You obviously, a village boy. Where in Nigeria will you not find such road or even better, such buildings or similar, or even something better?

Reason for once, developments is not your building residential buildings let's talk about industries, human resources and stop acting like you've never seen a tarred road before in your life.

You actually more modern. Because I reacted directly to your post of editing pictures with what I sent and you immediately made it a thing of village. grin

Lagos State is already doing this. Rolling out 3,000km fibre optics around the state.
This is excellent to hear, though I have to wonder exactly how they're counting the "3000km" in question. The distance from London to Moscow is only 2500km by air, so what sort of accounting are LASG using? None of the news reports I've seen go into any detail. At any rate, it's good to see that at least one state governor has his eye on the ball.

these are the biggest estate in Africa that is located in Ogun grin grin

Check out sea of buildings in Onitsha

Coupled with the biggest estate in Africa,Ogun state has the largest funded number of estates in the SW including Lagos.

Maureen Ihua-Maduenyi

Ogun State has the largest number of funded estates in the entire southwest, the Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Mr Ahmed Dangiwa, has said.

Dangiwa, made this known at an enlightenment programme for the re-admission of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees and members of the Nigerian Union of Teachers into the National Housing Scheme in Abeokuta.

Dangiwa who was represented by Deputy General Manager, Field Office Coordination Group, Mr Sunday Ogunmuyiwa, said about N500m had been refunded to 4,858 retirees, who were contributors to the National Housing Fund in Ogun State, among many other achievements.

He said, “Under the FMBN Home Renovation Loan, over N283m has been disbursed to 354 beneficiaries in the state. A housing estate project at Laderin Phase 1, in the state is funded by FMBN through the disbursement of loans to 171 beneficiaries while the ministerial plots scheme at Ajebo, is also funded by the bank.

“It is on record that Ogun State has the largest funded estate in the entire Southwest. Other estates include Rockview Estate in Abeokuta; Sparklight Estate, Ibafo; Davids Court, Arepo; Master Golden and Evangel Estates in Ofada; New Creation Estate and Noah Pavilion, Mowe; Oba Sikiru Adetona Estate, Ijebu; and Metro Park, Abeokuta, among others.”

He said the FMBN, empowered by law to manage the NHF, had the responsibility to provide long-term loans to contributors to buy, build and renovate an existing residential accommodation.

He stated that the bank would ensure that Nigerians who contributed to the NHF benefitted more in President Muhammadu Buhari’s housing scheme.

According to him, the bank has scrapped equity contribution for houses costing not more N5m, while loan request above N5m but not more than N15 m attracts 10 per cent equity.

The Chairman, NUT, Ogun State, Titilope Adebanjo, commended FMBN for the success stories recorded in the state.

He, however, appealed to the state government to further reduce the cost of obtaining titles so as to facilitate the creation of more mortgages in the state.

The Chairman, NULGE, Olatunji Ayuba, said President Muhammadu Buhari should be commended for being faithful to his policies through the FMBN.

The State Coordinator for FMBN, Abeokuta office, Mr Babatunde Oyeyinka, stated that the bank was ready to serve contributors in the state and beyond.

He said the bank had gone digital which meant that the issue of passbook would soon be phased out, adding that housing scheme would remain open to all Nigerians in the public and private sector.

“I encourage all Nigerians above 19 years, especially in Ogun State and working in the public and private to register with the FMBN and subscribe to NHF.

The Director of Administration, Agric Cooperation Development, Mrs Dada Grace, while commending the bank for living up to expectations, adding that this, had given credibility to the FMBN.

Demand for luxury real estate is growing in Nigeria, and so are prices.

Data from PrivateProperty.com.ng, Nigeria’s largest property portal, was used to identify 10 of the most-expensive luxury real estate locations in Nigeria, according to VenturesAfrica.

Buyers of these luxury residences are mainly expatriates and non-residents operating businesses in Nigeria, the report said. Most residents cannot afford properties in these areas.

Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos has four of the 10 most-expensive locations. Abuja has three. Ibadan, Abeokuta and Port Harcourt also made the list with some of the most expensive properties in the country. There are other places in Nigeria with expensive property that are not listed here, the report said.

10. Ibara in Abeokuta (Ogun State) – 80 million naira/$500,000
High prices are forcing many out of the Lagos real estate market, VenturesAfrica reports. Abeokuta’s real estate market is growing fast as people look to outlying locations outside Lagos.

