I applied for EA in Abuja July 6 and got approved yesterday. I was able to book a July date.

Hi, please how were you able to choose your date for the Emergency interview, I didn’t see that option?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Approvalll: 8:29pm On Jul 13, 2021
What documents did you upload
sslooss:

I cancelled my Lagos appointment first, then booked regular appointment in Abuja, then requested for emergency appointment.

Yes I filled a new DS160 for Abuja then updated it on my CGI profile.

Yes my EA was approved. They responded after 6 days (weekend included)

I was just kidding with my previous reply. Try this school, southern Illinois university.
North Carolina Agric and technical university (be prepared to do WES to gain admission here)

Apply very early to these school in order to get the assistantship you desire.
Thanks, man.

Try to DO WES Evaluation!!! You may actually not need GRE like that but WES Evaluation is important in this case as regards your course of study.
Thanks.

Your answer to “why US” comes across as insincere. The US does not have a monopoly on classrooms a d world class facilities. You can find these in the UK, Canada or Germany.

Also if indeed world class facilities are what appeal to you, then why Xavier instead of Yale, Harvard etc.?

The “why Xavier” section is very good and personal to you.

Big Chief, Thank you. I knew something was wrong with this particular response you pointed out. I have to rephrase it now, so it doesn't sound insincere.

Why USA?
US is home to "most" of the worlds finest and well- ranked institutions, offering Topnotch Academic programs, with great opportunities than almost anywhere! In addition, US has well funded research programs, well equipped labs, Facilities and The most world class education there is.

Hi guys,
My resumption date is August 23 and I filled for ER in Lagos. After following up on them I got a “we will get back to you in 2 business days” email on the 3rd of July (11 days ago). Time is running out. Any advice would be appreciated
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by chibertha(f): 7:02am On Jul 14, 2021
It doesn't affect it except the limit on your card for POS etc transactions is low.
Alternatively you can do direct transfer to the airline bank account in Nigeria or use a trusted travel agency eg Wakanow

Well I believe the answer to WHY USA is similar to “why do your course in the US?”. So your answer should why the use with respect to your course of study.

For instance, if I am going for my masters in Intellectual property Law in the US and I am asked why the US. My answer will be “ The US legal system has contributed significantly to the advancement of the Nigeria legal system with respect to Intellectual property. This will be a system to learn from to be abreast with legal advancement in Intellectual property .” Something like that.

Hope you understand?

Hi Everyone!

I hope y'all are having a great day, Please help criticize my proposed transcript. You can rephrase and come up with whatever response you feel is better.

Where are you going to? I am going for a bachelor’s degree program in computer science at the illustrious Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Why US? US have the best classrooms in the globe. USA has by far and away the best labs, the best facilities and the most world class education there is. In addition, USA has the finest ranked institutions, Topnotch Academic programs and offer greater opportunities in Computer science than almost anywhere in the globe.

Why Xavier University? I choose Xavier University for a variety of reasons. First, asides that I was awarded a full tuition scholarship, I have also been offered a place in her unique google in-residence program where I will be taught the basics of programming in python. Second, the google program offers internships which will help me gain many technical and non-technical skills, make personal and professional connections and build a strong resume that sets me apart from other students. Lastly, Xavier University provides a fantastic learning environment because the classes are small, the coursework are more diverse and students have more time with their professors.

How did you hear about Xavier University? I did an online research for universities that offer a flexible computer science bachelor’s degree program and Xavier University was one of the Universities I came across after streamlining my search to those universities whose entry requirements aligns with my test scores.

Why computer science? I choose to study computer science because it influences every field of study and impacts everything; ranging from scientific research to health development, Communication, Banking, and Transport. asides that, I enjoy programming and have passion for Innovation. This computer science program is awesome because it will equip me with the necessary skills and opportunity to create something brand-new and to develop the mental ability to attack difficult problems in a variety of field.

How many schools did you apply to? I applied to Six (6) schools using the common application. They are: Xavier University, Howard University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of South California , Morehouse College and Vanderbilt College.

Will you go for masters? Of course not, I intend to pursue a 4-years degree program in Computer science only. Although my i-20 reflects a 5-year time-frame instead of 4-years. My designated school official, Ms. Megan explained that they generally list 5-years as the program time-frame instead of 4 years, taking into account if a student has to take 12 hours initially for a semester or two to assist in transitioning to US Studies, in addition to if courses are failed, have to be taken again, or the student gets sick and has to withdraw from courses. Again, the 5 years provides a little cushion in the event circumstances occur that require the program to be extended a little longer.

What afforded you this scholarship? My admission application in total which includes my essay, SAT scores, Recommendation letters and my evaluated transcript.

What have you been doing since graduation? I started a foundational diploma program at Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu to improve my knowledge and skills in computer science as this has always been my passion and interest, after which I started working on my college application and I later wrote the SAT Test which has eventually earned me a full tuition scholarship at Xavier University.

What will this program do for you? A computer science degree would equip me with necessary skills and opportunity to create something brand new and to develop the mental ability to attack and solve difficult and complex problems in a variety of fields. I intend to establish a Cyber-security consultancy Firm that will create and carry-out measures that will protect companies systems and Network. Maintaining cyber-security has become increasingly important for business survival, considering the magnitude of cyber-security attacks and data breaches on SMES, health, public, private, financial and Non-financial institutions. So in this role, I would focus on understanding the risks to the security of data and information, and help companies analyze where security breaches may occur or have occurred and restore and or re-enforce the system against such breaches to ensure that confidential data is well protected from attacks.

Who will cover your outstanding deficits? My uncle (who is also my godfather) will pay for the fees that are not covered by my scholarship award.

What does your Uncle do for a living? My uncle is an established business man, He owns a real-estate company that has estates within and outside Abuja metropolis and he is also imports automobiles, and trucks of all kinds.

What is your plan upon graduation from Xavier University? After the completion of my bachelors’ program, I will return home to participate in our compulsory NYSC program for fresh graduates. I will also establish a Cyber-security consultancy firm that will help entities, and companies to create, plan and carry-out measures to keep its infrastructure secured and to protect its system and network from being compromised from attack.

What is your study plan?
I will take a total of 122 degree hours for duration of 4 years. Some of the courses I will be taking in my freshman year includes: Calculus, Critical thinking, Composition and Oral communication, Elementary Spanish, Introduction to Computer science, CS lab I, Chemistry, Introduction to business and Entrepreneurship, and some compulsory lab practicals and seminars.

Have you been to US before? No, I never had a reason to visit until now.

V.O. I will be approving your visa. Have a great study time at New-Orleans.

Madam Lagosismyhome, The Ogas--- Twoods, Fairheart, Walspring.

Regarding your answer on “will you go for your masters after your program should be as simple, short and close to be honest as possible. I don’t think the whole thing about the duration on the I-20 is really relevant.

My opinion though.

Considering you have a good travel history (based on what you said), what reason was indicated on the refusal paper you were given? There are people who got their visa during Trump administration.if you don’t mind, you can share your last transcript and let the gurus in the house review.

Regarding EA, I don’t think there is a time frame for responses. I think you just have to wait patiently. While waiting, try to prepare for the interview by faith. Prepare well !!!
