I smartly picked Japaul at 55/56kobo towards the closing.someone came in and bid it up to 59kobo and that was the end.
At least over 600k units were picked before the full bid.The remaining cash settles in my trading acct till Monday. The stock is up to something for short term.
Japaul that has defaulted on 2020 AFS and Q1 2021 UFS, no Update on H&H deal or proposed fundraising.

You wan buy mattress to sleep there?
When you sight money, make it and move on.
If we check those things, we will miss opportunities.
Just speaking as a technical trader.
You look like a fundamentalist.

Cc: Those who bought Abc Trans at 27-30kobo then.Another short term on board.

Looking at the recently released financial prints, GSK, VITAFOAM, INTER BREW, ACCESS BANK, FIDELITY, WAPCO, UCAP and OKOMU OIL are great assets to align with. ...and of course, including the select coys I highlighted in the INSURANCE SECTOR in times past.
...make them ur close companion but be wise in doing so.(keep track on them)

UACN, ZENITH, GTB, ETI, DANGOTE CEMENT, DANGOTE SUGAR, FLOUR MILLS, UPDC, NEIMETH, WEMA and CAVERTON retains my hold rating.

Good luck everyone and do have a blissful weekend!
Bye for now.
yMcy56:
DANGSUGAR REFINERY PLC:
Looking @ this coy name, does it mean the refinery is coming under Dangsugar?
Just curious... huh

UAC-PROP:
Don't know why no one is really talking about the implication of Custodian's mandatory take over of this company......
**Just wondering:
If the qualification date for the 90kobo buy-over price was 14th May, 2021, what's going to be the fate of those buying after 14th?
Does it mean all those ones are forfeiting their shares and losing money in the process?
Is Custodian still coming up with revised letter as regards the take-over?
Think these questions and many more needs clear answer.......
There is NO confusion my dear.
Think I've highlighted most of these lines in times past.

Hear this; once there is a MTO(mandatory take over), then the SETTLEMENT DATE and CLOSURE DATE (in this case, July 2nd, 2021) takes higher prominence ahead of the QD(qualification date) for which a cash for asset exchange deal is brokered.
The interpretation of this is that UNLESS an investor in UPDC fails to part with their holding or refuses to offer same(following laid down procedure) at the closure date after the bidder has gotten all requisite regulatory approval... the bidder (custodian) is binded by law to settle all accrued holdings prior to the MTO termination date.

Simply put, even if @mcy56 decides to purchase UPDC on Monday next week or anytime before the closure date, Custodian will still pay her what is due to her in cash should the MTO be effected.
It's not like dividend declaration and script/bonus issue. In this case, somebody wants to takeover ur asset... including all such things as benefits that may accrue to it in future.
See urself as holding a certain commodity in an open tradable market and the Custodian folks as the interested buyer.
They (Custodian) have told u when/what date they'll be coming to buy up ur commodity (May 31st - July 2nd) but of course, they can not tell u when u'd be eligible to put out ur goods before then... and if not for the lack of fairness in this clime, u should aslo be able to negotiate pricing with them. ...at least to some small measure given that they reserve more right than u as majority holders.
In retrospect, ur core duty is to ensure ur ready and in the market if and when they do arrive btw May 31st - July 2nd. smiley wink cheesy

Btw, I think the Custo guyz are trying to play smart here. smiley wink cheesy
I still find the post above valid though.

It is well.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 4:09pm On May 28, 2021
debeey87:
For me if there's an option not to sell, I'll hold my tasere units. The custodian guys seems to be hell-bent on returning the company to profitability.
I endorse this post!
One way to apply common sense. smiley wink cheesy
The one million dollar question though would be if the Custo folks will allow room for that option.(think they are trying to play smart)

Note however that an MTO doesn't allow for any other option. The latter "M" connotes mandatory.

That said, leaving all options open might we'll be the better way to play this. smiley wink cheesy
So unless ur left with no choice...

One thing helping me to survive 2021 as a trader.
Never invest all your cash in a whole year because of uncertainties.cash is always KING.
If you miss opportunity today, do not panic, another will come in one week, two months, 3 months, 6 months etc.
Opportunities spring up at any given time.Without cash available, you will still miss again.
Even if you sell, always remember not to cash out all but profits. If you miscalculate and enter at a wrong time, you can always average down
at support prices. These methods is what is keeping me here today, else ghost mode would have been activated.Stock market is not a child play.It requires advanced knowledge to survive especially if you are a trader.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy:
onegentleguy:
So I took a second look at the current health stand of UAC-PROP… drawing from the company’s financial print in the last 5 quarters.

There are negatives, but then there are more positives than negatives especially in the last 6 months… with certain KEY indicators signalling the likelihood for more in the next 3.

At the height of the positives is the deleveraging and restructuring efforts (including possible divestiture) by the new BOD and management team.
...a few highlight;

>> The coy has begun a restructuring of the BG/facility management division of its business. …which was undoubtedly a key part of the problems that badly impacted its cash flow/CGP given its high reliance on external funding(EFIR in view) and weighed down its balance sheet.
…this is KEY!!
>> The NTS also shows that the company is looking to take advantage of the low rate environment to position it towards having a healthy CF and ensuring a better yield on asset base. ...so it gets to keep a little more of the cash it makes and not literally just working more for the banks.
The planned redemption of its approx N4.36B series 1 bond on the 21st of April 2021 is another plus to the deleveraging/restructuring efforts. The new core investor(custodian) might in fact, be pumping funds into the coy.
>> The back to back huge drop on CBM/CBR(cash runway in view) and EFIR… plus jump(to the +) in the coys ROTE and EM lays credence to these efforts and signals a likely turning point of inflection(+)

Worries…

>> The company made provision(via revenue guarantee) for a $2M loan secured by one of its JV partners, First Festival Mall Ltd. The JV partner(First Festival) had failed to repay the said loan on maturity.
and so UAC-PROP is currently in discussion with the unnamed lender to broker a repayment plan.
For a coy that’s just coming out of the woods, $2M might be a bit too much and could pose a treat to recent efforts at cubing down their debt burden and boosting profitability.
>> The coy needs to be more aggressive at managing its cost line across board.

Bottom line:
Likely VALUE accretion carries much more weight than surrounding risk.
Put differently, REWARD is clearly well ahead of the combination of RISK and current mkt price with my FVE assuming zero growth in Q4 and attaching an above inflation risk premium pegged @ N1.81

…BUY!!

CAVEAT: The need for due diligence should still take higher precedence ahead of this post.
Again my advise would be; follow ur instinct.

Selah
The Custo folks looking to broker an MTO just when things are beginning to look up for UPDC after yrs of struggle. (post above was made at the time the coy was trading @ circa 70k+)
Won't be surprise if the next financial print of UPDC post the MTO and possible delisting turns out to be a fundamentally very healthy one.

Reminds me of NEWREST ASL (formerly airline serv & logistics). smiley wink cheesy

Do have a lovely weekend folks.
May ur days be guided and blessed by Devine as we all see out the month of May!

Fill e-mandate for each of the registrars in charge of your holdings in different companies and submit at your bank. E. g you will fill two mandates if you have Access and zenith but fill one if you have stanbic and first bank.

Has the market already priced in the recent increasing security uncertainties in the country?

June will be an interesting month to observe market reaction (if any).

Also crude price at current levels is a +ve. However with the opec+ set to meet in days to approve some reduction in the prod cuts and iran ready to ramp-up prodcution as soon as sanctions are lifted, One wonders how will all these impact the NGX.

Just thinking out loud
