Congratulations! It has ended in praise.

Please rejoice ooo, because it is not easy.

The long wait has been rewarded.

I got a refusal though, for home ties both in Canada and Nigeria. Apparently, my ties in Canada are way more than those in Nigeria. I will order GCMS note. I may reapply or opt for the US. But US is priority right now.

I wish you all a delightful outcome in your applications. We learn every day, and some experiences are worthwhile, even though they are a bit sad. But we move!

I applied on March 11 by the way.

March folks will be getting decisions. Stay blessed.

Hello! Goodmorning. I’m sure you must have gotten responses already. I saw a video where a Visa consultant outlined some courses that are not considered progressive in Canada, and History is one of them. So going for that course is not an option, more so now that you do not have an experience in it.

Please go into Fashion, you wouldn’t even have to justify much... like you said, you have your portfolio. It is the only experience you have and that alone justifies going for a fashion postgraduate course.

Wishing you the very best.

Good morning house......... I have read and read and yet still not giving up
I have reached my conclusion
I'm not giving up, even with the positive vibes here I am still not giving up

Lemme make it short

I studied history and international studies and graduated 2015 with a 3rd class

I'm 32yers
Now I taught of having another bachelor degree in fashion design although I have 11years experience in fashion and I can easily give my portfolio.

Or
Would you think going for postgraduate in history will be helpful because I checked some schools and they started asking for portfolios, research and even volunteer work in my field line which I don't even have any........

Please where do I belong, where do I start from
How do I go about it
At least I'm tired of procrastinating, the time is now.........

Please with your experience advice me
And even with school options

Bec have watched YouTube tire, google sef.......

God will perfect all that concerns us as we do so

Good morning good people of NairaCanadians grin

17th April Applicant, grateful to God for the showers of PPRs so far, huge E hugs to those whose apppications were delayed/refused and plenty goodwill for all PPR hopefuls, including my humble self.

So I just got admission to UNBC for MBA after applying since February o and submitting my visa app for a PGC in a course(1 yr) related to my work experience.

I am so tempted to accept the offer and diss the PGC once I get my study visa(God abeg nah by faith, hope I am not counting my chickens before they are hatched) becauseeeeee.....

MBA in UNBC is a 21 months course, they only have classes once in a month and on a weekend, like wow?! grin

I am seriously tempted and I feel like ranting sha.

Let's all have a great day

Oh I got a little hope right now because I saw someone say eligibility started June 6.and ended less than five days. Mine is since February 25th nothing has moved. Only background check saying it's in progress. Imagining if eligibility takes up to a month too it would be such a long time to wait.

Anyway I'm having atleast hope that it will be facilitated.

We all will smile ijn

I wanna say thank you to everyone here who have been supportive. Your kind words are deeply appreciated. Life is a journey, and moments like these are what make it worthwhile. The little things we do for others, the kind words, the friendly gestures, and the lessons learnt.

I am not new to failure, even though I have experienced great success. I know this is not the end of the road, but an eye-opener and a path to true victory. I will not drown in disappointment, but will be proactive and as quick as the wind.

I pray that those hoping to receive PPRs will get their heart desires. But wherever you are across the world, it's fulfilling your life's purpose that counts. May God continue to strengthen you all and be a blessing in your lives.

Yeah, I had upfront medical examination. It is well with you all.

VOs are humans like us, capable of making wrong decisions. That's why there's a judicial review but it's a long process. No one has time for that nonsense but some people do get the decision overturned.
Not too long ago, someone here was wrongly accused of payment chargeback. Some people have reapplied with just the inclusion of 1 additional document such as affidavit of support. A Jamaican youtuber reapplied with the inclusion of police certificate. These people shouldn't have been denied in the first place. All in all, one has to hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Wow, I really had high hopes for you and was always looking forward to your post. I don’t even know how to feel about this study permit application again. I’m also March but I’ve left everything in the hands of God.

While I await my GCMS note, these are possible reasons for my refusal. For the sake of new applicants, these are the things I did wrong?

I have siblings in Canada who have families. I and my parents are the only ones that reside in Nigeria. I didn't pay tuition fee (there was no acceptance fee attached to my program either). Hence, there could be a 'Purpose of Visit' concern. Could it be he wants to go live with his siblings rather than study?

I am single, mobile (This is not an issue for applicants, unless there are other things to consider, such as what I stated earlier).

