Hi guys , please am in kind need of take on my current situation.

I applied for a canadian work visa through an agent with a down payment of 1miliom after which I did my biometrics capturing at VFS lagos .on

The problem now is that two months is almost gone and no feedback from the embassy and am seriously starting to feel the heat , I don't know if I should get my money back and start up a wine bar or wait for an update from the agent.

Anybody with an experience with situations like this with an agent should pls help me, am begining to lose my mind with my current state of joblessness and doubts of the legitimacy of the agent securing my visa.

Truth is most agents cannot do Canada visa for you. It doesn’t work that way. You have been scammed.

what about the biometrics I did in lagos is it fake too?? I gave out all necessary document before getting an appointment for the capturing

U are a nairalander but u ddnt visit travel section before you carry money give agent..welldone.

Just pretend like u trust him... tell him anything he needs, he should tell u because u want to jaapaa this year...his greed will make him ask for more..tell him u have another cousin that is interested...but will like to see him one on one.. if he make mistake show up...u know what to do....

The other thing you can do is report to his bank that he defrauded you. Some banks are helping now by contacting other banks to help if the money is still present in the scammer account...

NOTE I was sent an appointment letter for the biometrics with my application number appearing on their manifest before I was allowed in ....

also took record of all our discussions and agreement we had

vfs does not process visa its only am agent of Canadian embassy . These agents apply for work permit using fake job offer or no job offer, you do biometrics ( it settles your mind) and later when the file is open for processing you will get rejected and lose your 1m you paid the agents. Ask yourself have you seen some who did Dubai visa by agent== yes many.
Have you seen any one who went to canada on work permit from nigeria === No

Agents don use u cash out. If u have a bank payment proof of that 1 million naira, start asking for a refund immediately. If otherwise, count ur loss and move on

Yes I do have the proof and a record of all our transactions
It won’t be that easy cos I made known the consequences of any shady act on the agreement we had

U wouldn't have gone ahead with such arrangement with him, had it been u solicited for advice here before making that payment, just like u are doing now

If you like make the agents be one of your parents he don scam you forget..there is nothing like work visa for Nigerian...sowp, PR, visit, study are the only type of common visa.

nah wah! he guy don hammer, 1 million for this buhari time will go a long way to quench the man's suffering.

my brother, ensure you start the proccess of recovering your money ASAP .. if you use for tourism in Dubai or for ashewo , you go enjoy yourself instead of throwing it into bush without enjoying yourself...

if the guy refuse to refund back your money, involve the nearsest police station or SFU or Alagbon ASAP.... people are just wicked...

If you have this sleep just calm down , the worse that will happen , they will deny you visa and u can re apply but you shouldn't have made that 1million naira down payment tbh , VFS just helps with biometric , canadian embassy is in kenya .. It might take up to 3months ,before u get a reply from them but be strong minded ,u will get a reply

your words re really encouraging , yes I goofed by paying such amount as down payment
to even think I also connected a friend of mine to that same agent is killing me

The visa application has been proceeded, he should just count his loss .....

Yes you can. But why throwing money at agent with the probability of getting scamed + a ban while all visas process are designed as DIY (Do It Yourself).

You don't know if the agent had use fake documents that will contradict information on your future application. This may be ground for a ban

Honestly, I can boldly say that agents are a group of people who get free money from people who are too lazy to do their research. I could understand if you were a politician or some 'so-called big man'; hiring a visa agent would be equal to hiring a maid, driver etc, to do what you could do yourself.

In 2021, the internet should be an invaluable resource, especially for the younger generation. Visa agents are no longer necessary, don't be gullible.
