your mindset matters. In as much you need money, never settle for bs. Here in Germany, we have internship (Praktikum) and working student (Werkstudent) offers. We also have lots of manufacturing and logistics companies that offer temporary help (Aushilfe) jobs. They all pay very well. I believe the same should apply over there in Canada.
