doghorp: Being a physics graduate, I can boldly tell you that you are on a right track only if you are ready to give it all it takes & go extra mile. Depending on the physics option you opt for, as a communication physics graduate -you fit into any thing communication. Radio communication, digital electronics, medical physicist- x ray specialist, optical Physics , Data analytics, AI, Networking & other system engineering, cyber security etc. I will advice you to not only pay attention to your degree courses but also try online trainings and certifications in line with Physics aspect you have strength in & have passion for. Wish you the best in your career pursuit. |

Bro Its is not a useless course, I studied Mathematics and was as confused as you till I graduated, but I now work as an Engineer earning very big above Doctors(consultant). Please Don't be discourage. You will understand better on the other side. What I will advice is that you search deeply for related Jobs/skill to physics that you love and can do/learn. |

Let me confess that I did not read every page. When I started reading the first page, I was scared to death! I could not believe that there are Physics graduates willing to ridicule a course that takes mighty brains to study. I still remember that Maths Maths Physics with pride. Thank Goodness, others came to the rescue. There is a lesson here, whatever you have, if you do not know how to use it, everything is useless. This is not about Physics alone, the mother of biology and chemistry. It is about the talents we have in Nigeria and our inability to use our natural resources. Thank you guys. |

Physics is a fundamental discipline. You can switch to whatever you want later. As a non-technological nation, not appreciating the value of Physics is not surprising. |

Dozis: He is African.he can choose to toil with the white Man’s language any how he likes.he didn’t ask for it but it was imposed on him through trans generational slavery and made a norm. I don’t see anything wrong he can’t communicate properly in English, cos a whiteman wouldn’t giving a flying fvck if he was pronouncing a Yoruba words incorrectly or speaking bad Igbo. So yeah, there u have it. 1 Like |

Go and ask Chinese graduate or post graduate students in European and American universities. I tell ya, Africans have been conditioned to mental slavery. Dozis: 1 Like |
Re: Is Studying Physics Actually A Useless Course In Nigeria? by Dozis: 1:54pm On Jul 13, 2021 |
laiperi:Mental slavery my foot, the last time I checked no University curriculum in Nigeria is written in in local dialect and one of the major requirements to study in any Nigerian University is credit in O level English language. Moreover, he should have written what he wrote in pidgin instead of murdering English language. Stop defending nonsense all in the name of Africanism |

Chai, see me see trouble o! What have you done with your Queen's or perfect English to lift Africa up? Many Chinese and other none English speaking countries got Nobel Prize in Arts and Sciences in their languages. Here we are, an African man searching for O level in English. I bet you cannot even master your native language. Shame nor dey catch una. Dozis: 1 Like |

laiperi:No be only see you see trouble, champion the teaching of every subject in Nigeria or Africa with local dialects and I will start taking people like you serious, you use the white man's technology, you wear his clothes, drive his cars and learn his technology, you learn in his language and we are even corresponding right here on nairaland in his language. I can speak my language very well without adding English to it till I finish any conversation . Anything that is worth doing is worth doing well, if you deem it fit to write and study in English language, why don't you do it very well |
Re: Is Studying Physics Actually A Useless Course In Nigeria? by laiperi: 10:09pm On Jul 13, 2021 |
Sir, you sound like a Frenchman that went to Quebec Canada and told someone that was or is not how to speak French or an Englishman that told an American that is not how to speak English! Yeah, you guess where each of them were told to go. I do get your point though. My beef with you is that: language perfection is good but not equal to intelligence. Arguendo, so since we use English tech and clothes, we should lie down and suck up more of it or just lie down and die for them? BTW, tech does not belong to a culture. It is stolen by one eg Americans from Europeans. When Americans accused the Japanese of stealing tech, they forgot they stole it too. The Chinese also stole. Well, guess what? The British stole it from Africans! Dozis: |
