Alozie is really impressive on the right
I wondered why people said she was shaky, just because of two nutmegs. She hasn't mistimed a tackle yet.

Nice play by Oshoala. Showing why she is world class. Sets up Payne well but it's gone over.

Strong play by Ordega and she wins a freekick in a good position for us.

She just did. And that's the second time. But overall, she has been very solid and lively.

Chikwelu is such a fine ball carrier in midfield.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 2:55am On Jun 17, 2021
I know we haven't seen much of Esther Okoronkwo but her energy/pressing upfront is commendable.

And we have been cracked. Come on Mehn.

Ogbonna should have done better getting to that ball first.

Once we stopped posing any attacking threat, the game got done and dusted.

We have been saying it that she lacks some experience.
She was at a better position to reach that ball first and use her body instead of legs.

She should have done much better in stopping that ball from reaching Press! I would say it was a lack of awareness of the opponent behind her that resulted in that goal

Not impressed at all. The team is not good at all. Midfield is so bad that the defense is looking horrible. Asisat probably touched the ball 10 times in this match. I don't know why they do a throw-in the same way.

Lol.

Well, she's the one who cleared that last US chance away with a strong header. She had made a few interceptions in this game on her side so "very useless" is a harsh assessment.
But she really should have done better to win that ball first.

Even if you wanna play a low block, the midfield must still be able to hustle the opposing midfielders. For the majority of that 1st half, the midfield did nothing to protect the defense, exposing the back to incessant raids from Rapinoe, Press, Dunn and Mewis. That has to change in the 2nd half.

Moreover, the players need to be way more confident on the ball and know when to release a pass early. Too many times in that first half, the likes of Ordega, Okoronkwo and Chikwelu held onto the ball for far too long, allowing the US players to easily dispossess them off the ball. I don’t know why our players think they’re up against the likes of Sudan or Mali that would allow you to get away with such casualness on the ball.

The midfield is bad and can't control the game that's why. They ballon the ball forward most times giving possession back to the USA. If the midfield is good I'm quite sure chances will come. If you check Asisats game in Barca, she basically doesn't do much, she does tap in goals. It's the midfield in her club that's the brain in their game.
