This is exactly how they almost killed my mum in 2016. Such a commercial enterprise with no care for human lives. They and Paelon are only mindful of money, money, money. Recent experience with Evercare shows they are different, more empathetic and willing to do extra without putting money first. What really has become of our people? No care even in the so called highbrow hospitals. They will be negligent yet asking for more money. The chicken has come home to roost. This can’t go on much longer. 5 Likes |

SMH @Medical practice in Nigeria: doing business with people's lives! Probably the gynecologists didn't show up on that Saturday because they went to hustle elsewhere. @ the resident medical officers: even a 4th year medical student would know that there's internal bleeding: falling blood pressure after surgery despite all the transfusions, plus low urine output! Most likely, there's abdominal swelling too. 9 Likes |

nairalee: Not just doctors sir... This issue abounds in nearly all sectors of this 4th world nation. Poor education, indiscipline, lack of proper mentoring/training on the job, and overall poor leadership!!! Let's not even talk about the fact that corruption has eaten into every core and fabric of our way of life to the point that universities now churn out incompetent graduates who paid their way through school without actually getting proper education. The few good ones who go abroad and excel, do so because those guys have high standards. There are proper checks and balances in place to foster discipline and accountability. Systems of checks and balance don't exist in this nation from healthcare to civil engineering, even to law enforcement! That is why this is an UNDERDEVELOPED nation!!! 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Four million swallowed by incompetent hospital and she still died Like the advise my family physician told my parents before retiring... Do whatever you can to stay away from Nigerian Hospitals even if it's change of diet, exercise or healthy living, Nigerian hospitals are now death traps in the hands of newbie doctors 10 Likes 1 Share |

Well once BP is going south after a major operation with low urine output and probably abdomenal swelling in this case... or excessive drainage from op site.... It's a pointer to internal bleeding This will ultimately lead to DIC...a point of no return 3 Likes |

ecomalchemist: Poor leadership abounds in every aspect of this nation... This is beyond hospitals and healthcare! The system of this nation is rotten at the very core! The average Nigerian has lost his humanity!!! Good leadership can restore a semblance of order and discipline to these failing sectors! Scapegoats need to be made that others may actually learn, and remember their humanity. 2 Likes 1 Share |

This is very sad.Things could have gone wrong during the procedure r example, blood vessels may need to be secured, or stitches may have come apart. Injury to other organs may also have occurred during surgery. |

2 weeks ago, I was feeling a little discomfort in my stomach area. I went to my hospital, they ran some tests including pregnancy test (me wey don dey celibate for sometimes now)... next they did a scan, I made sure I watched the screen and I can swear that nothing was found. Next thing the result came out that I had acute appendicitis. Me? they were already booking me for surgery, ontop small stomach pain wey don go during all their drama. I simply declined, the 2 young doctors were obviously eager to do the surgery, they were telling me not to worry that my HMO will pay for it. They obviously want to use me for experiment. I just told them I would be back and I went back home before they will forget scissors in my tummy because of surgery that wasn't even necessary. I haven't felt any pain since then. Nigeria is a failed country 22 Likes 3 Shares |

At the end the nma will shield the hospital from any punishment. It's not how posh a hospital looks or how much money you pay. it's all depends on the personnel on ground. How serious they take their job. When the doctor from UK suggested there might be an internal bleeding. Why didn't they perform a bed side ultrasound scan or CT scan immediately. The family can afford it. Look at it. 2 Likes |

joyandfaith:I have 10 years working experience in Nigeria Healthcare system before leaving for Europe. Countless times I have heard please don't let me die but we cannot do anything. Today people born in the 1920s are going home from my unit Healthy and Nigeria Hospitals cannot manage people under 50 years. The Healthcare system in Nigeria is in crisis.
