What is your field of study or your area of interest

You had some calls, interviews and negotiation but was your resume ATS compliant? Was your LinkedIn page optimised? Were you tailoring your resume to match the job descriptions?
How do you rate your interview skills?

Those questions above are skills you can learn to improve your chances of getting a job on LinkedIn.
With all of the above, statistics show that you will have to apply for more than 200 job applications to get interviews. Using LinkedIn alone isn't a good strategy..

You can reach out for more...

Why don't you join our project and forget about looking for any paid job forever.

Even salary earners don't joke with the project, where you have a sustainable income for life.

A word is enough...

What you're saying is totally different from the op is saying... He's not complaining of not being called upon for an interview, rather he wasn't picked after several failed interviews even getting to the last stage of the selection process.

If according to you his skills are poorly rated or spent have any at then why was he still shortlisted for an interview.

The truth is most jobs in Nigeria is "man know man", padi2 padi". Jad he knows somebody or applied to a company where his kins men own in very sure the story would have been different.

Mehn Nigeria is messed up.

Wish him goodluck

Within a year, I've applied for 188 jobs on LinkedIn. Some I was called for test and interviews, some I was never called. None of them gave me a job. There are some I applied via mail, not LinkedIn "easy apply"......so it should be over 200.

The last one was with a Yoruba company in Lagos. I applied via LinkedIn. I passed through 3 interview processes. The 4th was with the MD/CEO( Yoruba aged and titled man). He practically told me I am omo ibo(ibo man) and that I don't have the passport.

I'm officially done searching for jobs!!!
I'm throwing in the towel!

Which job role were you applying for?

If you don't have any skills that can bring you money, you'd be worthless to the job market as well because there are a million people with the same certificate as yours

What sets you aside is the value you add to any business and what skills you have to offer besides your years spent reading and writing exams.

The new world now does not give a dot about certificates anymore. So get out there and start a business after you've gained the right skills. You are igbo but you don't sound like one. No igbo would spend a whole yr looking for a job and still be waiting for a saviour

You are definitely ofe nmanu.

Depends on your skillset and communication skills. I got my current job through LinkedIn.

You'd get lots of rejections, sure. But make sure to update your CV properly, then try to get feedback (if possible) on why you're rejected (after an interview or test) and try to work on yourself before the next interview. When you get that one nice offer, none of the previous 200+ rejections would matter anymore.

Don't give up. Also, don't disregard recruiters. Some of them can take you places that your CV might not get to on its own.

Don’t give up

There is a reason no one is interested in your profile.

Ask a professional to review it. I am not one but I can look at your profile and tell you what I think.

All the best!

Omo I feel you mehn. I can totally relate because I have been there, and I know how frustrating it could be. So so annoying.. It's like no one is reading your applications. That's the problem with Nigeria. We are too much. Our population keeps spiralling out of control. Yet resources are getting more scarce everyday. Companies are folding up due to the harsh economic conditions. Everything is just so wrong with Nigeria. God gave us all that we need to make Nigeria a great nation. But Nigerians and their greedy and entitled mindset have made us remain where we are now. Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria.

yes, join networks like Rotary Club, Lions club, Full Gospel Business men fellowship. And be strategic, network and get engaged in creating value.
You tell them you presently have no job but want to volunteer.

I am sure if someone heard that as an MD or senior executive they will give you the chance to express yourself

What if you do jobs that are not rampant in Nigeria's job market like database Administration? Can online volunteer jobs do the trick?

How does one join Rotary club and Gospel business men club? Would one join everything like this?
