AdakaBoro8:Why won't Oru mean god in Ijaw when you worshipped the ancient Oru who you met in the territory you settled. Oru are humans that you Ijaws gave godlike attributes. 1. Oru/Olu has different meanings in Igbo language. 2. The incantations, mask, masquerades of the Oru are all Igbotic. 3. Owu which you Ijaws termed Owu-Ogbo is Igbo. The Oru’s of Oguta founded this festival that you Ijaws borrowed. 4. Oru might mean ancient in your language which is a pointer that you met people in the place you now call Ijawland. 5. The ancient Oru had to settle permanently in the area now called Ndokwa/Oguta/Ndoni/Oru/Olumbanasa because the likes of the Benin, Igala and you Ijaws were always migrating into their communities. |

Igboid:This is foolish. I honestly cannot believe what I just read. You’ve been on NL long enough and interacted with me long enough to know better, but you’re just here carrying along with the stupidity spewing from Eastlink’s mouth about me. I’m going back to the Culture section. I don’t even know why I tried to show you a modicum of modesty and goodwill by responding to your request for my thoughts on the original post. I won’t be responding to anything else on this thread. |

Eastlink:I won't waste your time with you! Just as Chief Asari-Dokubo said you Igbo are and will the slaves of Ijaw. He also told you about Ijaw priesthood and lands scattered across were you now call Igbo states. Igbo never had an organised society not talk of an organised religion. You are trying to provoke someone to educate you on the difference between owu and oru. As an Ijaw from Rivers I know you Igbos too well. That why I never responded on the ethnic groups that are Oru. You are lucky Adaka Boro answered you. This one sentence you heard from him, you've tried to put a spin on it. It is this propaganda that will send you packing. Oru that most Igbos can't even pronounce is what you want claim now! |

PHijo:Why then did you not have any history until the coming of the Portuguese? Can you name any Ijaw ancient artefacts? Is your language related to any language in the south? It's on record that the Ijaws are the only group in the south living in the Mangrove. Ijaw were also the only southern group that relied on fishing for survival because you were never known for farming. Ijaw are also the only group that copied the European dressing. Everything about you is foreign. The Portuguese might have interacted late with the Igbo hinterlands but they had trade dealings with the Igbos that lived near the Atlantic. The same way they had dealings and recorded the history of the Efiks was the same way they recorded the history of the likes of Bonny etc. |

PHijo:The early Dutch and British explorers called you Ijaws dwarfish. In the history of Bonny, they recorded that slaves from Brass were brought in to help the Okoloma (Ndoki) man their canoe. Even Asari Igbo ancestor ruled over their Ijaw slaves. If all the Kings from Amakiri of Kalabari to the King in Okrika, Nembe and up to Bonny had Igbo heritage, it means that they ruled over their Ijaw slaves. |

PHijo:Just to burst a few of your bubbles The oldest surviving royal institution in Nigeria is in Igboland. The Nri kingdom. The Igbo royalty in UBANI (Bonny) existed way before the British came up with their warrant chief rubbish. These empirical observations of Bonny commenced in the 1790s, many decades before Britains came up with that crap. So make no attempts to stylishly claim that it was the British that instituted the Igbo royalty of Bonny during their warrant chief phase. These factual observations were made long before that. Eze Nri authorised the crowning of Obas of Benin and Attahs of Igala, and the core of the cultural practices of Igbos, Binis and Igala came from Nri, which is a bonafide Igbo group, so Igbos are culturally solid and can't be made to feel inferior in an environment where they feel superior. Ighotago ![]() Lest I forget, Ndoki owns Bonny |

Afriifa:You were asking someone how sound he is, as if you're intellectually sound yourself. I was almost thinking you were some intellectual Wizkid until you wrote this nonsense above. What do you mean by Abia belonging to Oil Niger Delta and not geographical Niger Delta? Are you sure you have ever studied a map of Nigeria before? Now let me enlighten you, Abia and Imo States are geographically Niger Delta than states like Cross River and Edo! Niger Delta in the geographical and real sense include basically the areas around the watershed tributeries of river Niger before empying into the Atlantic ocean. So, in essence, the areas that make up Niger Delta is Rivers, Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom and southern Delta State. |

| Re: Bonny Island/ Ndoki by Igboid: 4:33pm On Apr 17, 2021 |
Eastlink:This is the Truth. The Jos people were sea porters to the Portuguese who accompanied to them to Niger Delta where they met proto Ibibiod groups Iike Ogbia, Obolo, Abuloma,Abua , Odual and proto Edoid groups like Epie-Attisa, Engennni, proto Igboid ones in Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ndoni all occupying the riverine areas. They assimilated many of these groups. |

Eastlink:the ijaws had no history, neither could they boast of any explicit artefacts like Igbo ukwu e.t.c in Igbo land they were anatomy of apes whose cognitive brain cells could be likened with that of a baby camel...the Igbos gave them their identity today e.g Jaja and oko jumbo. cc AdakaBoro8:

[s] Afriifa:[/s] I don't why ijaw people with no human capital want to teach Ada Anioma like me history of Delta state. Tinubu is from osun state but govern Lagos state, does that make Tinubu a lagosan? Governor Okowa appoint some other Of his P.As from other tribes aside Delta too. Ijaw start and end in 8 local government of bayelsa state. |

Nwanyiogwashi:Just like I expected! Hatred as consumed your sanity. If you're so inclined to your views to the extent that truth and justice becomes second considerations to you, then you're a big fool. and ur level of education or civilazation doesn't matter. Deep down you know you're a fool if that's the best counter-argument you've got to offer. Biko Scram! It was even a mistake to engage a tribal fool like you. like how can one be so fanatical to the extent of denying obvious facts! God! Go and tell your parents what you have just said here. or better still, give me your facebook I.D, let me screenshot this your comment and submit it on your timeline.. Biggest Disgrace of all Deltans. I can never believe you're from my Delta. stop disgracing my Anioma people.. spits! biko don't engage me again. your type disgusts me. |

waterbrown24:You think we are to dumb like your race to allow some western historians define our traits? nigga! u r daft I swear. So because some colonist from Europe acknowledges me to be rude u think I should be timid about my stance? nigga I am proud for them to even account my race as such. Its a clear indication that we werw not timid or cowards like your race. Jaja is a good example, King Koko of nembe is another good example.. |

OfoIgbo:Romanric historians. I laugh at you sha. Bonny Traditional Royal Tittle is Amayanabo, like their other Ijaw brothers in Opobo, Okrika and Bayelsa.. How about you enlighten me on that too. You are here citing books of 17th century, while the actual history of the Kingdom predates 17th century. The good news is that, Bonny's Kingship is hereditary. So you see, romantic historians like yourselfs has nothing to twist. |
