Hello Everyone,

Please, I need advise on this issue. I am currently in a dilemma.
I got admission in the UK for February, 2021 intake. I made a deposit of 4,000 pounds towards my tuition fee and started studying online while I waited for my visa. I submitted my priority visa application in feb. Unfortunately, 5days later I was denied visa. The reason for the denial was that the bank statement submitted was for 20days instead of 28days. This was an obvious error from the UKVI because the statement I submitted was for 30days, from 9/1/2021 to 9/2/2021. I emailed the school about the denial and I was advised to apply for an administrative review. Which I did on the 24th of feb. Its been 3 months since I applied for the AR and its still not out. I am done with my first semester, recently the university emailed me to pay the balance of my tuition fee (8000) or I will be reported to immigration. ( I am sure the finance dept. think I am in the UK already). My dilemma now is, payment of the balance of my tuition fee shouldn't be a problem. But I want to avoid a situation where if the AR is not approved I will not loose my money, and guarantee that the school will reissue me another CAS to reapply. Since I was not denied based on credibility but from an error from the embassy. Also the main aim of schooling in the UK is to qualify for the PGWP and for those who started study in January, 2021 I am told that we are expected to be in the UK by September. What happens if the AR delay hinders me from being in the UK before September? I also want to avoid a scenario where I will finish my study online from my home country and the embassy might not see the need to issue me visa.
So I emailed the school asking that they delay the payment until the outcome of the AR or I defer the admission and continue from 2nd semester in September ( There is a second semester batch in September for my course).
The school replied my mail telling me that I have 3 options:
1. Defer till next intake hoping that the AR would be out by then. What this means is new fess to be paid.
2. Withdraw- Stop studies and don't pay fees but the risk is that if UKVI contacts us, student no longer studying with us so automatic refusal.
3.Continue studying online and pay fees till decision is out and student can fly into the UK.
From my understanding of the mail, the university wants me to start all over again in the net intake and pay a new fee or continue studying online and take my chance with the AR. option two is not an option for me.
How do I go about this?

I would advise that you go with option 3 from the school. Furthermore, you can also get a good lawyer in the UK to help follow up. It is obvious that the school is actually focused on the money.

Hi. I appreciate the efforts of those answering questions here.

Please will 5million naira be enough to take me to Uk for MSc? That includes from the application process, tuition and when I get to Uk and rent too. And also I come from a poor home as I’m self sponsored. Can I work and study? Money from work will be used to pay tuition and other bills there.

Please reply.

I read people recommend getting UK lawyer here a lot but my question to you people are:

How much will the UK lawyer charge and how much is reapplication?

How long will the whole process take?

What will the outcome look like? Getting a visa with refund of application fees?

What will you do with the visa if you finally pay up and complete the course online from Nigeria?

Sorry but the whole idea of paying millions of naira to UK university while you stay in Nigeria using your own internet, light and everything to study online is just stupid.

My apologies but I can not get my head around this.

What is wrong with us?

How is 5million too small? If he pays deposit of £5k, he still has enough to sought visa, ihs and accommodation.

Good day Fam,

My sister is married with a 7 month old kid and the husband isn't ready to travel with them yet to the UK.

Would there be need for the husband to do medicals ,pay visa fees and IHS?

Thanks for your responses.

Any idea(s)?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 3:34pm On May 27, 2021
Well, it depends:

1. Will the husband later change his mind and join them?
2. Will the husband never visit (stay with them) them?

If 1. applies then let him do but if 2. applies then he shouldn't bother because he can always get a six-month tourist visa to visit them.

Please wait for expert opinion from people on this platform!!!

After putting the school address as accommodation, the next question that popped up was “will you be stayin anywhere else in the uk?”

If I choose yes, it will tell me to enter an address which I don’t have yet.

If I choose no, it will take me to the next stage.

So is it appropriate to choose no? Knowing fully well that it’s when I get to the uk that I will sort my accommodation.

Thank you so much for this comment!! I’ve had this “conditional” offer from Bournemouth for months but the thought of writing IELTS made me give up on the offer.

I uploaded my NECO result based on your comment even though it was clearly stated they want IELTS, I just got this confirmation mail from the school.

On to the next step! smiley
Congrats. Am still waiting for my unconditional Admission

Check out cross rate of pounds to dollar on oanda and multiply to the exact visa fee
E.g if visa fee is 300pounds
300*1.4186(cross rate today)= $425
Same for iHS
That’s how I calculated mine

Please what is the name of this school and which of the Bank's POF statement did you use, I hope the statement of account didn't confused them, Well, I will advise you continue online for now if you have the money, I still believe the embassy will review your decision with a positive outcome before the deadline. You have invested in that school already, moreover, your record with the UKVI is intact.

This is a lesson for us all, Sometimes it's good to plan, if you are going for January 2022 start your plans ahead and know the pro and cons of your schools and your decision, weigh your options, banks statement etc then apply to the embassy at the earliest to avoid stories that touch, see how priority visa was wrong, just within 5 days they had rush and gave a wrong decision. Perhaps it was another POF that was used just to nipped the deadline for priority service. Or the officer had exhausted himself causing a miscalculation, No chance for review. I still prefer this standard visa that gives 3 weeks to conclude rather than 5 days with refusal. It is well.

Yes you can work and study. Perhaps it could work if you can get a school like Hull University where you pay less than 8k pounds for school fees. Or maybe even try to get a scholarship. But without scholarship you will still need to raise some more money to add to the 5m for your visa application, IHS and Flight ticket.

If you have that and you are single , I think you can make it work. You could live in a shared apartment and the money you make from working 20 hours weekly should be okay to pay rent and feed you.
