NB : I don't womanize , I don't smoke neither do I drink.
Japa things on my mind before it's too late , I heard Nigeria of today is a paradise to Nigeria of tomorrow .

You earn 250k as single and you don't have savings Them suppose flog you

50k for each additional household member
I swear this your formula though looks simple, but very realistic.

I suppose you have other source(s) of income though, or were you able to achieve all these with 200k per month?

cheesy cheesy NO. Purely on that amount!
You see, it's a long story!
I grew-up very poor, I actually did not know much about the luxury of life. When I started working after my NYSC, I was earning about 11k per month (private organisation), I was trecking all over the town and also going further in my education, then after my second degree I got a better job of about 40k per month and now I am in a place where I earned around 200k per month.
Luckily for me, I married somebody that is absolutely un-materialistic, we could go for months without buying new cloths and there will be no issue, she does not use jewelries and as long as what she wears on her feet protects her feet, she is OK wink

250 -350k/month. Currently, anything less than that is grade 2 struggling.

Lol, the amount you quoted is also struggling, I earn more than that as a single guy, I don’t smoke, womanise nor do pass myself but it’s still the same. The cost of living is really high this days

I'm on 250,000 NGN/month and we are still struggling.

Food,
house rent,
children school fees,
light bill,
water bill,
car servicing,
generator and car fueling,
parents in the village,
security (vigilante) fees,
my own school fees,
too many bills jare.

Although, it became worse between 2016 till date.
Prices of everything have gone up almost 1000%.

It is unfair.
asin...the situation is so frustrating

It keeps going up unstop

Some of this people mentioning 200-300k monthly salary are all liars. It seems the Nigeria you are living is different from ours.
Don't come on nairaland to intimidate people earning far lower than you. If we had your type of connection things would have a lot more been better for us.

Things are getting worse everyday in Nigeria and high salary is not the solution.

If Nigeria becomes habitable, an average salary can sustain.

You are a smart person.

How much is your rent?
Do you have kid(s)?
How much do you save up monthly for the car and land?
Do you get other income aside your salary?
Lastly, what year did you start saving for the car and land and when were they purchased?

Please be honest with your answers, we want to learn financial management from you sir.
about my rent: if you read through the thread you will see where I said something about my building and my rent too.
I also mentioned somewhere that I have a kid.
For the land and building, I really can not say much other than that I was involved in contribution (that type of contribution where you collect on rotation). For the car, I was saving about 100k a month, I sold some things too together with cooperative loan (I think, honestly, it took me like two years to fully own the car o cheesy )
I do not have any other income aside salary, though I am seriously thinking of getting one now.

Just as some thinking people have been saying, no amount is actually enough, but I earned 200k a month, I am married and my wife is not working.
I recently saved up and bought a car of around 2.3m naira, I have a plot of land with moderate building on it. I think I am not doing bad at all cheesy
please how long have you been working? Also do you have kids?

By the grace of God,I earn 700k monthly.
After all statutory deduction, and a additional monthly float I get around 680k net monthly.
I have a daughter and my wife is not working.

I save 300k monthly. I live in a room and parlour mini flat here in lagos for 360k yearly,I can conviniently pay from my one month salary.i don't live large, but at atimes I still struggle with 380k monthly .house expenses, family give aways and all.

I have a reasonable savings in a fix deposit and planning to start a business for my wife to grow our income. But I want to wait till after 2023 elections so that we see the situation.

I thank God the giver of all good things.my life changed when I started attending MFM
I was once a security man and Uber driver in this lagos as a young graduate.

Anything below earning 200k monthly in Lagos without side hustle will be a real struggle to live a quality life
700k? God dey so? My salary na 12k o. It's more than crazy

It depends on the part of the country you're in, whether or not you have collaborative income, the demographics of your dependants & their bills and your own bills.

Let's start with 1m per month.
How many Nigerians earn this?

Just wondering how much is required for one to have a good life in Nigeria.

Why most of our youths are migrating abroad is because of the unfair advantage of being paid more even doing odd jobs abroad.

So how much can one earn in Nigeria as a salary to be comfortable?

Also I know this might be location dependent.

As people living in lagos, porthacourt and Abuja might have more living expenses.

Also what are other ways to earn if the salaries of available jobs are not enough?

Let's share ideas

#250k in my current location and will be okay for me..Am single

For a family of six like mine, 500k monthly pay will go a long way. School fees and rent are my major headache.

I earn about 450k. It can rise above 550k depending on overtime payment and other allowances. My rent in a 2 bedroom apartment is 350k. I pay 70k monthly allowance to my wife and I have three children in primary/secondary schools. I really do not have any savings due to high monthly bills. Fortunately, i am building my house in the Lekki-Epe axis with extra income from side hustle and that has been my consolation for now. When I was working as a security guard with a 45k monthly salary, i thought I'd be more comfortable if I have a job that pays me 100k monthly. Now i know better
