I agree with you, however, another perspective about the highlight, sometimes, and this is from my experience, because the mechanic feels like he "knows" the car he is forever approaching your complaints from that angle. He doesn't feel the need to explore new possibilities regarding your complaints and might even become contemptuous in attitude.
Had an issue like that, every time I had something to complain about he would say na that thing, shebi he has told me what to do. Meanwhile all my research is pointing at a different cause and when I sought a fresh pair of eyes I was right. Some very minute things. So it's kind of touch and go with this in my experience

I think the keyword is good
Have one good mechanic...not every tom ,dick and harry...except if in an emergency situation. Let one good mechanic work on ur car so he knows d history and when something wrong happens u know who to hold.

My current mechanic knows how to prolong the life of linkages, and bolt joints. So u will safe alot of money with a honest and experienced mechanic, even when u think u know they still show u they know more than u if u trust them.

How would you know? If you meet me you wouldn't know and yet there are others that look the part and don't have shishi

We know by the money they give us.
I’m not talking about the rich in bank account but stingy to drivers. Talking about rich to drivers that will not negotiate or check bolt app but pay you for your time and patience, some for the company. Not some rich in bank account but poor in mind.

For example I just dropped a celeb and his manager. They were busy drinking all the way. Their driver was waiting on the other side cos they don’t want him to get stuck in traffic.
Long story short trip ended 2,300 then story of how he left all cash on the bed and manager handed me 2,300 as I was collecting it, I was giving him 200 and he collected it.
Before I picked them a lasu girl I picked gave extra 500 naira.
Now who is rich ?
The day olosho gave me 4k I was going to run out of the car.
So we know them by how much they give not how much the worth

I find it very reliable. With much use, you get acquainted with its use and direction.

Start out by using it everytime, within your neighborhood, and places you are conversant with the audio on. You will get used with its turn left in the next 500 meters, or keep right on the ramp.

With Google map, you shouldn't get lost

'Generous'. That's the word you wanted to use

There is a difference between being rich and being generous, even though some people actually combine both attributes.

Got an offline trip from iwaya road to ijako after Sango for 15k, I quickly rushed it, journey was smooth after escaping Maryland traffic, ekoro through old Otta road, to burst out Sango under bridge was where I encountered bad roads it was now raining heavily again, omo my car suffer oo, I sha managed to drop rider.

On my way back got a trip to ikeja, rider is just before Sango bridge, I accepted, came out with her dad and sis, started trip she now said I should drive fast (first red flag) that she doesn't wanna miss her flight, I was just laughing cos everywhere na red light, followed the bridge to toll gate, mad hold up there, turned back to follow the oju ore road as she directed. Later she started complain that I was driving with one hand, that my Google map is supposed to be talking out loud, I know say I don enter am today.

I was just silent and didn't oblige her, on the way the map directed me to a round about, as I was about taking a turn she said its a wrong way, told her the map was correct she said its the other way that if the voice was on she would have directed me well, she started shouting and the father couldn't even caution her, followed the way she directed, and we were headed towards where we were coming from, she started shouting again, I tuned and went back to where the map suggested and told it to her face that the map is almost never wrong, she begin shout again oo.

Wetin pain me pass was when she said if her fare increases more than what she saw she wasn't gonna pay me. Omo! I just park for one side and told them I'm not going anymore she started shouting that if I ended the trip ill not collect shishi, I said its fine, abeg you and your family should getat. I reported her immediately to bolt and left her there.

Most of these girls are uncouth, but you just need to exercise patience. I wan see how she no go miss that flight today.

Its reliable but not "very" reliable for a Lagos newbie. Best bet is to always ask your passenger the best route and always open up that you aren't conversant with the area. Deactivate that voice thingy. It's distracting.
