Your lack of sense is what pained me, trust me. I wonder the kinda cells you have in your brain. Mind you, I'm a Lagos breed, but I just can't imagine how a sane human would compare a bus terminal to a cargo airport simply because of hate or whatever reason.
It's pure ment, and You're a disgrace to educated people.

But, can this cargo Airpod sorry Airport fly goods from abroad down to Anambra without landing in Lagos for check up? If not, local man not still impress oo

The Anambra Airport will give so much advantages to Nigeria and Anambra state.

1. The airport will serve as a fueling hub for International Airlines thereby reducing air ticket costs. Most International Airlines would rather go to Equatorial Guinea and Togo for refueling than MMA due to unreliable Jet A1 fuel supply. The Anambra airport is near the Orient Refinery which will produce Jet A1 fuel and Supply to the airport ensuring constant supply.

They won't stop making spurious noise about these audio billionaires. So-called "billionaires" nobody knows, lol. That was how some pea-brained buffoons claimed on Twitter that there are "Onitsha billionaires" richer than both Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, lmao. What a people! So detached from reality.

The airport is located in Guangzhou's Baiyun District and Huadu District and opened on August 5, 2004 as a replacement for the 72-year-old, identically named former airport, which is now closed.

Built at a cost of 19.8 billion yuan.

Exchange rate of the Chinese Yuan to USD was 6.4 yuan to the dollar bringing the project to 3billion USD in 2004.

Exchange rate of the naira was 136naira to the USD, so that's, 4.2 Trillion Naira in 2004

Nigeria's Budget for that period was 1.5 trillion Naira.

This means the airport cost ~ 3 times the budget of the entire Nation of Nigeria to be built in 2004 and currently at a rate of 3.52 if you are extrapolating 480/136.

So, it would cost (all economic variables being ignored) 3*13trillion(~ 40 trillion Naira or 40,000,000,000,000/480=83bn USD) to be built today. That's all of Nigeria's foreign debt plus change for politicians to steal.

Taking into consideration the differences between a Cargo Airport and a Passenger Airport servicing a commercial city of 9.02 million(2004 population estimate) that has been in operation since 1934.

Class dismissed

Small misinformation like that easy to throw around and hard to disprove as quickly as e dey happen. It's called a Gish Gallop. By the time you reply the goat with facts they'd already spread their misinformation and the damage has been done. Case in point the 100$ per barrel for oil a lot of the trolls and clowns on here always jump on, which is further from the truth.

I don't know why an ethnic group that claims to have much exposure could produce so much illiterates. Not 'educated illiterates', raw ones. They are just too dumb and emptily egotistical for my liking. Anything that massages their ego deserves propagation as far as they are concerned. Thank God I am Yoruba.

With this airport, I see anambra's IGR double within 2 years from now, south east economy is about to turn around for good, given the heavy purchasing prowess of our billionaires and people as a whole

My problem is since asaba airport and Enugu airport are closer to all this communities listed, why then wasn't it strategically located somewhere closer to purchasing power?

I think we've hyped this airport enough, let obiano complete this project and then we can laud it as we like.

That's because they collectively suffer from personality delusion disorder. Sadly, it's not only their "illiterates" that make empty, baseless braggadocio. If you've read Nnamdi Azikiwe's 1949 address to his Igbo people, you'd realize that it's just the innate character of the Igbo to make batshit-crazy delusional claims. They just can't help it, it's in their blood.

I think the major worry is that thousands of Anambrarians that troup into Lagos daily just to board flights to China, UAE , Europe and America will reduce. For every 1000 passengers on international flights in Lagos airport, 600 are Anambra indigenous and about 280 of them are coming from Onitsha Main market.

Do you know how many of those guys frequent NACO on a daily basis asking for their cargo goods?

1.Anambra is building a jet refuel depot for airplanes.

2. Anambra is building an airplane maintenance platform . Airplanes undergo routine engine checks and overall engine checks for years and tears , 100% nut by nut, bolt by bolt. This costs about 1.5M usd. Anambra will cost international airplanes about half of that to do that thereby reducing costs of flights for planes plying our routes to Europe and America. In fact airplanes allover the world will prefer coming here for maintained instead of usual Germany and America. In case you dont know, it's the same companies doing them in Europe that Anambra are bringing down to payb commision to her.

3. Airplane repairs and engineering school springing up soon.

4. Orient refinery in Anambra to supply the aviation fuel. Anambra in the next 10 yrs will be doing it all by themselves.

5. Anambra airline in the planning stage.

So my brothers, tell me why LAGOS will not be threatened by all these??

Igbos are demi gods. Nigeria is loosing for not using them. Foolishly excluding them to her own peril.

Ona get mouth, am sure na ona billionaires fund am. No matter the structure what matters, it has added to the number of airports in Nigeria
And obviously it is contributing to the regions, soon we may have more flight from East to Lagos and East to Abuja than Lagos to Abuja. You never know...money follow business.

The $2 billion people are quoting was the figure Chinese firm wanted to invest to build Airport city in Anambra to be concession to them, just like how the Chinese are funding Lekki deep sea port, the agreement didn't work out between them and Anambra state government , the Chinese firm later pulled out, Anambra state government took over soley funding the project without borrowing a dim.