9. Alalubosa GRA in Ibadan (Oyo State) – 100 million naira/$625,000
Ibadan has been regarded by some as the most underdeveloped city in the world, but is started living up to its potential in the past few years.

8. Lekki Scheme I, Lekki (Lagos State) – 140 million naira/$875,000
The island of Lekki has been home to some of the most expensive property in Lagos, but demand for more luxury has pushed it down to No. 8 on this list, the report said. You can buy property for $875,000 in Lekki.

7. GRA Phase 2 in Port Harcourt (Rivers State) – 145 million naira/$906,250
Port Harcourt is home to many expatriates, many of whom work for oil companies in this
oil-rich city. Other buyers here include wealthy individuals who want to keep their money locally.

6. Ikeja GRA, in Ikeja (Lagos State) – 250 million naira/$1,562,500
Ikeja GRA is an integral part of the suburb of Ikeja. The GRA, or government reservation area, was created during the colonial period as a high-end residential area. Many wealthy Nigerians who want the quiet life choose this area and don’t mind paying $1.5 million or more to get it. You’d find several expats here to, VenturesAfrica reports.

5. Nicon Town in Lekki (Lagos State) – 320 million naira/$2,000,000
Nicon Town in Lekki is one of the emerging real estate markets in Lagos, with property costing more than $2 million.

4. Jabi in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 400 million naira/$2,500,000
Nigeria’s capital city comes in at No. 4 with property at Jabi costing at least $2.5
million. Many Nigerian politicians have homes in this area.

3. Asokoro in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 418 million naira/$2,612,500
One of the major districts in Abuja, Asokoro is an upscale area. It is home to the Nigerian Presidential Complex aka State House; Aso Rock (a 400-meter rock monolith and the city’s most noticeable feature); the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), National Intelligence Agency and the World Health Organization (WHO) office. Residential property is expensive here.

2. Maitama in Abuja (Federal Capital) – 430 million naira /$2,687,500
An area occupied by embassies and high commissions, Maitama ranks No. 2 on this list. Property here can cost $2.7 million or more.

1. Banana Island in Lagos (Lagos State) – 450 million naira ($2.81 million)
A man-made island in the Lagos Lagoon, Banana Island is slightly curved in shape – like a banana. It has one of Nigeria’s highest densities of millionaires within its boundaries, VenturesAfrica reports.

A three-bedroom apartment typically sells for $625,000 on Banana Island and a five-bedroom house can cost $2.81 million. Due to the cost of property, rentals are popular here. Rent for a three-bedroom apartment can go as high as $63,000 per year.

Banana Island residents include billionaire Mike Adenuga, chairman of Globacom; and Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of a former Nigerian president.
Other notable island residents include offspring of famous Nigerians including Kola Abiola, son of the popular late businessman Moshood Kashimawo Olawale “MKO” Abiola; and Saayu Dantata, son of the late Alhassan Dantata, a Northern Nigerian kola nut seller and considered the wealthiest man in West Africa at the time of his death in 1955.

Generally we do, but it’s getting much better (and development is a PROCESS)…
The Lagos Road Code (enacted under Fashola) mandates streetlights, sidewalks, signage and markings.

Perhaps the older roads (there are over 3000 roads in Lagos) and FEDERAL roads have not yet caught up…
But at least all relatively recent Lagos roads (including the 450 inner streets done by Ambode) meet the Code.

Meanwhile, if the environment in most of Lagos are not well-kept, look no further than the CITIZENS themselves…
People trade on sidewalks, piss/defecate on the streets, litter the streets, block drainages, steal manhole covers, railings, etc.

At some point CITIZENS/residents have to bear their own share of responsibility with the government (and pay taxes!)…
Because Nigeria’s condition (and future) is ultimately the culmination of the actions of ALL Nigerians, by commission or omission!

The only federal government project in Ikeja is the airport and Custom service at Toyin street.

All the other roads in Ikeja from awolowo, olowopopo, mobolaji bank Anthony, Allen, Opebi, Kudirat Abiola, Lateef Jakande, Toyin, oba Akran are all states owned and managed roads.

Even the Agege-motor road connecting oshodi to Ikeja along which a federal road, Lagos state government rehabilitated it and put BRT lane on it. You dey talk Jargons.
