COMPAQ:I'm not against going to America. Oyedepo never said he didn't go to America. He has church branches there. Go and learn opportunities, but come back and put it to use. That's my point. The speed of your progress would shock you, if you come back. Even the few multinationals we have around would consider those with a foreign degree more than home-baked graduates when employing. No place like naija. Forget all those hitches. They won't last forever. I only blame our youths for allowing those criminals who call themselves leaders to manipulate their brains in every election. Buhari shouldn't have been allowed to taste that position in the first place. He would be rated the most-failed leader after exit of power 1 Like |

Eriokanmi: This is a fake and a self advertising narrative. That your brother or uncle, if he has not travelled abroad, would he have gotten acquainted with those complex technologies that made him a rich man? And for you, the riches you are boasting about were made because you made use of the opportunities you saw in your journeys abroad to enrich yourself. As for your unfortunate professor, there are many other professors like Okonjo Iweala who are on top of their profession just because they ventured abroad. Besides how many professors in Nigeria are rich? |

The issue i have with statements like this is that Bishop Oyedepo's second son, Pastor Isaac, lives abroad, in the US for that matter, heading the Winners church in Maryland, US. This same son of his was in charge of Winners church in South Africa before moving to the US. Also his first son, Pastor David Jnr, now resident pastor in Canaanland used to live in the UK heading the Winners church there. If Nigerians were not migrating abroad, there would be virtually no winners chapel in many of the countries the church operates in, because most of the members there are of Nigerian descent. In US for example, most winners churches members are 80 to 90% Nigerians, if not more. People migrate for various reasons. So long as they're making earnings legitimately, it doesn't matter the nature of their jobs. Let Nigeria get itself properly, those who choose to stay, will stay. By the way, Bishop Oyedepo himself has been traveling to the US for long. In 1987, he planned to relocate permanently, there was nothing wrong with that plan. It was his heart desire, just like many Nigerians who may wish to relocate too. Only that in his case, God later told him not to move. There are many that God has sanctioned their move abroad. No cap size fits all. Some will go for sometime and come back to invest in Nigeria, some will never return. To each his own. 4 Likes |

Bishop Oyedepo seems to be mocking Nigerians these days. Why can't he just Concentrate on preaching the gospel and leave stories alone! 1 Like |

dapadawee:Of all People, Bishop Oyedepo and yourself should know that all this wealth won't follow anyone out of this world. So why all the fuss? Both successful unsuccessful people will eventually share the same fate and that is death, but what matters is what God thinks and know about us not how much money we made or how big our church is or how many church branches we have all over the world or how we have the power to hire or fire unfruitful pastors up and down. May God help all of us. 1 Like |

Eriokanmi:Ehn ehn.. so cos your uncle was able to leverage on his exposure abroad to make money means Nigeria is a place everybody should rush back to. Please, when next you want argue with this your narrow thinking, remember your uncle is just one person that was “lucky”. A country where you can’t move freely; basic social amenities are not available for all; doctors, lectures are not paid well, as at when due. You should look at issues from a broader point of few - if 100 graduates come back home, can 50 of them gets something tangible to do. A country that stifles growth should not be where you rush to. 2 Likes |

desiredhome: This is so funny. People all over the world emigrate for better opportunities. It is absolutely normal. And when they go to those better countries they have to start from scratch doing odd and menial jobs. If you plan well you'll move up the jobs ladder in no time. Stop demonising emigration. Italians, Polish, Spaniards, Portuguese and Australians all emigrate to the UK for better opportunities. Same way Argentines, Mexicans, Ecuadorians, etc emigrate to the US for better opportunities. These are countries far better than Nigeria but still their citizens look to other better countries for opportunities. Stop saying what you don't know. 1 Like |

Which Nigerians are suffering abroad? The same Nigerians that send over $20 billion home every year, which is close to or more than the revenue earning of the entire country from oil in recent time. Of course, like everywhere there will always be those struggling. And these are usually those without a legal resident status. 1 Like |

A common question here is how much was naira to dollar then. If all Americans do is spend Naira in America like Nigerians want dollars in Nigeria, American dollar will be cheaper than Zimbabwe dollars. There are more American 100 dollars outside America than inside America back by nothing. Remember, there is nothing like gold standard again. Spend Naira in Nigeria to demand Nigerian made goods and services. Naira will appreciate. But as long as you use Naira to chase American goods and services, you will always look for more and more Naira to buy dollars. Dollar is branding, without weight. If Americans sell beach sands, people will buy made in America sand. But wait, you can only buy American sand in dollars. Go figure. 2 Likes |

And in the US, the pastor probably won't have the liberty he has in Nigeria in fleecing the worshippers in his church. 1 Like |
