Onitsha people are terrible.

Is it like they hold weapons or what?
How do they force you to pay?

This story is horrible. No one in Nigeria should go through this

You're right. Nnewi is a calm version of Onitsha. And it's an established business hub
Nnewi and Onitsha are totally different.
The new plazas around round about are trying to replicate the Emeka Offor plaza style because that is where most of them came from but the Vigilante are teaching them serious lesson.
The difference between Nnewi and Onitsha is that when you are in Nnewi you'll know that you are in somebody's Town but in Onitsha, you'll feel like you are in no man's land. Sorry for using the word

Your own city in your state is far worse than Onitsha. Fact

I can authoritatively tell you that it's not. Strangers don't experience extortion and harassment at any park in the south west

I can authoritatively tell you that your state is by far worse than Onitsha. Onitsha is a major city with all the transportation companies in the city. You can't compare it to your jungle state of origin

You no get sense. It is because of that nonsense that I support Biafra.
They operate opposite police Checkpoints. The police protect them including the criminals at Emeka Offor plaza. For example if you are scammed at Emka Offor plaza and you complain to the police moving around they will reply "I no know Wetin you dey talk oh" but if you know ground like us just ask for directions to "Papa Ejimas" office and watch what will happen next. The police guide them because they don't care about what happens in Igboland.

Pardon my errors

I traveled yesterday from the southwest to attend a wedding in Owerri. I got to onitsha around 12 noon because of the vehicle. I have been directed to take keke to peace park. I took keke from the park, but the keke guy took I and the lady with me to another pack. On getting there, I was still confused because I didn't see the name 'peace' there. The guys there cut the ticket and wrote 2550 to Owerri... As I was trying to tell him No... Some guys came trying to harass the lady... Creating fear by trying to hijack her bag... So, she ran and said we should pay for the vehicle... The guy took us to the vehicle in disguise that he was trying to protect us saying onitsha is now bad... We paid and met some people in the vehicle.

To cut the story short... That same keke and another kept bringing people for them and they harass them that way. Once u enter that park... U can't go out... U will pay for the ticket under duress. We left there past 2pm....It was later I discovered the driver and vehicle was hijacked too... He was given 1k and they took the rest. The keke guys were positioned for it. They collected double money from some women, made them cry and they paid again. They vehicle was going to owerri, they took bayelsa and Portharcourt passengers and collected huge money but will not go with them.

One of those criminals said they can't be reported to the police because police is a syndicate too... In fact, I discovered that all the people we met in the vehicle were part of the team of criminals. The name on the ticket is 'All Roads park'.

I have not had this experience before... Lagos is not as worse as this from my experience. There is a big park beside this people, and nobody is rebuking them from this evil. They extort, hijack and make women weep. It is a terrible business...

How many of us have encountered such?

I've had similar experience several times.

I have experienced this before, 2019 when i was going to Ebonyi for my service year, decided to take a bus to Enugu and take Afikpo from there as directed. Exact thing happened to me and two other guys, i even paid 3thrice normal fee to enugu, i no sabi anything then, i just paid but my luck was that i and those guys filled up the bus, they settled the driver and we left there immediately. The persangers said theyve been seated in the bus for almost 3hrs, none couldn't get done because of the fear of being rubbed by these guys. They hijacked the bus too and brought the driver to the corner where the evil was perpetrated.

Meanwhile people were there but they all minded their business. It was such a bitter experience for a first time east traveller like me. I learnt the hard way actually.

They were there before Obiano and will still be there after Obiano.
We know all of them. I remember when I was too vocal about this before they called and explained a lot to me. After then I realised that the only way out was dissolution of Nigeria.
Let me tell you one secret. No agbero operates without the knowledge of police and they operate few meters from police Checkpoints. For example the one before dust bin site after Electrical Obosi is 2 meters before police Checkpoints. Most times both them and the police will be talking to the same driver at once

Someone collected money and vanished another person will appear to ask another money... U will pay whatever they ask under duress
Why this please?
THANK GOD THAT YOU WERENT HARMED IN ANY FORM MY BROTHER, ONITSHA IS A DREADFUL PLACE. MAY GOD GRANT U BACK IN DOUBLE FOLD WHATEVER U LOST FINANCIALLY.

You must open your eyes once you enter Onitsha. Upper Iweka most especially. They don't value life. Those guys go with knife, broken bottles and the rest. Shine your eyes next time. sorry for your experience. I forget to add Owerre road. Main market not that bad.

They look at people before doing that, mostly teenagers and women, and it only happens with does unregistered companies that brings out afternoon bus to Lagos. Have see them operate b4 ,they work with the driver.those guys will hang around the park and once they site you coming they act as if they want to rob you, harassing you,and if the driver tryes to plead on your behalf, they will slap and threating to beat him up,at that point you will be scared and run into the bus,the driver will now come and be telling you to pay huge money and stay inside the bus.I saw them doing same thing to everybody that came to that park that day except I and one other Yoruba matured looking man...

You didn't include the location of the park. You should have reported the case to police for formality sake.

What do you want us to do?
Do you want them to call police on us?
Whenever you are in such situations in Anambra, the only people that can save you is Vigilante boys. Even task force are compromised but they help most times

You'll get justice immediately.
You will see the criminal that was bragging in front of police begging.
I don't know if he still works there now but then he was active and dedicated to his job. He doesn't entertain the word "scammed" or "he refused to balance me my money"
He is a super hero
