If possible, please run from that course, u will regret at d end, get a jamb form now n go for civil engineering, I study physics with a nice grade, so don't joke with this advise.

Anything you see at d end of the road manage it

Currently you are running Quantum physics, they will b fooling you with words like infinite potential well and your head is swelling, egungun b careful

Everyone of them advising you, watch out very well, they switch to other things outside physics

I hate my physics teacher like mad. One day one day, I will catch him in public. I will beat him like he's a conductor trying to run with my change.

Most of the notable Inventors and scientists are all physicist, this is a very good discipline and I will encourage your to continue and soar high in your choice of course, I know you don't see job adverts with a physic degree, but that's because you've been looking at the wrong place.

Most adverts on programming and coding, go with a physics degree and not only computer science degree as it where.

N.B: As a Physicist it is expedient and sacrosanct that you know programming, coding, Big Data, Data Analysis or something more technical and complex. Great Physicist, I'll see you at the top. wink
Regards.

That's one of the best courses. Physics is the basis of engineering and gives you a very good footing to understand any form of engineering if you want to.

Forget the advice of going for civil engineering. The best thing you would do for yourself right now is to start learning code. Learn programming and combine it with your physics degree and the sky is the limit.

Physic is not useless, Bro.

That it didn't favour some people doesn't mean yours will be the same.

Physic is basis for all engineering.
In Nigeria, You'll find opportunities in solar industries, engineering services ( this is very broad!)

I studied chemistry but work as an engineer today. If I were to go back to undergraduate for a science degree, I'd rather do physic ( but no regret)

Physics is one of the best scientist course on Earth

As a Physicists you can be found working in colleges, universities, research labs, hospitals, power plants, museums, the military, even NASA, law firms, oil fields.

But i will advise you to further your masters abroad to get a better chance of success

Physics as a course is the bedrock of science and engineering.

My son graduated with a second class upper at Unilag, did his masters in physics at Unilag, got employed by AXA as a back end programmer for about 18 months, and presently on scholarship in the United State as a graduate assistant in a university and also studyibg for PhD in physics all paid for by the States.

The gospel truth is that, you must first have passion for what you do to be able to excel in it.
Understand the course very well, you could become an inventor. Physics is beautiful

It's way better studying Physics than those five years mumbo-jumbo engineering disciplines as you both get to work in almost every industry (if you decide to remain in Nigeria). I've prepared the CV and cover letter on behalf of someone with a degree in Mathematics for an investment banking role (only Physics grads were told to apply alongside Mathematics grads).

If you desire to leave, you have plentiful of choices as you can even do PhDs in other disciplines say Economics. It's the bedrock of engineering and trust me, you have good career prospects as you can fit into almost every science/math/STEM based industry.

Finally, it's not until you see a job ad mentioning "Physics grads can apply" before you apply. Unless explicitly stated, you are at liberty to apply for any graduate trainee position. If Psychology grads can apply to audit and consulting firms, why not a Physics grad? The good news is: you have greater chances of acing assessment tests aka Dragnet, GMAT, Workforce etc., than those from non-math background. If I was well grounded in Mathematics from secondary school, that is one course I would have applied directly to study because you get to spend less time unlike those in engineering (Nigeria is a less industrialised country and has a very low manufacturing output). Spend time now learning coding and see yourself doing the most lucrative aspects of it as they are technical (your physics background will be very helpful here).

Damn I was the best in Physics while in Secondary school. It was the reason I studied Engineering before I transitioned to computer programming. Still got love for Newtonian Physics.

Run from Physics if you do not have the mental capacity for it. It's not for the weak. I studied physics and enjoyed every bit of it. The knowledge/skill gained has proven priceless.

300 Level in school? And you're still asking such question? Better study your physic but most importantly start creating wealth via any means possible. But if you chose to depend on your paper, make sure you have the right connection or hold your cash, with that you can work anywhere. Welcome to Nigeria!

It isn't but Nigeria has made it useless.

Be prepared to go for Masters and specialize in a field.

Some courses are almost not essential again, for example Banking, Finance and Insurance.
