You're also seeing the difference.

1) Use the price history of previously similar sold names, afternic new beta version has that feature as a guide.

2) Buy Good names end users want, the type you would send only 1 outbound mail & no more. The type your gut immediately recognizes as a goldmine.

3) And the ability to confidently negotiate & reject prices even when you really need the cash.

And for some reason, buyers prefer to pay higher at Afternic.

Get number 2 right and you'll sell for more than $500 in a week. It's what everyone struggles with(finding great names)

Tell me something I don't know. Although, some cities are really generous. A little push and they go for it, even if it's a five-worder.

I try to stick with number 2 rule as much as possible now, with some impulse buys in-between. But most importantly, I stay far away from stingy cities.

One I've noticed in particular is DC. As popular as it is, I never register a name in DC unless it's a two-worder like plumbing or wedding. I don't know if it's only me but I never have any luck with that city. The only sale I made was for $125 and the enduser took three weeks to pay that.
I even have one domain that the daily view is great, they open the emails I sent them from time to time, but nothing from them, almost as if they're waiting for it to expire, which I've decided to renew when the time comes just to spite them.

Add Chicago too cuz it's a big city. Nyc too, if it's strong keyword but that one's tricky because those people are hard a$$es. I got my series of f**k offs from there. All in all, domaining is a nice boringly interesting career that needs thorough research and gives nice surprises along the way.

I have many Dallas beautiful domain names that are still unsold same with Miami.

Someone mentioned Philadelphia as a stingy city, but I have made recent sales from that city.

I have even sold domains recently from places I don't even know where they are and not sure of their population.

And can share more evidences if need be, in short I can write a thesis, to prove that investing and sales of Goe Domains is mainly and purely GOD GRACE.

While I'm just a baby in this journey (4+ months), I'm fairly sure it would be easier to sell Miami// Chiropractic than Burnsville// Chiropractic (Which I own by the way, if you have a buyer).

Yes, selling of GEOs is grace but you have to do your part. For example, if it's a small city, then it has to be a strong keyword relative to that city. I'm sure you would lower your expectation for selling Appleton// immigrationlawattorney like it's Miami counterpart sold. If it sells, that's where the nice surprise comes in (Like I'm going to have with my burnsville).

Yes, you can register it if it has potential end-users you can contact for possible sale. There is business idea behind the domain name which you can project before your target buyers. A lot of buyers out there don't even know they need keyword domain name until you tell them. A domain name without way back archive or history of previous web activities is possibly going to be hand registration.

It depends, if the domain has alot of end users like 150+, I would start with around $700-1000. Then challenge them to make an offer if they are not comfortable with my asking price. But if the end users are not that much, 400 straight.
