edi287: Then , let him replicate that status with Super Eagles...shebi na world class. A highly rate "top 3 DM" should be able to make a major impact in any team he plays for. |

andrewbaba44: edi287: And lads comparing please compare Vardy (2018-19) to Nicholas Pepe at Lille (2018-19). Both were in top 5 leagues according to your standards. Pepe 22/13 Vardy 18/20 Was Pepe world class too? |

Beloved3: 23 18 and 20 is 20 for 3 seasons No matter how hard you try to paint it vardy is world class Wetin confirm me and pepe ? You are making this arguement look childish Pepe is not even a striker ,Pepe and the name world class should not be on same sentence |

Beloved3:I did say it doesn't have to be viewed from goals only. Vardy has been mostly consistent at Leicester. I'd wouldn't say he's world class but he's very close to being one.

Beloved3:Pepe is yet to transfer his Ligue un form to the epl and had just one breakout season(and a reasonable end to the season before that). What exactly is your argument? |

andrewbaba44: Concerning Suarez, I have answered that here. Please see below; @forgiveness, check my metrics/standard for a world class player in my earlier posts if you can. Beloved3: |

edi287: Yep, correct. But was he world class in those two seasons at Lille based on your metrics for measuring Vardy? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Damioduso1: 8:39pm On May 22, 2021 |
Omanambala:currently Wilfred Ndidi is out best defensive midfielder no argument. I still cannot find any replace for him when he gets injured bro . His far better than those home base eagles players that cannot qualify for chan |

edi287: Good. So according to you Vardy is NOT world class. That was what I wanted to point out. Thanks. andrewbaba44: edi287 has now seen the light. Na only you remain, let's fire on till you yourself see the light. My point is this, you said anyone who can sustain 20+ goals in two seasons in any of the top leagues is world class. Good. All I'm asking now is a question; In 2018 - 2019 (2 seasons) here are Vardy and Pepe's stats; Pepe 22/13 Vardy 18/20 If these stats make Vardy world class, would you tag Pepe as world class too? It's just an honest question that needs a straight answer. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Omanambala(m): 8:46pm On May 22, 2021 |
edi287: It all depends in your formation, tactics and abilities of your players. But , if you must play Ndidi then you need a playmaker to assist him , otherwise your midfield will become toothless....like Ndidi-Aribo combination. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by edi287: 8:49pm On May 22, 2021 |
Omanambala:There's nothing wrong with that pivot on paper. Aribo is good at driving to the opposition's box with or without the ball. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Nobody: 8:50pm On May 22, 2021 |
edi287: Good. According to Andrew's standard he is world class I pasted a standard metric here at noon. In that metric Vardy didn't make it but Harry Kane did. Andrew apparently likes Vardy but gradually I am showing him that his dear Vardy really isn't world class based on the same metrics you use for the likes of Kane, Neymar,Mbappe, Messi, C Ronaldo etc. Andrew hence is fuming. 1 Like |

nairalandankrah: Joe Aribo is not creative. Iwobi has proven he can't play that role as we have seen many times. The responsibility of that role is above his abilities. He tires out and loses concentration. |

edi287: In our last 3 or 4 matches Aribo has been below average. So, lets not go there...he is very athletic but only time will tell and I can see the signs. |

Omanambala:There's a difference with not transferring club form to country and what you're saying. Joe Aribo has the attributes. That much is certain. He started well and fizzled out a bit but he has it in him to get back in form. 1 Like |

Damioduso1: Or we can groom the U17 lad if Mikel Agu or Zuby aren't available. Depending on Ndidi , your "world class" player to carry that team is exercise in futility, but , again time will answer these questions. |

This arguments of who is world class is subjective and is prone to prejudice. We are comparing strikers with DM, defenders. If you must say that Ndidi is not world class, then you have to mention 10 DMs that are better than him currently. Otherwise, any player that is top 10 in his position is world class. Paul Onuachu is world class in my opinion. The stats are there to proof it. Any other metrics is bullshit. 1 Like |

edi287: Good , then. However, I am not writing him off, but if I am going to field an English man then he must be better than what we have. I am not easily moved by these English boys who are spoiled with privilege of playing for decent clubs even when I know they aren't better than my home grown talents. |

Omanambala:Do you have something against foreign born players or something?? How can you say Aribo, a guy who worked his way from isthamian league(sort of a semi professional league) to Charlton(after a successful trial btw) to Rangers as being "spoilt" and privileged?? Do you know how hard he's worked to get where is? Do you know how many English born players we have in the English lower leagues?? How you can dismiss the guy's ability just because he's "foreign born"? |
