South Africa urgently needs structural reform. It can't go on like this.

The most important reform is to I act laws that will make the labor force flexible. This will help in creating lots of jobs. Joblessness in South Africa has always been structurally because of rigid labor laws.

Job creation will also help reduce the budget as it will bring in taxable income. The rigid labor laws was the price south Africa had to pay for labor unions support of the black struggle during apartheid. ANC had no choice but to dine with the devil.

It may need to start an ambitious privatization plan. This however will be contentious as the ANC fear will be of white South Africans buying most of the shares.

They can manage this fear by ensuring a certain percentage goes to blacls and other disadvantage, preferably at a discount. If they do decide to sell at a premium later to whites, no problem.

It needs to fight crime harder.

Reforms needed are still much.

It is not hyping , South Africa is ahead of Nigeria in all aspects of life . No cities in Nigeria can stand with SA in terms of opportunities and development. We have a failed government in Nigeria , while SA has strong democratic institutions. South Africa has her problems also but please don't compare Nigeria with South Africa.