I anticipated this, but I underestimated its impact.

I believe if I have to reapply next time, paying tuition is vital. Once GCMS note comes in, I will get a better understanding of what really happened.

Regina gave me admission and I didn't pay school fees! Does it show a redflag?

I saw a new way to apply for a study permit and I used it instead of the normal way of creating a GcKey. Now I think I’m the only one that used this path. Should I start again and go through the normal path?

*Note* I’m at the last phase of submitting my application.

Kindly check the picture uploaded below to confirm?

Has anyone used the method of applying?

And do I need to upload the Imme forms because I didn’t see anywhere to put it but I’ve already filled it in s section before getting to the last phase.

For those interested in FULLY-FUNDED THESIS-BASED GRADUATE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES in Canada e.g MASTERS, PH.D, POST DOC, it is expected of you to search for Professors whose Research Areas aligns with your Research Interests, Prior Research Experience, Academic Background then send a non-generic cold mail to them

POWER OF COLD MAIL

To everyone looking for Funded MS scholarship, MS Assistantship, Graduated Research Assistantship, etc. in US, Canada or other countries

Don't wait for ADVERTS FROM PROFESSORS LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES IN THEIR LABS, it might take a long time before u see that, so take the bull by the horn by looking for Profs. /Doctor's in your Field

Check their Profile, look for their Area of research, their current research, and check out their Publications, then link your research interests with theirs, create a Connection and tailor/show that your research interests aligns with theirs.

When you are done with that PREPARE A COLD MAIL and send it to them.

It has worked for many, it might be tasky, he/she who is intentional and don't give up will surely get to this promise land via this route..

This is an example

Let's assume am a Material & Metallurgy engineering graduate from a Naija University and am interested in doing my Masters in the same course in U.S or Canada

This is what I will do,

My Research Interests is in Nanotechnology and it relates to what I did in my final year Project.

So I went to google and I typed

"PROFESSOR OF MATERIAL ENGINEERING CANADA"

SOME FACULTY SHOWED UP and some Professors/Drs. Showed up,

I saw a am Associate Professor called Dr. Mauren Joel from McMaster University , Canada and I checked his Research Interest, and I discovered that nanotechnology WAS ONE of his Area of Research (NANO HEAT TRANSFER), so I checked his publication, with that, after reading his publication about nanotechnology I was able to bring about the reasons why I wanna be a MS/PHD student under his tutelage, so I drafted my Cold mail and shoot my shot, boom, he responded and said he is interested in working with me, that he would like to see some of my work and I should draft a research proposal, and SOP, he saw it and told me I will give you a letter so you can apply for the Graduate admission which is Fully funded

PERFECT COLD MAIL THAT HAS GOTTEN SOME PEOPLE FUNDING IN THE PAST

You must have something to offer before sending a Cold mail to a PROF.

In this mail, the following were highlighted

- INTRODUCTION
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
- YOUR INTERESTS AND GOALS
- CLOSING

See the sample below

As you can see, this Candidate did her due diligence on her cold mail and got a Positive response from than 3-profs.

So you guys should use this result oriented cold mail and tailor it to your own , then shoot it to the Prof.

Your "Mail Subject" should be related to what you wanna enquire from the Prof.

E.g

Fall 2022: M.SC Candidacy in Computer Science or in the Research Area

Fall 2022: Graduate Assistantship in So so so

Fall 2022: Teaching Assistantship in so so so

Fall 2022: MS Interest

Fall 2022: Prospective Graduate Student

and so on and so forth.....

Cold Mail Sample 3

As you can see, this guy got the Graduate Offer

Things you should be careful of about COLD MAILING a PROFESSOR

Don't send a generic cold mail to professors.

That is,
" Don't send the Cold Mail meant for Dr. Cardozo to Dr. Arinola"

In a nutshell, don't send one particular cold mail to multiple profs.

Make sure you take your time to tailor your cold mail in accordance to the RESEARCH AREAS etc. of a Prof.

- Don't ask for Funding from a Prof. in your Cold Mail, the Profs. already knows students are looking for funding.

You are to ask for Funding from a Prof. if you have been accepted and he/she forgot

Are you sure you’re using the right platform. Cause I applied a month ago and I didn’t see this new platform.

Why not use the regular GCkey area? Cos from what I can see here, you can only upload a file of 2mb and this would limit you a lot. It doesn’t cost you anything to follow the tested and trusted path.
