R. I. P to the deceased and I pray comfort attends to the family and loved ones..

Going through the timelines, I wonder about the possibility of a severe blood transfusion reaction - which is a silent killer due to poor lab practices - given the jaundice, which only made the evolving acute DIC fatal. The other thing to consider may be the generous vasopressor use intra-operatively given the low BP. This might contribute to the AKI alongside anaesthetic gases impact on her liver.

Myomectomies are generally very bloody operations - not unusual to have a blood loss of 1-3litres depending on number and position of fibroids - so having a possible bleeding disorder such as vWF - currently underdiagnosed as not checked in routine blood tests- complicates the picture, and raises the likelihood of developing DIC.

DIC can be quite difficult to treat once the boat has left the shores.. Given the lack of FFP/ factor 7 or Cryo in Naija.

Overall, if the above were to be present, a return to theatre may not have helped.. It might only have sped up her demise - - something the surgeons might have been thinking - hence their reluctance, despite contrary overseas opinion.

Gross negligence is in the culture of the blacks - after their negligence, they blame it all on Mr President....

Hmm...
No wonder the country is in shambles cry cry cry cry
See a human interest thread like this struggling to reach four pages, whereas the thread "Etinosa Idemudia’s Second Marriage Crashes Less Than A Year " is already on page 5 and counting.

Our values are seriously wack. Nigerians only complain when they are the victims. Until we all start to call out each other irrespective of our affiliations with them and also unite in doing so, we will all have to continue to manage the country we have.

For those constantly thinking the answer is in relocating abroad, remember Black lives matter undecided undecided

Sometimes, being stubborn is really helpful... Barely two months ago, my sister was rushed to the hospital from her place of work and the condition was so critical that required an operation, while in the theatre battling for her precious life, I was praying and sweating profusely that she would come back....

While this was going on, I moved to the female ward of the hospital to get her mantle which she kept on her bag and I saw one of the female patient who's having difficulty to speak and breathe well trying to get the attention of a nurse putting on a white earphone blasting to music from her mobile device.

The female patient was pointing to the pulse clip which the nurse mistakenly removed while arranging her oxygen cylinder.

I had to forcefully remove the useless earphone from her ears and shouted at her to concentrate.... She wanted to misbehave by trying to shout back at me, I had to show her that there are levels to madness by destroying the earphone. I did wrong there, but I hate negligence.... She reported me to the naval personnel there and after everything, they ask me to take it easy and be calm.

What brighten my mood that day was that my sister came out of that health challenge and the doctors gave her full attention anytime she complained.

I don't tolerate negligence at work place.

but its the culture in nigeria; to that nurse "the hospital is not my fathers business so why should i care"; and why should i care about a dying woman "na my sister"?

How can the negligent culture in Nigerian workplaces be changed?

Well said doc.

But why didn't the hospital and the attending physicians carry the family along?
Respect!!!...until we start to respect each other's feeling.

Foolish idiotic thinking. Oyinbo land is tired of immigrants and are putting up barriers to stop you. The best bet is to develop our minds and improve our country! Life is not meant for ‘show off or I big pass you’ it is meant for cooperation and building together.
Don't mind some Nigerians! They want to live at the mercy of whites yet they'll cry when the whites want to impose their values like homosexuality on them.

The solution is to fight and get the government do the right thing by fixing our healthcare sector!
Healthcare is very important because only a healthy person can work and earn a living.

This is exactly how they almost killed my mum in 2016. Such a commercial enterprise with no care for human lives. They and Paelon are only mindful of money, money, money. Recent experience with Evercare shows they are different, more empathetic and willing to do extra without putting money first. What really has become of our people? No care even in the so called highbrow hospitals. They will be negligent yet asking for more money. The chicken has come home to roost. This can’t go on much longer.

Evercare is foreign hospital and being managed by foreigners.

All Nigerian doctors are quack. You bribe the people in charge they issue you with as many certificate, degree or qualifications as a doctor. If you kill a patience you bribe police, judge and court and they will set you free.

The poor families of the patience says leave it for God to judge. Total rubbish!

Anyone who goes to a Nigerian hospital and makes it out alive should thank goodness.

Same way one quack doctor murdered my nephew in the name of ceacserian section. They cut the poor girl open and left her there without proper attention and she died. The quack doctor still collected money. I told her my step sister to sue the hospital she says leave it for God, God know the best. Total bulshit! God is not going to do a damm thing!

God doesn't even exist.
