Even the cost implication of getting a good lawyer as well as the time wasted is enough punishment for her stupidity.. And moreover, the awards of degree is not limited to academic performances alone, characters & integrity of students are also a factor.. Moreover he is just signing out probably after writing her final paper still awaiting the final semester exams results, there's really no guarantee that he will pass all and her stupidity has given a good ground for the school senate to deal with her so I doubt there would be a case to take to court.

The way to investigate her is by setting exam for to rewrite, since the school didn't see her with any material.... If she really pass her exam without malpractice I don't think it would be a problem to retake the exam again....

If found wanted for suspicious or a character that doesn't promote the image of the institution. Its stupid to compare Yahoo, which have no limitation and been regulated by both international and national body to small legal institution who makes and regulate their exam malpractice law.

We have all done stupid things as students. It is not every stupid thing a student does that will warrant withdrawal of certificate. The student also worked for that certificate, paid school fees etc so it doesn't mean the school can just wake up one day and say we want to withdraw your certificate. This girl was earlier declared passed. If she self confessed to a malpractice which is debatable because she might as well bought that cloth like that and she can claim it wasn't meant for social media that they all agreed in her class to wear something crazy. She will say she regretted her actions and never meant to tarnish the image of the school. That should be enough. The school can't just withdraw her certificate because she bought a cloth. Did they write the name of UNIBEN on the cloth? Maybe the malpractice she was referring to has nothing to do with exam....maybe she was scamming her boyfriends for me to pay school fees you don't know. No lawyer is embarrassing the school. Ordinarily, her action is enough to warrant her certificate to be withdrawn as her actions has brought the name of the institution in disrepute, and is capable of casting aspersions on the quality of other students who have graduated from that school as she has directly/indirectly implied that the quality of graduates the school produces is questionable and as such would impact on other students in the labor market. The institution has every right to ask her to retake her exams to be sure she actually merits her grades and is qualified to be issued a certificate.

Oga calm down. The school has investigated and from what I can understand, they are not saying she did malpractice all they are saying is that she should write the exam again. The school has right to order for rewrite just as student has right to order for re-mark. If she was found guilty, her certificate would have been withdraw. All they are saying is write your exam again. It's not a big deal if you initially wrote it before.

In the university where I graduated from, it was written on your original certificate that you've been found worthy in learning and character and therefore you were issued such and such certificate. What this girl did rest on character. That statement on her shirt goes against character, she had caused disrepute to the school. Therefore , it's normal if the school can't forgive her.

You signed the contract during your MATRICULATION..
