Four years ago, I was posted to Enugu state for National Youth Service. Enugu was fun. It's a beautiful state with amazing infrastructure and friendly people. I quickly fell in love with the city again. I said again because I spent my formative years in Enugu. We left when my dad was redeployed to the North.

So back to the story. I met a girl online and we clicked right away. She was jovial, assertive, talkative, and a great conversationalist. I was enthralled by her. We would spend hours on end chatting on Facebook and WhatsApp. I'd call her, she'd call me. It felt as if we had known each other for years.

I couldn't wait to meet her. Her voice was like music to my ears. Her command of English spoke volumes about her intelligence. People say command of English is not proof of intelligence. I beg to differ though. It takes hours, days, and years of intense learning to acquire a high degree of proficiency in English.

Why do I keep digressing? Anyway, she taught me lots of things. For instance, I got to know about the South Korean band, BTS, through her. She knew a bit about everything.

So I invited her on a date. I chose a public place because I wanted her to feel safe. I didn't invite her to my place because it might give her the impression that I had an ulterior motive.

Everything went south on the day we were supposed to meet.

it's not a comedy skit. I had wanted to explain what happened via text, but I felt it would be too long, that's why I made a video.
