Big leads are deceptive in the NBA especially because of the 3 ball.. Teams don’t really have to go through progressions.. Opposing teams can get streaky shooting it and the lead is gone..

Welcome to the NBA Terrence Mann.. I think it is unfair that the Jazz are tasking Gobert with closing these perimeter shooters..

Yeah Like in 2019 when the raptors came back against the Mavericks after trailing by 30points Lowry just finished them from down town having consecutive 3s time after time again though their badass defence counted too From that game onwards huge leads haven't really fazed me but kawhi's absence would have made one think the jazz would obliterate them after that first half performance
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:35am On Jun 19, 2021
Going into the off-season, I know the NBA have to be scratching their head on what to do about the 3 ball. This is not basketball na.. Everybody is just spamming the 3 ball, I can’t even separate both teams.. no one is calling timeouts because there is nothing g to draw..

Thats how you know Jazz cant win this. When even Bevs 3s are falling, you know its over. Their defensive scheme to prevent PG3 from beating them has opened the floodgates for Mann and Reggie

Nah they wont. All they know is revenue. This type of basketball sucks for people who love the game, but it will draw more casual fans.

I'm seeing verified Twitter handles have that opinion. It's madness bro.

We cry Steph doesn't have enough spacing/shooting but you still want Simmons.

Lol, I don't think so.. The difference in time zone is a major factor why most people don't really watch NBA games..
I meant you don't expect people to be awake around 1,2,3 AM everyday just to watch a game..

KD as great as he is needs a super number 2 and a good number 3 to win games..he’s not a leader and can’t carry a team...still one of the best pure scorers tho..and definitely one of my favs..but I’m rooting for the bucks to win this series..and hopefully make it to the finals.
The nba has changed within the past decade. No player without a super number-2 or 2-very good allstar caliber players can lead his team from first round of playoffs to win the championship.

The other times it happened, the solo-super-number1 was lucky to meet an opposing team that had one or two injured top3 of their players.

Never bro. Draymond is far far better than simmons.

Draymond at his prime could shoot. At least attempts and hit most of them.

Also, without the ball, draymond was/is more involved in warriors offence than simmons would ever be in phili.

Physically, draymond is a beast compared to simmons.

.... Let me ask you a question, if the champions league quater finals(football) , semi finals or finals fall to this time you stated will people watch it. The worst that will happen is you will watch only your team play and not every team, because it is late into the night. The NBA is highest level of basketball in the world, do you think if it were the higest level of football that was played at the middle of the night or early morning, people will not watch. You know there are games that start around 8 pm local time and they still do not watch much.

After seeing what the clippers did to the jazz with the so called DPOY, i can confidently say that if only the fake-ass unicorn on my team showed up for 2 of those 7 games series, I'll definitely be in the finals. Chai! This thing pain me sha. I always knew this jazz team was another one of those notoriously overrated first seeds. They are too one dimensional and they lack the superstars(plural) to take them over the edge. (don't @ me with your "DoNOvan miTCHell iS a SupERstaR" comments, there are levels to this thing.). Well, make una prepare for luka's revenge season next year. Baby goat is snatching souls on his way to mvp next season. Boss, abeg, you wan reawaken my PTSD. I remember going on a hiatus from basketball for 3 months, and that was the game i resumed with. I just dey my room dey go through the 5 stages of grief as i dey watch that game. 30 point lead, disappearing bit by bit. The painful part is you could not really fault the players defensively. Those brothers were in the words of steven a. smith "pulling up from thur'ty". Be like say na horror film man just dey watch that day. The thing is, it has come to stay, it the era of the three pointer so everyone would just have to learn to deal with it.

Josh, the difference is Steph is the EXCEPTION and that is what everybody else has failed to realize. Just because Steph reinvented the league and can do it doesn’t mean everyone should do it! That is a skill reserved for very special people.
It’s a sorry sight for the league and it has to be gaining some traction within the league. Again, I am not saying people shouldn’t shoot the 3 ball but what we are watching is spamming! The Clippers shot over 70%.. we know that’s not basketball.

I remember during the regular season and some games into the post season, I said I don’t trust the Jazz on this thread irrespective of their injury situation and that is because of how they play.

The Jazz shoot way too many 3’s and last night, they met a team that caught fire from the 3 also. They play way too many ISO ball with Donovan who, don’t get me wrong is a good player but can get carried away.

You rarely see P&R between Donovan and Gobert, Infact, it doesn’t exist. The set up for the Jazz is simple and that is why they have wings like Ingles/Bogdanovic. Donovan is basically either running to the bucket to get a shot, playing ISO or kicking it out to those two.

Gobert was a sorry sight and no fault of his but it was wrong to expect Gobert to cover the perimeter throughout the post season.

Q. Snyder could easily have gone to the small ball by removing Gobert when the Clippers were starting to cook from downtown but no, he stuck to it and that is the reason they are out.

Also, Gobert had 0 blocked shots and had 3 fouls I think.. That tells you he should have been out because the game was being played outside his strength during the charge.

Basketball doesn't command a global fellowship like football, and as such, the attention given to it is lesser..
The 8pm games you talked about are only for Saturday and Sundays....
Most people outside of the US simply don't have the time to watch games...
Mind you, the last FIBA world cup had about 3 billion TV viewership...

Obviously... I'll never ever downplay stephs greatness/ prowess. Just saying most yougings coming into the game now would rather negate the fundamentals of the game, while still having Very low Iq and just Work on shooting 3s cos they've seen steph do it. Steph is different and is well grounded in the game coupled with the Exceptional shooting prowess. When the shots are not falling in steph still kills you with his movements and shii off the ball, gets rebounds and assists.

I really want to see how tye lue's small ball will hold up against top tier nba centers like Embid/giannis. You know, this is one of the consequences of the three-ball. When the shots are falling and it seems you can't miss, it is always a sight to behold. Then you enter a cold stretch and all of a sudden, you've forgotten how to run plays and schemes. With mavs, the clippers got away because my supposed centre was being out rebounded by frigging campazzo in the first round. With Utah, i would not understand for the life of me, when clippers went to small ball, why snyder did not just say, "okay guys, i want you to just keep feeding Gobert with lobs and running PnR for him? The amount of corner threes that Mann and the clippers overall made was what killed this game, and the blame falls solely on snyders lap. The mavs could have complained that they lacked the personnel and we over achieved by taking them to 7 games. The jazz? Not so much. To think Kahwi did not even play the final 2 games of the series just shows how much of a monumental choke job this was from the jazz. This off season is setting up to be one for the ages.
