The thing about this position, is that you project your insecurities about people judging you based on your country of birth unto others.

If people see Nigeria as messed up, do you really think it bothers every Nigerian in the same way. People will see what they want to see regardless. The sooner you realize that life is about finding fulfillment, the sooner you come to peace with whatever people’s opinions are about you.

Your position is also flawed because every country has emigrants for a medley of reasons, and every country has some level of negativity attached to them.

People see Americans as loud and ignorant.
People see the Chinese as brutal dictators
People see the British as being too traditional.
People see Russians as being racist and unwelcoming.
People see Nigerians as scammers.
People see Israelis as belligerent victim players.

Every nation’s citizens are seen through varying degrees of negativity and positivity. The sooner you learn to focus on your own life, the better.
o ma Se oooo

I don't know how to educate ignoramuses.i have tried but they seek so stuck up in their ways and belief systems

Then, people were begged to take jobs and there influx of Ghanaians afterwards which birthed Ghana must go later. There were bountiful of jobs then than now. No steady power supply to get oneself self-employed, no good infrastructures to make things work. I ask, why do they travel abroad for medical treatments while others die back home for the same reason. See, the problem of Nigeria is bigger than me to carry on the head like a gala seller. I rather be in a country where infrastructures are readily available for use. The sufferings here and there are not the same. They get levels. The sufferings in a good country can give much money than here. I see people suffering here and it seems endless.
That’s why I make reference to doing what works for you as no two situations are the same . A lot of Nigerians have flourished in USA . A lot of Nigerians have also flourished in Nigeria. It’s all about finding out what you want in life and going for it. Some people cannot live with power interruption and all. Some people will rather have an alternative source of power than leave their home country due to the dilapidated infrastructure. It’s an individual decision.

Sir, I don't totally agree with you. There are lots of Nigerians who moved to foreign countries and that totally changed their destiny. Just to mention a few. Look at footballers. Any footballer in Nigeria as at today is likely to die in poverty. If the same footballer is just privileged to be signed on by a foreign country, he or she is made for life. Look at footballers like Mikel obi, Obafemi Martins, Alex Iwobi, kelechi Ihenacho etc, etc, etc. I believe this few men I have mentioned and many more playing football in foreign land could not have had 1% of their current net worth if they had been in Nigeria. I only used football as an example sir. There are several other areas of life where our people have done so well abroad and many more are still making waves. Infact, developed countries have over the years provided opportunities for our people who are focused and disciplined to get to heights which they could never have been able to get to if they have remained in Nigeria. Who knows maybe you too sir, may have achieved a lot more than what you have achieved now if you have moved in 1987.
The truth is that Nigeria has continued to degenerate into poverty because those who are managing Nigeria do not have the right competences and capacity to manage the resources of the country for the benefit of Nigerians. This, I can tell you for free sir, because it is not space science. I also believe sir, that this trend may not change in the immediate future if this error is not corrected. If you have been privileged to work with any of the multinational companies sir, you will notice how much they commit to strategic planning and subsequent implementation of such plans. That is the secret sir for their continuous growth. You will notice they have being using style to relocate from Nigeria one by one while still putting up strategies to harness the huge market here. I am very sure sir that Nigerians will stop going abroad when they see signs of a better future here sir. Infact, most of those going now are doing so as a strategy to secure the future of their future generation knowing fully well that Nigeria may not correct the leadership problem and therefore face a bleek future sir.
This is just my personal opinion sir, I stand to be corrected.

Bro this is one of my worst nightmares, hustling in the UK like I am better off then after many years i realise, i was just paying bills and tax in another mans country for absolutely no reason. No one knows how future Nigeria is going to be, but i have a feeling Nigeria will never get better. Like just how the old people in 1980 kept complaining, those in 2021 too complaining , those in 2040 too will just about complain about how expensive things are.

But i think having one leg in Nigeria and one leg outside Nigeria is just about the best. Look at the real estate situation in lekki right now. They no even born anyone doing menial jobs outside Nigeria to afford it but it is still being bought by both those at home and abroad who have extremely good wealth.

Wishing everyone the best in thier hustle ooo

Exactly.

You spoke very well. And even if Nigeria remained one for many years to come, 8t won't change anything. Nigeria was better than Dubai many years ago, now Dubai is now much and much better than Nigeria. With lots of oil in both countries, one of the countries carefully and wisely thiers to develop their country. While the other is ravaging in terrorism, poverty and lack of infrastructures.

I'm on oyedepo's side on this. I took same bold step but never regretted it. I'm an embodiment of God's favour and grace. Shebi we go the America sef, but I chose to return home after my program. I don't know if the highest earning Nigerian living overseas can match me in revenues monthly. I give them money each time I go America. Ordinary 100 dollar is like giving them millions. I had shared stories of my life and that of my uncle who used to work at Walmart in the past as stores officer. He shunned the flashy lifestyles over there and came back home, to introduce a solar inverter manufactured by trace engineering, USA which later became Xantrex. His friends booed him, they said village people had come calling, that he's been bewitched. This man today is a billionaire. He had a major leap in his business when the atm revolution erupted in Nigeria, he became favourite of old generation banks including the CBN for installation of inverters to power all their atms nationwide. Na foreigners like Indians for chop the whole money clean mouth, come pay our graduates employed with peanut.

Nigeria is a land of honey and milk. Na those in government God go punish for discouraging foreign investors from coming in through their selfish ends. Where I've stepped my feet into, none of our the leaders' children had had the opportunity to reach, in their entire life. I've been with Barak Obama, courtesy my profession in DAR Hall( Daughters of American Revolution Hall) near the white House in DC.

Do we have challenges? Yes, we do. Are they surmoutable? Yes they are. Buhari can't be in government forever. If pool comes to shove, we break up and we bear our fathers' names . We can still work together as neighbours in areas where each has a comparative advantage. I have a friend who had his masters and PhD in a university in NC, where he lives. Recently, I saw him posting tokunbo cars on his status for sale...an associate Prof selling used cars...what a life! Back home he'd be an oga in one of our universities where his service would be appreciated.

Truthful comments hardly get likes.

Correct analysis!

That's not a wise line of reasoning, and you have zero idea on who a slave is.

A slave can't get an education, have a roof over his head with his hard earned money, start a business, pay tax, send money to his love ones back home, owned property, have access to world class health care.

If that's slavery, then yes I would put my savings on the line, only wicked people or people with zero chance of leaving this country discourage others from leaving.

Whichever way you choose to look at it.. it's still slavery and servitude to the white men.
A slave in the King's palace will definitely not agree to being a slave as compared to the free ones living outside the palace.. But we all know he is the King's slave.

Slavery get degree and level.

Very well said. If there is an exodus of a people, there are reasons for it. Rather than talk about those still struggling to stabilize why don’t we make the country better so anyone having issues know that the home is a viable option too. Right now Nigeria is not a viable option rather things are getting worse. I spoke with a guy in Manchester that would rather be a cleaner in UK than a bank manager here in Nigeria. So choice too is key. What Oyedepo sees as suffering abroad is heavenly to so many. In time, man forgets how his path was till he got into affluence.

What's the percentage of people owning properties compared to poor and jobless people roaming the street. Can you answer why Nigeria has over 100 million poor people in abject poverty? Yes, I understand some people make money but the percentage is so small.

What about millions of youths graduating yearly without job opportunities or businesses. These are what drive people out of Nigeria. If the country is good nobody will leave.
