First thing that came to my mind when I saw picture of the snake was that this snake can't fly. But all of the comments here missed this and instead were talking about whether one can send snake or not.

This is why Nigeria is where it is today. The dumbest assemblage of people in a given geographical area.

No wonder we end up with people like Buhari and the kind of army and police we have in Nigeria.

The puff adder is a highly venomonous snake that is responsible for majority of snake bites and fatalities than any other snake in Africa. The puff adder moves slowly and doesn't run when it detects foosteps it rather inflates itself and uses air to make a hissing sound to serve as a warning hence the name....
The puff adder produces from 150 - 350 mg of venom. So you know 100 mg of venom is enough to kill an adult human being after 25 hours of bite...

Not criticising your write up in any way. However mixing measures of weight (mg) with measures of volume (cl) is making it difficult to compare the volume of venom. Is the venom of the gaboon viper neurotoxic?

You can make any type of antidote by getting any life snake and putting it inside bottle or covered bucket,add enough alcohol and leave for a certain time,drink after any bite from snake ....it gives you extra life before medical attention

I know. Actually that snake is super slow and more of an ambush predator.

My concern is that the OP said he saw the snake and wanted to go back and the snake flew at him.....
That's not the characteristics of that snake there and it lacks the physical ability to do that.

Nobody sent anything, I was bitten by This same snake in 2016. Puff adder. Believed by many, to be gentle and harmless but extremely poisonous. Within minutes my left leg was bigger than an electric pole. My saving grace was that grandpa already told me about first aid treatment in case a snake bite occurs, right there I uprooted a raw cassava from someone's farm, peal it with cutlass and chew everything like that, swallowed it like a goat eating raw yam and ran home.

I almost had my left leg amputated in a whole teaching hospital, God will punish doctors who enjoy cutting people's leg as an easy way out.

Trying to use herbs; I Was told by traditional medicine men that this particular snake's medicine is hard to find as d snake hardly bite. Only very few herbalist still have its cure. It was God Grace that I survived it, I also killed the snake too. Was told to go and bring the snake from the Bush. It will be needed as part of d ingredients for it cure , hmmmm

Snakes don't attack humans unnecessarily. He probably stepped on this viper or walked too close to it. Snakes only attack when they feel threatened. Unless a large Python or Anaconda that would actually see you as a prey.

The guy died because he didn't receive proper medical attention! Be careful while walking in the bush or farm.

You are very correct. In my own case, because I was bitten by puff adder also, I stood right on top of the snake barefooted after coming down from on top a pearl tree I had climbed to plug pearl. My cousin brother had been under d tree, with d snake, picking d pearl am plugging into a bako bag all along yet wasn't bitten.

My Dad just cut the place and put one native medicine like that. Just once. And that was it. Unfortunately nobody knows where the medicine is now as the old man is late. But I must attribute the whole thing to God.

Am following alot of blog like linda ikejis blog etc, and i have been on nairaland for like a month now and i swear this platform is different probably the best in the whole of africa because we share ideas here. A dude here said he treated his snake bite with chacoal and guess what? I bought chacoal today because you may never know because i live in a snake infested enviroment. The day i got the shock of my life was the day i saw a green snake chasing a lizard on the fence not on the ground because initially i thougt snakes only move on the ground because it dosen't have legs, i took a long stick hit it once it wraped the stick and i could not raise the stick anymore so that it dosen't fall on my head, i pressed it down and call my cousin who came and killed it. Very fast and deadly creature, we all need to be careful of snakes.
