If we dont get it right in this country all we will keep hearing is billions, trillions and quadrillion yet quality of life is zero..................Even the government is afraid of spending Naira and finds all means to force Naira on our throats while it spends dollars.......

Number one real asset is definitely real estate. In some climes, you can also add precious metals like gold bars to your real asset portfolio.

Boss i dont totally agree with this. Real Estate just like NSE had some end of it that is junk while some even in present situation is still hot cake. it depends on proper dimensioning before you go into it.

e.g. doing anything on the high end of the real estate now (whether buy or rent) could be a recipe for disaster because d major thing fueling that end is corruption / enbezzlement proceeds

The bolded is one major problem in Nigeria real estate market.

On NSE funds could be tracked, certain types of trading can be regulated.

But the real estate market is not easy to control.

According to the EFCC, real estate is a major money laundry conduit.
That's why you see people buying overpriced properties allover the place.
